I don't know how well you know some of the people who are rude or judgemental, however I'm sure they don't mean to come off that way. You can't take it personally and dwell on the negative, you just have to brush it off and seek out those who are nice and supportive of you. Everyone is different.

If you like protein, go for fish, tuna, and beans. It's satisty your protein need. I've been eating a lot of fish, tuna, beans and veggies. It helped me to maintain protein hunger and keep me on the run for workout.
