A couple things help me--I either just eat a little of it--a serving or even just half a serving. Or sometimes I try delaying gratification. I'll tell myself, "If I stick to my plan this week, I can have whatever I'm craving (a reasonable portion) on Friday (or whenever)" Then, by the time Friday comes, I either have the…

You can do it, I started off much worse. Walking is a great exercise if the weather permits. If you'd like something you can do at home there are tons of DVDs on the market and dance and fitness games for the Wii, etc. There are apps for strength training, yoga, etc. Just find something you enjoy that gets you moving and…

I'd like to hit 199, that's 8 more pounds and will also be in the overweight range of BMI instead of obese. I've been plugging away, but the scale has been stubborn lately. I'm going to work hard so I can get there!

Golden Retriever--they're the best

Welcome to MFP! My biggest tip is to plan--plan your meals/log ahead if that helps you stick to it. Plan a few easy meals that you can keep on hand when you're too tired to cook. If you're going out to eat, look at the menu ahead of time if you can and figure out a way to make your choice fit into your calories for the…

Not too funny, but I always told my husband that instead of being a Trophy Wife, I was a Monument Wife.

Plan your meals/log in advance when you can. I've heard of some people taking pictures of their plate to remind themselves of what they ate so they can log it later. If you eat the same thing from day to day, it's easy to copy a meal

I eat around 1600 cals/day and a little more on the days I exercise. It's coming off slowly, but I'm never giving up.

I want to live!

Anyone can add me--I'm here for the long haul. I'm pretty quiet, but I log on everyday.

I was a 24+, now 14ish. It's taken about a year and a half and I still need to lose about 50 pounds. I hope to be in a size 8-10 when I finish, which might be another year or two.

I'm 45, married, no kids (except pets, lol). Anyone can friend me. I'm here everyday, but pretty quiet.
-
My exercise is mostly walking--I'm just now starting to run a little. Good for me and my dog.

I'm 45 and here for the long haul. Anyone can add me.

I've lost my weight mostly with walking as my exercise. I'm considering joining a gym now because I'd like to start lifting and swimming. But it can totally be done with just eating less and staying active. Good Luck!

Sometimes when you look at how far you have to go, it seems impossible. Just try to focus on the things you can control. Work on losing one pound at a time and make changes you can live with forever. It's only impossible if you don't try.

For me, it's a lot of telling myself that the old way of doing things didn't work and made my body really unhealthy. I just say "No, that's what got me in trouble--I don't need <insert huge portion of super fattening food>, I can have less (or something healthier)."

I got cancer and diabetes and I don't want to die. Doing what I can to be healthy.

Welcome to MFP! Don't get overwhelmed by the number, just work on developing good habits. Make a plan and don't let yourself fail. Good luck--you can do it!

Female--age 45, 5'9" CW 216 GW 165, maybe a little less Anyone can add me--I'm just plugging along, in it for the long haul.

You can do it! My advice is to plan ahead and always have some quick and easy to prepare meals on hand. I like to keep chicken tenderloins in the freezer that I can grill/saute/bake from frozen when I don't have anything else to fix. Good luck!

I eat chocolate--usually a square of TJs dark chocolate

I'm the same--all my weight is in my boobs/arms. As I've lost weight, the shape has stayed mostly the same, just got smaller. But, I hope that as I get closer to my goal, the weight will come off my problems areas. (It has to, right?)

I'm 5'9" with a large frame SW: 340 CW: 216.5 GW: 165 (maybe more like 150-155 if it's possible) Anyone with similar stats can add me as friend, if you like

You look amazing!! Congrats on the loss!

Let him be responsible for what goes in his mouth. Give him a healthy portion and if he wants more or something else, then let him fix it himself. You can't really do anything except prepare healthy meals. Until it clicks with him, it's no use nagging. Just be a good example with your eating and exercise habits.
-
We have about the same amount left to go--feel free to add me, I'm just plugging along.

I'm 5'9" and have lost some and still have quite a bit to go. It's been coming off slower lately, but I'm motivated and committed. Anyone can add me if they like.

My #1 tip is to plan your day (or week). Don't wait until you're hungry to find something to eat. Make sure you have healthy food to snack on and a few easy low cal meals ready to prepare. I like to pre-log my meals. I can always change or adjust it if I need to, but it really helps me from impulsively grabbing fast food…

I'm curious--the fluctuations don't bother me at all. If I wake up 3 pounds heavier than yesterday, I know I didn't eat 10k extra calories and it isn't fat I gained. It's because I ate too much sodium, took cold medicine, need to poop, or some other mysterious reason. I weigh pretty much every time I go in the bathroom.…
