Correction: at 5'4", 140 is NOT overweight according to BMI. Overweight for that height is about 146.

That must have been a freaking huge bug.

Wow. My husband and I are fairly traditional. I stay at home with the kids because that's what works best for us. When I work, I invariably end up getting promoted to a salaried managerial position, and then I spend more time at work than at home and our relationship suffers. I'm most certainly *not* lazy... and if you…

I have no objections to any of these things... except ordering. I order my own food, thanks. :-)

My husband and I do have a fairly traditional relationship. I run the household. I'm a SAHM. He brings home the bacon, and I have dinner ready when he gets home. I make breakfast and pack his lunch. He plays with the kids and does their baths and bedtimes at night. He pays the bills. I do the grocery shopping. It works for…

I also have PCOS. Things to keep in mind: 1.) 2 pounds weight loss in a week is good for ANYONE, let alone a person with PCOS. 2.) Extreme weight loss in such a short time generally happens for 1 of 2 reasons: a starvation diet or obesity (so there's a lot more weight to lose). Usually, though, it contributes to a yo-yo…

Not where I live. It's not safe to run outside for months of the year. (Excessive snow, ice, and -40 C/F, plus wind chill at times.)
-
I was given 1230 per day to lose 1 pound per week. I actually eat closer to 1400 now that I'm paying attention. (More on weight lifting days.) Work out more and eat back your calories.

Taking extra vitamin B supplements can produce something the color of Mountain Dew. :-P

Ha. I tried that. Not withholding so much as offering a little extra. It was an awesome motivator for a week. And then *I* started looking forward to him not exercising. ;-) There are limits to how much one is willing to put out, even if it's a great motivator. But, yeah, OP, if you're not married to someone that has a…

It's pretty darned close, like within 2 pounds.

I've been struggling with the same issues, except I will not make a poor food choice in front of him. I feel that he needs to see me resist temptation or go in moderation to encourage him to do the same. In the end, though, I've realized that I cannot do anything more than encourage and provide good food and healthy meals.…

I have a tablespoon of it in most of my breakfast shake mixes. (I do Body By Vi.) The recipes that don't have that bit of peanut butter in them are just not as filling for me.

I also have PCOS, and am restarting metformin. The first time I was on metformin (to help with fertility), taking the meds plus switching to Coke Zero instead of regular coke helped me lose twenty pounds. :-) Fee free to add me.

Pre-husband, I dated a man with kids that were only a few years younger than me. *shrugs*. It happens.
-
Agreed. I just had my second c-section, and every time, my doctor reminds me of residual soreness, as well as the numbness in the abdominal area.

Nope. I hate Mother's Day. The only reason I leave my house is to go to Sunday dinner at my MIL's house. And the year that my kid gave me a bag of gravel from the park across the street just clinched it. That was when I decided that I will not have anything to do with that event. (He was 6. Now at the age of 14 he knows…

Some people just don't lose boob. I typically don't. And when I gain, the first places it goes is to my boobs and my butt. I like to think it's so I don't fall over in either direction. ;-)
-
Ha. It's why I run my weeks Monday through Sunday. We have dinner at my in-laws' house every Sunday, and there's always something amazing... and calorie laden and delicious.
-
I've been doing Body by Vi shakes for breakfast. If I could just live off of cake batter, I would, but the Body by Vi is a much more reasonable substitute. ;-) My favorite is the Butterfinger shake, and it's 257 calories.

Ugh. I remember spilling two ounces once because I leaned forward too far when I got up. I sobbed. Whoever said that there's no sense crying over spilled milk clearly wasn't talking about breast milk.
-
No, but it's *hard*. It's a lot of work on the body, and it can be quite tiring and exhausting. Growing a human and feeding a human at the same time requires a lot of calories, and some women can't keep up. The supply dries out at times.

Spend 40 minutes pumping. During that time, you're pretty much trapped, even if you have an awesome hands-free pump like I did. I couldn't hold my baby while I pumped because my two weeks, he'd grab onto the tubing and tug it. So for that 40 minutes, if my kid started to cry, I was screwed. It's not an easy thing to start…

Seriously, I've got no dog in this fight, but I find it exceptionally arrogant to tell someone else how he feels after he point blank tells you how he feels about something. You know more about how the guy feels than he does? Really? Just think about how stupid that sounds for a second. No one has said you can't have an…

It's been longer than 5 years, but yeah, I know what you mean. I'm 5'4. I was under 100 pounds before I had my first child. After six weeks, I weighed 103, and that was awesome. Then I crept up to 113. Still thin, so all good. I just wasn't underweight anymore. And then I went on depo provera. It kicked PCOS into overdrive…

Wow. I find it sad that you would bash women who don't choose to nurse for whatever reason. For some women, nursing can be a detriment to that bond. I'm one of those women. I could not nurse my son. The thought made me physically ill. (I have no problems with other people doing that, but me? No.) I pumped for a while until…
