Sincere thanks to all the great responses- solid advice. Love this group.

It was marked $200 with a bench but I traded it for something I wasn't using- so free.

<-- I just traded a home gym type machine that I had collecting dust for the last few years out for a power rack and Play-it-Again Sports and I could not be happier. I also picked up an Olympic weight set on Craigslist pretty cheap. Unless money is no object I would definitely recommend looking for some used equipment.

I pretty much eat the same breakfast every day for months at a time- and then just change it in some minimal way like using a different hot sauce or something. Everything else I eat a wide variety.

Me being late to anything. Other people who are habitually late to everything.

498 Big Macs. Could be true- I used to eat a lot of those.

Most home improvement projects.

So I guess they've all lost way more than 107 pounds?

I've noticed a lot of foods in the MFP database don't list any potassium where they should. When I started paying attention to it I noticed I was entering a banana that had multiple user verifications that still showed zero potassium.
-
Enjoy them when they are in season locally. Right now around here they are about $10 for an entire flat and taste just awesome.

I don't usually even pay attention to it anymore but to answer your question I checked out the report and it's ranged between 800-1200 for the last 30 days. My cholesterol was never as out of control as it was when I spent two years avoiding dietary cholesterol (no eggs or red meat.) Now I'm off Lipitor- I eat three eggs…

Thankfully I don't get sick very often but when I do my eating and exercise plan is pretty much out the window until I feel better. I don't think taking a little break from everything when your body is trying to recover is really a bad thing. A few days is insignificant in the framework of long term goals.

Love all these posts! My biggest surprise lately was going to lunch with a big croup of coworkers. We ended up sitting at a large booth made to accommodates like 8 people or so. Quite a few of the people I work with are pretty big guys and when we saw the booth there was obviously a lot more tummy room on one side of it…

We did some cherry tomatoes, hot peppers, and a variety of herbs last year- it was nice and the kids enjoyed working with me on it. Things started out looking good then everything kind of died off early and never produced much. We will probably do some research and try it again this year.

I log everything. They may not be a lot of calories but I pay attention to more than just calories. I keep an eye on fiber and potassium for example.

People want fast results so they go on unsustainable plans to drop weight quickly- when the fad diet or crazy exercise plan derails itself they are content with whatever results they got and just go back to their old ways until they gain weight and repeat the process. Unfortunately I followed that pattern for ten years of…

Great story- so inspiring. Thanks for sharing it Bales.

Cilantro is awesome- especially with lime on some carne asada tacos!

That one took some serious photoshop skills- not digging on her 'before' just saying (technically speaking) it's impressive.

Same bike as above but with a chopped down cf flat bar...

I gained around 80 lbs the year I turned 30 when I took on a super stressful project at work that had me working ridiculous hours seven days a week for most of the year. For the next dozen years I'd lose and gain back the same 20-30 lbs of it until last year at 42 I finally got serious about getting healthy again. It…

Optimum Nutrition in Double Rich Chocolate is not too bad. Trutein is amazingly good- especially the Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cup flavor.
-
Out of curiosity I logged that- if I did the math right 2.5 Gallons = 320 Oonces = 3640 Calories = 1014 Carbs all from Coke.

Great job! I had similar but worse looking lab work 8-10 years ago and was on Lipitor for about that long. Finally got off all that and BP meds last year when I decided to take control of things. For me the BP seems to be dialed right into the sodium- as long as I keep that in check the doc is happy.
-
I lost around 70lbs last year mostly thanks to cycling and mountain biking. Mostly.

^all beautiful

I agree that does seem like kind of a big deal. Maybe a different bench would work better? I don't have a spotter so being able to bench press in the cage is very important- if I go to failure I can pull the bar back off my chest and it catches on the rails over my neck so I can get out from under it.
-
Looks like a nice setup. If money is not a big deal and you want to support the local shop that's cool but there are a lot of these around used. Between Craigslist and Play-it-Again Sports I picked up a nice rack with a bench, Olympic bar, 245 lbs in plates and weight tree for a few hundred bucks plus trading in some old…

I eat fairly repetitively for breakfast- lunch is what usually what throws me a curve ball since part of my job is taking out clients a few days a week- typically to someplace of their choosing. And of course while I’m there I’m supposed to be focusing on them and not the MFP app trying to figure out what the heck I should…

Good advice I think- I do tend to look at each day more than I do the week a a whole. Thanks.
