  • wow, i just started researching this and i'm amazed by your results. You looked about like I do now on your day 1, so this is very very inspiring! you look great!
  • i try to have my kids eat as cleanly as possible - given that they are kids and they are both out of the house in someone else's care for 8 - 10 hours on weekdays, i only have so much control. and given that they are naturally picky eaters (although a lot less picky than most kids) I do let them eat stuff I rarely eat -…
  • i also tie the key into my shoe lace - doesn't bug me at all.
  • haha, Killian! i love 30DS because it's quick and effective. I also have NMTZ and BFBM... trying to decide which one to get next. I want one that is low impact though because my shins can't handle all the jumping around - i am a runner and have had shin splints for years. on days that i pair a run w/ a dvd, my legs kill!
  • YES! because those of us who have stayed thin, not smoked or done drugs, etc most (if not all) of our lives still had to make that choice. we were still faced with all the same temptations as everyone else. after having my babies and being heavier than starting out, could i have just gave in and let myself go? in times of…
  • i only track my loss on one day a week, first thing in the morning, after i pee, and naked. this keeps things consistent, but I still weigh myself every day and often 2 - 3 times a day or more.... i often will weigh before / after workouts, and sometimes before bed. what i find interesting is that i often weigh less in the…
  • I run/walk on M/W/F at lunch and I go home everday after work and do my workout video before picking up the kids. I wish I could workout before work, but I leave the house by 7 each day. Usually, we are all home for the evening by 6.
  • actually, it wasn't a joke. a couple months ago, when I started my diet, he asked me what my goal was. at the time i was 135 and I said, I would like to lose 10 lbs in 2 months (5 lbs a month). The first 5 lbs came off very easily, but now it's all about hard work. Anyways, he went out and bought me something that i've…
  • yay! now if i can just get my sweet hubby to ignore what the scale says! he is expecting me to be at 125 tomorrow, and well, i'm not there, but i'm still losing inches and liking how i look (and feel)!
  • Thanks for the info on the protein. gotta work on that.... Ok, so I'm actually eating 1500 cals daily no matter what I do - whether I exercise or not. If I exercise I do not eat back my exercise calories. If I just do the 30DS, I am only burning 200 cals - so that puts me right at BMR roughly. If I run+30DS, I am burning…
  • requoting myself because i was really hoping someone had an answer for me :D pretty please :D :D :D
  • i'm in the same boat - i swear if i go off my diet for one second i gain 5 lbs back. it's ridiculous! i'm stuck hovering around 130 and can't seem to make any progress...
  • yes, your tummy looks smaller and more toned. definitely a difference! keep it up! i'm in the same boat as you - us that have less to lose and more to just firm up - it seems to take longer
  • i think you're confusing your BMR w/ maintenance calories. you actually should be eating (netting) close to your BMR - you should be creating a calorie deficit from your maintenance cals. so to figure this out go to settings / goals and change your goal to maintain - this should be different than the number that MFP gives…
  • that one and also this one on the same site: http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators/calorie-calculator.html those two and the other one someone posted a few posts back all have me at about 2100 for normal TDEE.... so i think i'm going to up my daily calories to about 1600 a day and not count my exercise calories (since i…
  • I just did this one, and it says my BMR is 1344 and my TEE is 2160 - i did not calculate in any intentional exercise as I figure I can calculate that into my calorie deficit that I want to create. So if I want to lose a lb a week, then I would need to net 1660 cals a day! that seems really high and i'm seriously afraid to…
  • i'd rather just eat real peanut butter and get all the nutrition that comes with it. i don't mind sacrificing the calories - i just do half a serving size on my pb sandwich :)
  • how can peanut "spread" be 0 calorie - doesn't sound very natural....
  • how awful :( it's always a fear that i push to the back of my mind when I step outside for a run. i hate that we have to fear doing something we love, it should be this way, but it is. so sad for Sherry and so sad for her family.
  • thanks. i think i'll shoot for around 1300 net cals a day - give or take and see how that goes....
  • i also love to dump my chili on my salad :) no dressing required then... or if i mix in chicken, a tad bit of cheese, nuts, other stuff that has flavor, there is no need for dressing i much rather add in filling/nutritional calories in place of calories from nonfilling/nonnutritional salad dressing that only serves for…
  • ok, thanks. so you think that i am not losing because MFP has me set too low then? i want to lose 10 for sure... at 125 i may just want to tone up and not necessarily lose.
  • juice of a lemon, salt / pepper, and olive oil :D
  • So do you think that my thinking is correct? My BMR is 1382 My TDEE is 1760 I am going to aim for 1200 - 1300 net calories a day.
  • I would think that you should eat at least half of your exercise calories back... If I were to go based off my BMR, i should be eating 1382 cals a day. If I were to burn about 400 a day, that would only net me at just under 1,000 a day, which is at least 200 -300 less than what I should be at according to my TDEE stats…
  • thanks - i am specifically trying to make sure i'm eating enough, so this is helpful. i did originally start out w/ .5 lbs as my goal - as it is MFP won't let me go below .8 lbs loss a week. i do want to lose more than 10 lbs eventually, but 10 lbs is my starting goal. When I get to 125, I want to reassess and then go in 5…
  • the not eating back your calories thing just doesn't seem right if you are set at eating only 1300 cals a day and burning almost 500 - that would mean your net is only 800 cals a day. that is not enough. maybe that is for you, but not for me, i know, i would be starving. i just figured out that for my weight, height, age,…
  • thanks! it seems like there are a lot of us in this boat.... i have been taking my measurements at least. i haven't done pics yet, but i think maybe i should. i know i love seeing other people's pics of success :)
  • like i said, i always try to eat back my exercise calories - I love food way too much to not do so...LOL only one day i couldn't this week because i exercised so much, but i allowed myself to go over yesterday because of that, so hopefully it balanced out a bit. i am mostly concerned that maybe MFP has me set at too low of…
