  • It sounds like there was just some miscommunicating. My tax return also won't be processed until February 14th because of itemized deductions and legislation not being passed until December. It sounds to me like she was just giving you a heads up on that in case you didn't know. On the other hand, it's her fault that she…
  • Congrats on the wedding! My best friend is getting married in May and I'm her maid of honor so I'm on the same road! I work full time, go to school in the evenings, and am a single mom to a toddler so I get not having a ton of time to exercise. I try my best to fit it in when I can but am focusing more on staying within my…
  • Soy milk, almond milk, rice milk. I prefer almond milk. The vanilla one is especially good as a creamer because it's a little sweet. The unsweetened version is around 40-60 calories for a whole cup.
  • I log mine the same way you do. I try to plan everything at least a day in advance so I make sure I'm going to meet my calorie goal. If I don't have a plan then it's very hard for me to stick to making the right choices. I always try to leave a little room for something extra, just in case.
  • That's the BEST feeling!
  • My brother swears by this recipe and says the onions are the best part: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Fish-Tacos-352976#ixzz1CcqyfpsM There are no nutritional facts but you could enter the recipe in to the recipe tool on MFP and it will calculate all of that for you.
  • Thanks for the advice!
  • My diet profile is set for 1580 per day for 1 pound per week loss. The suggestion someone made for me was to have 2 days at 1280 calories, 2 days at 1880 calories and 3 at 1580 calories. Fluctuating, low, medium, high, medium, low, medium, high.
  • I think that anything you feel is valid. However, I think it's a little extreme to assume that he wouldn't say anything to her. If you run into anyone you know anywhere then you're going to talk to them, right? It would be way more awkward for him to not acknowlege her at all then to have a small conversation. It sounds…
  • Congratulations on your wedding! I am standing up in several weddings this year so I'm trying to look my best for those!
  • I make smoothies sometimes. I use 1/2 cup to 1 cup spinach, kale, or romaine lettuce, a banana (for consistency), any fruit - usually strawberries, blueberries, or mango or a mixture of them, water, ice, and some stevia sweetener. I also squeeze juice from an orange sometimes. It will make a huge serving and you can…
  • Get a good vegetarian cookbook or subscribe to a magazine like Vegetarian Times. They have a ton of amazing recipes and add tons of flavor to your foods. Pretty soon you'll see how much flavor your natural food has in comparison to meats and processed foods.
  • What a fantastic feeling! Good for you!
  • I've maintained the last 2 weeks and it's so discouraging to me! Yes, I had ONE bad day each of those weeks but still. It wasn't bad enough to not even lose a few ounces in TWO weeks, right!?
  • Oatmeal is filling at first but usually doesn't keep me as full for as long as other breakfast options. But, I do make it with pure pumpkin sometimes and that makes it a little more filling. I've also read if you use more liquid than it calls for and do half water and half milk (I use almond milk) then let it sit for…
  • 45 pounds is an amazing accomplishment! I'm sure you'll enjoy your cruise so much more this time around!
  • Good idea! Thanks!
  • I love this cookbook: http://www.amazon.com/Organic-Baby-Toddler-Cookbook-Lizzie/dp/0789471906

  • I think I'm going to do that, too. It seems like it might be extra motivation than just seeing what the scales says. Good for you! :)
  • I LOVE VitaTops. They are small but they still serve their purpose. http://www.vitalicious.com/store-vitatops.html
  • I LOVE Arnold's sandwich thins. They're so good and only 100 calories each. http://www.arnoldbread.com/thins/ For breakfast I usually do a light english muffin or bagel thins. http://www.thomasenglishmuffins.com/Our-Products/Bagels/Bagel-Thins/Thomas-100-Whole-Wheat-Bagel-Thins-Bagels-(8-pack)/Default.aspx

  • I usually fluctuate by about 5 pounds during TOM. I'm sure that's contributing to your fluctuation and discomfort.
  • I feel the SAME way! I always pack a lunch but today they're ordering out. I picked a soup and salad meal but I still don't feel great not knowing down to the exact calorie what they are! I'm also meeting a friend for dinner tonight and am feeling the same way about that. I looked at the menu and I'm going to order a…
  • You can also decrease the calories by using cauliflower in place of potatoes.
  • My response is very similar to yours. A woman at my work is an AMAZING cook. There was an admin meeting in our building today and she made TONS of food. There was so much leftover that she put it in the lunchroom for everyone else to have some. I resisted and stuck to my packed lunch. Normally I would have taken a little…
  • Are you eating enough? Believe it or not, if you aren't eating enough your body could be holding on to your "fat". Think of it like this....if you were out in the wildnerness and had little no food then your body would hold on to what it needed to keep you alive. Of course, you're not stuck in the wilderness so you're not…
  • Canned pure pumpkin in oatmeal, superb!
  • Someone once suggested that I take a few days to log my hunger throughout the day. For instance, wake up at 7am on a scale of one to ten, how hungry am I? Then every 2 hours log your hunger on that scale. The point was to recognize the time of day when I was just starting to get hungry before I was RAVENOUSLY hungry. Once…
