I wouldn't worry too much . . . all of the readings are within 1 lb, which is less than 1% tolerance. That's fairly good compared to a lot of measuring systems in Industry. Your actual body weight day to day is subject to change more than 1 lb due to hydration, sodium, etc . . . so a "perfect" reading is hard to get both…

+1. Proteins are especially important if you're working out. Also, in general, proteins make you feel fuller because it takes your body longer to digest them. So for the same number of calories, you're better off to eat protein than simple sugars, since you're less likely to be hungry soon. I eat a lot of protein. I…

I just bought some vanilla flavored whey protein at Walmart. I don't drink it straight . . . I made this smoothie with it: http://www.food.com/recipe/berry-blast-protein-shake-fruit-smoothie-162123 I don't think I could ever just eat straight protein powder and water, but maybe that's what you're looking to do. The…

Agreed. I just started my third 10-lb challenge with coworkers. The guys that I challenged for the first 2 challenges won't take me on again because I won twice in a row . . . First to lose 10 lbs gets lunch from the other guys/girls. It's a great way to share your new healthy habits and encourage others to meet their…

I struggle with this too - there are a lot of great deals on candy. But think of it this way - you can spend $0 (100% off), not consume the calories, feel better, and meet your goals if you resist the candy. It's a win-win. Out of sight, out of mind - I rarely stand on the scale or look in the mirror and think "man, I…

No. If you really liked each other that much, you'd be together. Plus, do you want to explain this person and your relationship with them to the next person that you date? Most people would be uncomfortable that he is still such a big part of your life - even if they trust you, they may not trust his intentions.

I start over every single day. Whatever has gotten me here has gotten me here. I try to focus on what I need to do to make today a good day. And if I screw up, I'll move on tomorrow. That said, as time goes on, and you have a bunch of good days, your habits start to change, and it becomes easier.

I actually struggle with this. I've never been a "healthy weight" since I was a kid, so I don't really know where I'm aiming for. BMI charts say 144-194 for my height, but that's a huge range. I figured I'd shoot for 200, and see how I look/feel there. If I have more fat to lose, I'll go further.

I have the same problem, but opposite genders . . . my girlfriend can eat whatever she wants, whenever she wants. It's genetic - her 82 year old grandfather eats twice as much as I do, and is all skin and bones. When going out to eat, I've been trying to cut down on caloric beverages - 1 beer instead of two, no soda, etc.…
