I live by zumba! I'm actually going tonight.

So, even though I was mildly disgruntled to see the scale read 148 lbs when I weighed in this morning, I still managed to bike to the gym in 30 degrees for a 6am workout. Woohoo. My roommates and I have been in a bit of a spat, and one of them was nice enough to bake me cupcakes to make peace. On the first day of my new…

I'll definitely join! This idea sounds like a blast (and I really need to jump back on the MFP bandwagon, haha).

I just now saw this thread! Ah, this is perfect. Moderation with sugar apparently doesn't exist in my world.

Drink water. I have at least one glass ten minutes before I eat anything. Not only does it fill me up quicker and prevent me from reaching for (another) piece of pie, I realize a lot of times I was only dehydrated - not hungry.

Warm, moist pita bread. Classic but best.

MFP sets protein intake levels pretty low, especially if you are working out on a regular basis. I wouldn't stress over it. Keep up the good work!

Oooo, good point. I like that.

Back up to 144. Aw, shucks.

Get a mouthwash that literally kills your tastebuds - that's what I'm dealing with at the moment, and it is actually helping haha. Just kidding - wouldn't actually suggest that. I agree with the users above me. Fruit definitely helps. I make a large fruit salad (kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, mango, melon;…

Hah, I totally agree! While its antioxidant benefits are aplenty, it's been getting a lot of hype. Still, I love the taste of it. Make amazing smoothies. . . :drinker: Oh and just so everyone is aware - it is pronounced "ah-sigh-eee". Not "ah-kai". My friend lived in Brazil for two years and it is his absolute biggest pet…

Just fyi, I've heard a LOT of bad news regarding bikesdirect.com. Might want to check out the reviews first. . .

Hey! I've just started getting into road cycling too so I've done a TON of research lately on the subject. I just bought a new bike (literally; today, actually) to start training for some sprint triathlon races. If you are wanting to get into road races, this is what you would want. Riding on a hybrid bike or a mountain…

Zumba is the best! I've been going at least once a week for the past year and some change. Think of it like line dancing with a combination of hip hop and latin. Hahah, and LOTS of bootyshakin'. In a one hour class, I burn between 600 and 750 calories! I'm going to take it as a regularly scheduled class next semester and I…

I've had fibro since I was 12 years old. It's been a hard struggle, balancing diet, exercise, and pain management. But trying to stay fit has certainly helped keep it in check. I'm here if you ever want to rant about it, haha!

Where in AZ are you from? I lived in Chandler most of my life before I started going to NAU for school. Man, I'm in Fargo right now for an internship and the humidity is INSANE. I miss the oven, haha.

I have a big problem with overpronating too! I usually go with Mizunos, but this time I bought a really nice pair of Sauconys and I'm hoping they'll do the trick. I would definitely suggest going to a specialized running store and have them evaluate your stride. Seriously, I love running stores. The people are just so nice…

So, I'm not sure what everyone officially decided on for the challenge of the week, so I decided to try both. I went to a step aerobics class last night for the first time! It was actually kind of fun, haha. I woke up super-sore this morning. As far as veggies go, it's been a struggle. I'm trying to incorporate at least…

It's very high in antioxidants. However, it isn't the miracle food these companies are making it out to be. Any diet should have be well-rounded in fruits, veggies, whole grains, and the right kinds of fats. That aside, I really like an all-fruit acai blend that jamba juice makes. Mhmmm.

Hi there, Kelly! Sounds like you are doing a great job so far. Remember we are always here for you if you need tips, tricks, and support!

My favorites are string cheese, reduced-sodium triscuits, quakers mini rice cakes (mmm, ranch), granola, and celery. If you get bored with fruit, try dipping pieces in a lite fruit dip. You can even get these in individual 100-calorie serving sizes. Ooo la la.

Hi, Celeste! I'm pretty new here too. But I have to say good for you on getting that workout done early! It is such a great way to start off the day. Keep it up - you're doing great. As far as the calories are concerned, I have just a couple of suggestions. Now, the current issue is what to do about today since you're near…

I agree with the girls above me - you only turn 24 once, honey. Go out and celebrate! And tomorrow, you'll be right back on the path to your goal. Happy birthday! :flowerforyou:

Congrats! You are doing awesome, girl!

140.5 . . . dangit. :ohwell:

Hi, Brittaney! Congrats on your engagement, that's wonderful. You sound so happy. What triathlon are you training for? I am training for one in the fall myself and I'm really excited that there is someone else on here with the same vision. Haha. This site has been such a wonderful tool in my short time on here so far.…

I'm glad you had such a good experience! It is always SO helpful to find a group to go running with - not only people to support and encourage you, but also to push your limits to see your true potential. Good for you, keep it up.

I'm currently doing a full-time internship at a university where they have an amazing wellness center (and taking full advantage of it!). I wake up pretty early, around 5:00, and work out from 5:30 to 6:30. My job requires me to to work from about 8 to 5, so if I am feeling ambitious I usually work out again at night from…
