Happy weekend ladies! The weather forecast for where I live is sunny!!! Must be the first weekend this year where I've heard that! Congratulation on the milestones reached 100lb gone, 44 year anniversary, 20,000 steps + etc etc! Wow - fantastic achievements!! Inspirational ladies or what! Someone mentioned Galaxy Quest -…

Evening ladies Not long got in from dog training! I do love Thursday evenings! In the first hour I get to work with loads of different pups of different breeds. This evening there were a number of lab and lab crosses, including a doodle - all playing up!!!! Labrador pups are just so cute - even when they're naughty! All…

Great advice - thank you. Last year I walked the 5k R4L and said that 2014 would be the year I would go faster than a walk! This advice is going to be so helpful - I've downloaded the C25K podcasts and have got until July to slowly get moving! Got my running shoes, which I have been walking in so I know that they feel…

In our town the churches do an inter church Lent Group network - where we all share reading and studying the same book and meet in homes across the town with all groups having a mix of people from lots of different churches and denominations. It is really interesting to meet with and share with people we don't usually - we…

Hugs to those who need hugs! (Who doesn't?) Just got in from walking dogs - fantastic starry sky! Incredible tonight! But not too cold - so a lovely walk! However throat and eye lids feel as if they are sandpaper and voice has gone! One of the downsides of working in a school - a breeding ground for germs and so easy to…

Lent is the 40 days in the church's year leading up to Easter when the church remembers the days that Jesus spent in the wilderness before starting out on his ministry. The giving up idea seems to stem from the fact that the wilderness meant that he had to give up the normal everyday things; he was hungry, alone and having…

I started by jogging on the spot during ad breaks on the TV! At first 30 seconds was enough and it slowly worked up to being able to do the 3 minutes! At that point I decided that I would jog a bit while I walk the dogs - I do take them out late at night. I've just got in from a 30 min jog/walk! I'd never have done that if…

Happy Monday! The doodle dash was great fun! It was wet, muddy and the dogs loved it! The Chase is beautiful whatever the weather - but we all got very wet and very muddy! February was a bad month for me - I really lost the plot and undid all the good I did in January! So March has got to be a new start! Now my laptop is…
-
Count me in - I wanted to start at beginning of month but twisted ankle on Friday evening! Rest day on Saturday and managed a 3 mile walk with dogs today so keen to complete this month - dogs will be happy too! MA in UK

Happy March everyone! Just a quick post to mark my spot. About to go out join our monthly Doodle Dash on Cannock Chase! Labradoodles of all shapes, sizes and colours meet up with their humans and have a great time racing around together! People drive for around an hour to join us on the Chase which is a fantastic area of…

Hello everyone again - I finally have my laptop working again - the last time I read any of your comments it was the middle of page 1!!! I have soooo much to catch up on! I've really missed you all and can't wait to read the last three weeks! I am so pleased to be back in communication again with the world! MA in UK

One very wet, windy walk with the dogs! All 4 of us were in our hi-viz jackets to walk in the dark, and peeled them off when we got home! All very drippy! The kitchen floor resembles a water slide and the aroma of eau d'wet dog permeates the hallway as they gently steam dry! Time for bed now so not much time to chat. Loved…

Happy February everyone! Page 3 already! It's very wet and windy here - walking the dogs - their ears were flying behind them and we were just walking, battling against the wind! We only stayed out 20 mins instead of the usual hour + !! It was definitely enough! I've had an interesting week - it started on Monday with the…

An English Springer (born in Wales!) now nearly 10 and two second generation Labradoodles - a wavy coat black aged 4 and a smooth coat chocolate aged nearly 2. I help out in a dog training club - I love meeting all the puppies of all different breeds and cross breeds - my doodles help with the demonstrations and with…

18 miles this week. Made it with a few days to spare!

Wow I miss a few days and we're flying down the thread! I'm glad I found you all again! What I love about reading all your posts is the different weather conditions we are all in - when it is raining here I can read about sunnier climes and dream! For the first time in ages we can see some blue sky here! The forecast isn't…

35 miles so far! Dogs are enjoying the challenge!

My thoughts are that I will only eat sensibly and move more -'just for today'. if I want to eat unhealthily (like yesterday's fish and chip supper!) I need to exercise more ( jogging with my dogs instead of just walking them!) - but it's only just for today and my extra intensity kept me in the black. What happened…

I joined in last year and then fell down the stairs and hurt my foot! I'll see how much I can do for the rest of this month now it's fully recovered! Good to have found you after all this time! I'll have to renew acquaintance with my ticker! MA

I restarted 8 days ago as I realised that logging equals losing and diy equals gaining. I kept up with the 10,000 steps a day on my fitbit, but when not logging food 'forgot' that i'd eaten the odd packet of biscuits!! Logging is accountability and this is what I need - and it's working again for me. Being honest with the…

Evening ladies - prayers for those who are going through tough times - you will be remembered while I am on my dog walk every evening! I have decided to log before my dog walk so that I catch up with you all before I go. - congratulations to all of you who have stuck in there and made small achievements! I have decided…

Hi Kate Don't look at the mountain - watch your feet! It's one step at a time - and 'just for today' - forget what happened yesterday and don't worry about tomorrow! I know mfp works 'cos when I was logging everyday I lost - when I decided to go it alone I gained! So I'm back on the mountain track! My challenge this year…
-
So glad that I've found you all again! Lovely to read all your comments. I've realised that I do far better on mfp and with this group than on my own! So, new year, new challenge! Healed foot and thumb - only excuses but really got in the way! Now have to re-lose the 15lb I have put on since my last log with you lovely…

Yorkshire tea teabag - left to brew a little while with just a splash of milk - just to take it off the black! In one place I worked the girl who made the tea used to ask if we wanted tea based on a stockings colour chart - very milky was ecru, 'normal' amount of milk but stronger was tan and mine was known as barely black!
-
I have one main trick - whenever I crave an unhealthy snack I drink a glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If I then still 'need' it then I add it into my calories for the day and I have it! Most often, the 'need' for it has gone away by the time the 20 mins has passed! I find that If I don't give in on the odd occasion -…

Hello everyone again- I haven't been away that long - but the threads have really flown by. Well done to everyone with achievements and prayers for those going through difficult times. On Saturday we set off for a 6 mile walk on the local Chase and 1.5 miles in Charlie (the black doodle) came out of the stream with a…

Wow ladies .. just got to share - weigh in and not only did I lose 2lb but the scales said 199.6lb!!! Ok so it's only just under the dreaded 200 but it 's under!!! I'm really chuffed! To celebrate my daughter and I are just about to take the dogs on a long walk over our local Chase - 4+ miles here we come! Do you realise,…

Today (5th) is my choco-doodle puppy's 1st birthday! Amazing to feel that the year has gone by so fast! She's a crazy sweet dog and we can now see the adult she's going to become and she's lovely! It seems like a long time ago that I read that Michele asked me what a shrug is... it's like a lacy sleeveless bolero - it just…

5 miles so far - below target for week as yet!

Hello again everyone - It's fantastic to hear about all the good results that have been happening - a real inspiration! Thanks for sharing! Also, for those who are struggling - this is the place to share and be supported hands across the oceans! In the last week of term I had one of my colleagues seek me out - she said it…
