  • I see what you're saying. I do. I definitely did NOT mean that I trained my husband by any means whatsoever. We both just grew up and learned how to be in a relationship together. My mom is right, though. You do show someone how you want to be treated by how you act around them. If you let someone walk all over…
  • I've been married for almost 20 years. We have three kids, ages 17, 14, and 11. When we first got married and had our first child, I did e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. I worked full time, took care of our daughter, cleaned house, cooked dinner...I was wiped out! One day, I was "ranting" to my mom about it, in the nicest way…
  • Wow...sounds great...looks great...uhm yeah...nice!
  • I understand where you're coming from. My daughter, who's 17, is large on top. She is always wearing a cami or tank under her shirts to attempt to cover up. She's very modest(THANKFULLY lol). She is in a constant battle to keep covered and is sometimes self-conscious about it. I say you wear what you're comfortable in and…
  • I have to agree that it seems everyone is different. Remember back when that People magazine came out with Bradley Cooper and the "Sexiest Man Alive"? There were people who were thrilled about it and others who were like "What?!" lol They wanted Ryan Gosling...and there are plenty of people who think Mr. Gosling is…
  • First, you just wear what you want. It seems you're choosing appropriate places, so meh!@ anyone who has a problem with it. I'm in love with those tops with the built in extra material(I won't go as far as saying it's a bra haha). I wear them all the time here in Texas...it's friggin hot! My husband LOVES it when I wear…
  • pxp-right back atcha! Thanks for "de-skipping" me. haha Earlier the page changed and I was skipped. Yes, there should be a sarcasm font...definitely! I have not seen a single person on here yet that isn't attractive in some wonderful way! All beautiful or handsome people here!
  • Guess that answers my question about getting skipped before....hmm ^^^yes sarcasm btw. ;)
  • ccpowers pic is small, but from what I can tell...very pretty! :) Great background, too! SO jealous! :) and MN-great pic! Also jealous of your bikini body. hehe Cute kids in your ticker, too!
  • Great job! I'm 5'7" as well. I started this at 227.8 lbs. on May 7. I'm at 207.4 now. You being in ONEderland after three months is VERY inspirational!! Thanks for sharing! :D
  • Thank you for your input. I'm also looking for a good heart rate monitor. I will definitely look into Polar. Thanks again!
  • I'm hoping to start on July 1st as well. Very excited about adding this to my daily routine. I probably won't JUST do the 30DS, though. I love to go walking and I try to do 50 crunches per day, when I have time.
  • Don't give up! I have a friend who has had FOUR kids. She's 40 and looks AMAZING. It can be done. I used to think I'd never get their either, until I met Holly. The older we get, the harder we have to work...that's all. You can do it! To the OP: GREAT job! Thank you for sharing your story. You inspire us all.…
  • How smart are you for not telling the people around you about your weight loss? So smart! I wish I would've kept it between my husband and myself and MFP. I've had so many people telling me I should reward my great workouts or weight loss by EATING CRAP. *sigh* Congrats to you and your wife! Way to go with the support! I…
  • Congrats on your purchase! I bought some workout pants about 6 mos. ago in a size large. I was SO glad when I put them on the other day and they fit! I'm finally getting out of the XL and plus sizes myself. woohoo! It's a great accomplishment and you SHOULD be very proud! :) I've already told you about my equally…
  • I'm interested!! Please invite me. :) My first goal is my anniversary(20th) --Aug. 22. I'm 208 and would like to be 195 by then. My Christmas goal would be to get to 160-165 lbs. at least. :)
  • ^^^This. My biggest struggle has been against the scale. I'm addicted. I check my weight every day morning and night. It's ridiculous. I've decided that on July 1, I'm going to (re)start the 30 day shred and only check my weight and measurements every 10 days. Then after that, only every two weeks on the scale. I'm also…
  • I read the article that one poster put up about cardio being bad for you. In the author's example, he said he knew women who ate a lot...and I mean a LOT and then went to the gym to "run it off" on the treadmill. That's where the flaw in the argument is...for me anyway. Of course, if you eat 4000 calories a day and then go…
  • GOD BLESS YOU for writing this!!! I have been so discouraged about how slow my weight loss has been lately after such a great start. Thank you and thank you again for letting us in on the information you received from your doctor. You've helped and encouraged many today. To the OP- I feel your pain! It's been almost two…
  • He may just be worried that once you're thin again, you'll leave him for a new guy. The best bet is to reinforce your love for him. Show him lots of affection and kind words. His negativity is from fear of losing you as you lose. My husband was the same way at first. I started making comments about how he's the only one…
  • I'm IN...but I have slightly more than 70 lbs to go. I need to lose 74 lbs. to reach my goal weight. I started at 227.8 lbs. I'm now at 209.4 lbs. I also would love to reach the ONE-derland! :) I'm a 41-year-old mom of three(two teenagers! eep!). I stay at home but volunteer a lot at church and my kids' schools. My…
  • Nope. I don't agree with that poster at all. It's one thing to be honest. It's another to be rude. It goes with the old adage: "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." They need to be taught to be sensitive to others' feelings.
  • My daughter was in the 5th grade and her body was changing. Another kid asked her if SHE was pregnant?! Kids are both blunt and jerks sometimes. However, my kids are very sensitive to others' feelings and thankfully, have never had the problem of making inappropriate comments to others. They are now, 17, 14, and 11. The…
  • Ugh. That's terrible! I agree that HR will take care of the situation. I am a stay-at-home mom, so I don't have to deal with comments at work, thankfully. However, I've had enough with comments from people who are supposed to be my friends! It's not that they're calling me fat...I would completely stop talking to them, if…
  • Thanks for all the tips! I am starting this today, but by no means will it be my only exercise. I *heart* my elliptical and my husband only has time to exercise in the evening, so we walk 5 miles on a trail together. I will still keep track of my inches, as it seems like that is where people benefit the most. Can't wait to…
  • I started at 227 and am at 210ish. I canNOT wait until I get below 200! I know you feel just fantastic! Congrats! I know I'm also going to love each 10 lb increment that I cross over. Thanks for sharing. Each success I read inspires me and keeps me going. Good job!!!! :)
  • One thing I've really had a hard time with is that I weigh myself every day. My husband, mom, and other friends tell me not to, but it's hard not to try to see progress every day. Their reasoning makes sense though. Our bodies fluctuate every day. Sometimes it's water weight. Sometimes it's those extra calories. No joke,…
  • Wonderful!!! Congrats for a job well done! I know you worked hard and you have earned all of the accolades and congrats you can get! Very motivating!!!
  • Inspirational! Way to go! You look so truly happy and at peace in your after photos. Blessings!
  • Definitely soda. I haven't had any in a month and a half. I just don't see the point in working my butt off to burn calories only to put them back on with a drink. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be to give it up, too. I'm in Texas and we love our Dr. Pepper! :P
