I am neither "black" nor "African-American", so I can't say my opinion is all that important on the subject. However, I have always wondered why "African-American" is even a thing. I mean, many "black" people are not from Africa, many "black" people are not American, many African people are not "black" (Charlize Theron and…

Milk Raspberries Bananas if it's by weight, I'm sure grilled chicken breast would be #1...

Women sense my power, and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid women, Mandrake. However, I do deny them my essence.

If you don't know her then I'd say leave it alone. If she's a friend of yours, I suggest you gently let her know that by choosing to continue smoking during her pregnancy, she's choosing her love of cigarettes over the love of her child. And when the kid gets old enough to realize that, it's probably going to have negative…

6 feet even, and I started at tree-fitty about 2 1/2 years ago. I have some more work to do - I'd like to see a 1-something on the scale and see what that looks like. For a person over 13 or so anyway, which is about how old I was the last time I was under 200... If you want to know, I have all kinds of info about the…

I don't have anything helpful to offer other than my sympathies. I always have the same reaction to broccoli - intense urge to vomit.

I don't. I keep my calories, protein, fat, and fiber within acceptable ranges for fat burning and carbs take care of themselves. I don't look at how many carbs are in things, nor do I care to.

My favorites so far: O Bacon, Where Art Thou? (story of my life...) The Girl With the Bacon Tattoo (lonely ladies out there, this is a sure-fire way to make yourself more popular with the menfolk...) There Will Be Bacon (this thought keeps me going in the darkest of times...) Some of my own: Monty Python and the Holy Bacon…

I used to have a similar problem, and I still don't like running but not because of my legs anymore. Now I have to wear very tight compression shirts so my partially-full torso skin-fat thing doesn't flap around so much. I prefer the elliptical - no leg pain, no skin-fat flapping. If you're going to jog, ease yourself into…

This would be why I advocate daily weigh-ins. If you only weigh once a week or worse, once a month, and your weigh-in day happens to be a day after you loaded up on sodium or you've got a three-flusher coming down the pike, you end up freaking out about nothing and doing all kinds of unnecessary calorie math. Daily…

I'm willing to bet it's mostly water and poop weight.

In my case, I was a very skinny kid as my parents did the whole "eat your vegetables or go hungry" thing at the house. Problem was, once I went to school and especially when I got to high school, I was suddenly able to eat all the stuff that I'd never been allowed to eat before. And I did. I got a job at 14, due in large…

I keep a pair of my old 52" pants and one of my 4xL shirts for reminder and motivation.

I saw someone the other day with their phone on the steering wheel playing Angry Birds. It's amazing the streets aren't just constantly littered with horrifically wrecked cars, 24/7. So many people are crazy stupid....

You can technically spot reduce without lipo. You just don't get to pick which spot gets reduced. People who say your body reduces fat equally from all parts as you continue at a deficit are wrong - your body will pick certain areas to deposit fat first when you're at a surplus, and those are usually the same areas that…

My advice: skimp on everything else and do open bar. Unless your guests are predominantly Amish and/or Mormon, they will appreciate open bar more than anything else. And people can cope with mediocre food and even bad music if they're enjoying the open bar. You probably don't have to skimp very much - open bar is not that…

Mayo is disgusting. Then again, I got up to 347 without any mayo at all. So whilst mayo may be a solid contributor to American obesity, it's far from the only or the top contributor. Most Americans get little or no exercise of any kind. That's your leading contributor right there.

:facedesk: Ramadan or not, 600 calories a day is not safe for anyone over the age of 2.

Of course, the positive effects are amplified if it is applied fresh...

This is true, but the effect can be reversed by topping them with HCG sauce.

If you want your liver and kidneys to rot and fall out, by all means continue to flood them with all of those herbs and supplements. If you'd rather not have massive organ failure, best to stick to a sensible plan of nutrition, exercise, and hydration.

Precisely. If you're too lazy to count calories, you're certainly too lazy to exercise regularly and live any sort of a healthy lifestyle. Counting calories is the easiest part of trying to get into better shape.

Lucky for me this isn't a diet, it's my life.

Most people (especially those of us that are coming down from very high weight levels) will have an extremely difficult time ever getting visible abs, much less 6/8 pack abs. It requires a very, very low body fat level. For me personally, I know if I ever get my body fat level down that low, I'll still have a bunch of skin…

I've read from a lot of places that pushups and pullups are the two best exercises for total body workouts, especially if you have no equipment. Or rather, if there were only two exercises you could do, those would be the two because they work just about everything. Pushups and other ab/lower back/planking type exercises…

People on Biggest Loser are also usually very, very obese. When you're that big, frankly it's pretty easy to drop a lot of weight quickly. Larger body mass burns more energy just keeping it all alive. I experienced this first-hand. As others have mentioned, it's also unsustainable to try and lose weight this way. They…

This isn't related to gaining/losing weight specifically, but OP needs to eat more fat. There are days on the diary with fat grams in the 10s and 20s. That's just not enough fat for a healthy person. Your body needs dietary fat in order to function properly. Some things that can get really messed up by lack of dietary fat:…

I don't think this can possibly be true. When I was heavier I used to sweat all the time. I'd sweat peeling a banana in January. Now I find I have to go 5 or 6 minutes on the elliptical at a pretty good clip before I really start getting a good sweat going. And I know I'm in waaayyyy better shape now than before.
