  • I had 100+lb to lose before starting 5:2, I've been on it for approx 5 months now, and have lost 35lb to date, with only 1 gain of 2lb (due to 4 day break and not fasting properly that week). It is a good idea to check with your doctor, but I don't see why you can't do it. Welcome to the group. :)
  • Finally done week 5 day 3. I've been dreading it, but in actual fact I loved it.
  • How about "community - hope - support" that's how I see this group. I love the idea of the devils and angels.......... sums my life up completely. haha
  • @snaps27 I had a horrific cold not long after I'd started 5:2, and decided my health was more important so abandoned my planned fast days for that week, but kept an eye on my intake so it wasn't high. Though I really didn't want to eat anyway. I don't think in the long term 1 week off 5:2 will hamper your progress. You…
  • Friend request sent. :)
  • Firstly let me say..... Thank you for taking us all on. The good - we couldn't be in better hands The bad - I'm sure we will cope with your pranks.... And I read to the end. The ugly - we are all here for the same reason, and you make a great poster boy. Let the fun begin.
  • So after my 4 day weekend, and a complete splurge......... I put 7lb on when I weighed, my final weight for the week was a 2lb gain, but I'm not worrying about it because I know I can lose that this week, and I won't be having a weekend like that again for a long time. I only had a gain, because my 2nd fast didn't happen.…
  • My nsv is I'm still here and working 5:2 after 5 months. It's the easiest plan I've ever done, and I love the fact that it fits around my life. I can go out and not worry about what to eat, or what's the lowest calorie item on the menu. I don't have to worry about having that glass of wine or two or even three. Chocolate…
  • I set MFP to maintain for the 5 days, but don't tend to eat back my exercise cals. On fast days I just stick with 500 cals.
  • Well after a complete blowout over the weekend, my last weekend away with the girls before xmas. I weighed myself and have managed to put 7lb on. I weigh myself every day, but only register Friday mornings. So I decided to fast yesterday and tomorrow, and after just 1 fast I've lost 5 of the 7lb. I'm now hoping if I have…
  • I was beginning to panic. I thought I'd been deleted from it. I've posted a link on my page so my friends who were on it can re-join.
  • I tend to wear a close fitting work out vest top, then a looser thin top over that so I don't show my fat.
  • Going to start tonight. Work and home have taken over the 1st week, so will have to make it up. [/url]
  • My 1st time doing this, and I'm doing C25K, so will try for 20 Miles.
  • Hi, That would depend on what your area of North West includes. I'm just outside Chester. Does that count? :flowerforyou:
  • I find it easier to do lunch and dinner as well, but some people have breakfast and dinner. I don't think it matters, just do whatever works best for you. There is a 5:2 group if you want to join it. I've also sent a friend request. Always good to have support, I'm pretty much a newbie to it, I've been on the 5:2 plan for…
  • 47 and have more than 3 stone to lose. FR winging it's way to you.

  • "Exercise in the morning, before your brain figures out what you're doing" and I love this one "Fitness is not about being better than someone else......... it's about being better than you used to be"

  • Not a great day for me today, I've pulled the tendons and ligaments in my ankle, and whilst they are healing if I do too much my ankle aches really badly. I'm not making excuses, but it's been really sore today, so I'm afraid I haven't managed to do a workout today. I have stuck to my calorie allowance, and gained some…
  • It's really hard to find time sometimes, so maybe just do a little at a time. Get up half an hour earlier and go for a walk/jog/run. Friend request sent for support. :flowerforyou:
  • I've been for a long walk tonight. Was a lovely evening, with the sun shining. Managed to get 2.5 litres today. Really enjoying getting back on track. Thanks Coach Shawn

  • Sorry I didn't get to this yesterday. I had an ok day, went to the gym and have started C25K so week 1 day 1 done. Did crumble and had a 500ml bottle of diet pepsi, and some dark chocolate. But life would be so boring without a few treats. Stayed under my calorie goal, so that's good. I'm great at the beginning it's about…
  • HI, I'm 47 years old, and I've struggled all of my life with my weight, I have around 90lb to lose. I've yo-yo'd and tried every diet going. I know what to do, it's just applying it. I've got a fitbit and try to exercise daily, however I keep it up for a couple of weeks and then start slacking. I'm my own worst enemy and…
  • Can I take you home and keep you? :flowerforyou:
  • Just on the border of North Wales, near Chester here. Feel free to add me. :flowerforyou:
  • I'm going to try the standing in front of the mirror every morning to motivate myself. My chocolate habit is curtailed by having 25g bars of dark chocolate. Thank you all for the advice bad tips. :flowerforyou:
  • It's being bored for me, and chocolate is my downfall. But I'm also susceptible to crisps. I've found cassava crisps which are only 85 cals per bag. I've got my mum's 80th birthday in April, and a christening in June, and I'd love to stop this yoyoing before then and fit into a nice dress instead of being the frumpy one.
