I don't have a specific favorite box, but I do seem to prefer the two tier boxes over the single tier. My best purchase was my egg shapers, I use those all the time (and they were super cheap). I don't know that I have anything I wouldn't have purchased, but I watched on here to see what people used most. I definitely use…

I've always been afraid to use steak in the bentos. Did it get chewy being at room temp?
-
Those look amazing! The last batch of homemade gyoza I made did not look anywhere near as pretty. Tasted great, but a sin to look at :grimace:
-
Looks awesome! I got lazy last night and did not put together a bento. So here I sit, hungry and bento-less

Just watched! I love cooking with dog. Husband just asked what's the point of the dog. I told him, there is no point, he's just there. He says oh, okay, well it's cute, anyway and that looked good

I have those baby silicone cups too! They don't sound that small when you buy them and the picture is completely misleading :frowning:

First up, last night's udon. It was a packaged soup mix, I put an egg, chicken and broccoli in it. Just putting the picture here because I like it. 439 calories Second up, today's lunch bento. On the bottom is jasmine rice & forbidden rice, on top is chicken, broccoli, a baybel and not pictured because the cling wrap was…

Ha! I'm watching Gingitsune right now, and Haru-chan is a much different character  And, I don't think I've ever had a non-overcooked schnitzel before. Today's bento, matcha soba, pink shrimp sauteed in sesame oil, broccoli, dry roasted peanuts, a green tea chocolate pack and a ladybug baybel. The lighting doesn't…

Wow! That all sounds face-meltingly spicy :flushed:

You don't need to wait for a bento box, you can start out with plain old gladware or tupperware! I started out with a divided gladware container.

How awful!! Sorry to hear that :frowning: I have like 45 posts to catch up on, but here's today's bento. Rice, dumplings and a bunch of broccoli filler. Needs more color, but I didn't have anything colorful in the house. It's apparently upside down. Not sure how to put it back to rights, so kindly flip your viewing screen…

@eclaire8511 I'm glad you made your first post here! @mangrothian will be so proud when she sees this. Your lunches look great, and I read your entire post

It's because they are shocked! Sorry, totally bad, totally intentional pun. I've always wanted these in my kitchen:
-
We do have those here in the US. I haven't seen that brand, but I have at least two different brands of roasted soybeans in my cabinet right now. I like them as a crisps substitute or in my salads for crunchy stuff. I'll even have them as a stand alone snack. I don't have bento again, but since I had to clean my kitchen I…

No such thing as too big of a salad!!
-
Exactly! My mom always thought it felt a bit like sand until I showed her she was cooking it wrong. Although I'm a big fan of the Israeli cous cous vs the standard "Mediterranean" kind. No bento again today, just a pretty salad. We're on vacation next week, so we're trying to use up all the fresh fruits and veggies.
-
Agreed! I'm pretty impressed you put something so nice together. Today's lunch, pork dumplings, a sliced up plum, broccoli and some leftover rice.
-
No bento, but I did try to make my salad pretty like @sagj does. Normally, I just toss all the stuff on willy-nilly. No dressing as I don't eat it, but the sunflower seeds on the side did get dumped on and mixed in. I also had to sacrifice a perfectly shaped bear egg (ears and everything) as I was out of egg shaped eggs.

Today, another boring one. Broccoli, grilled chicken tenderloins, and brown rice. 344 calories.
-
Oh, what a sweet lunch for a little girl!
-
I had one that would lick the top "sticky" layer off of cakes or breads. So you're thinking, oh, there's still cake, only to find out he licked the whole top clean. At least I wouldn't be sweeping baked goods up for weeks as I'm sure she had "prey" stuffed everywhere!
-
All this banana bread everywhere makes me want some. I made zucchini bread, but came home to a bunch of walnuts on the floor instead of a nice loaf of bread, as my dogs apparently don't like walnuts and spit them out while they dined like kings.
-
Leftover pulled pork that my mom inexplicably had, broccoli and leftover chinese restaurant rice. Odd combo, but it's tasty
-
@madiao I got it here. I bought the green one too. I also just discovered these on Jlist
-
Today is leftover sesame chicken from last night's dinner, rice w/ black sesame & some broccoli. Nothing fancy
-
Congrats on the new job!

Round 2 of pork, broccoli & rice. Today I couldn't fit the carrots in, but I did still get the cranberry/almond mix. I'm now out of broccoli, so not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow. Lunch is 450 cals, snack box is 290. Snacks are a bunny egg, edamame thins, baybel cheese and plums. Bunny egg doesn't come through too…

They look exactly like the picture! That almost never works out for me. Today's bento. Pork tenderloin, cooked in the method someone about 50 pages ago suggested, fried rice mix (no actual fried rice here, it was a rice packet), broccoli, carrots and almond/cranberry mix for sweets. Because it's cute today, I also posted…

Broccoli pizza crust? What is that, sounds...interesting?

No bento for this sad panda today (although I feel like I'm morphing into loser panda) but the two eggs I had for breakfast were a fishie and a bear with no ears, so I had my cutsie smile moment for the day.
