Planks, push-ups, and my favorite, bear crawls. When I'm in the heavy travel time of year, I'm doing those three things in my hotel room. Even with limited space, one can do bear crawls in a circle (think spinning).

Feel free to add me. Warning: nothing special in my diary.

I would strongly encourage folks to do some due diligence about metabolism rather than take what's being presented here as opinion, as truth. Unfortunately, metabolism does indeed slow down (don't take my word for it, research it). Yes, it does take more work the older we get. And so what if it does? One can make the…

Do you use Spotify at all? There are plenty of playlists on there for working out. I used to listen to one in particular and then created my own just because I like knowing where I'm at it n my routine. The list I subscribed to always shuffled the order.

My two used to do plank competitions while waiting to see the doctor. They were 3 and 6 at the time. Now the College Sophomore comes home in summer and is on the treadmill, doing planks and push-ups in our basement and the Sophomore in HS would rather walk than get a ride and is ripped...now if I could just get him to trim…

Used to do the treadmill, it killed my knees. Even now when I do my warm down walk on it, I can't go over 3 miles without issues. I've been working a heavy bag for just over a year now and a double-end bag just under a year. I absolutely love it. Learned how to use the heavy bag when I was a little kid but literally hadn't…

Not knowing any specifics (and not looking for any) I will only say one needs to be careful when it comes to things fitting. I am a coach. Many of my kids go off to college and continue playing our sport. In their off season they weight train. The first bit of advice every alum gives our kids for their freshman year,…

"Comin' out - Feelin' about - 10 pounds lighter!" - Ice Cube (Steady Mobin) Based off that sage data, how can one afford NOT to weigh post evacuation?

Yes and my culprit was/is asthma. I am supposed to use an inhaler. The first two times it happened to me, I didn't realize I had asthma. The second time it happened I blacked out for a moment. That's when I figured it's time to ask the doc. Any time since then, it's most likely because I didn't take my inhaler.

Do what your body tells you is okay. Some can do 2x with a lot of intensity, some can do 2x with light intensity, etc... I do 2x, twice a week and 1x twice a week. I always do my cardio/boxing routine which is an hour (has some body weight strength thrown in) and then on Tuesdays and Thursdays I also hit a weight room in…

I don't go to a gym but I do use boxing as my cardio. Switched to it after getting tired of my knees killing me on the treadmill. I haven't looked back. The first day I used a heavy bag I think I lasted 10 minutes. A year later, I am able to do 50 with push-ups thrown in. I use both a heavy bag and a double-end bag. Aside…

As a VB coach I can tell you my kids do 200 squats as part of our warm-up routine and when we break for water, it's 3 minutes of planks. They will also do a variety of push-ups after a drill....and we have a lot of fun so....volleyball is what you want to do. ;) I'm a club coach and we also have our own facility so we also…

I don't do a gym (workout at home and a practice facility) but I would imagine if I were in a gym the thought would be the same... "**** I'm tired!"

I will second what @PixelPuff wrote. Succinct and accurate.
-
I don't spar but I do use boxing as my cardio for about 45-60 minutes for my routine. Double-end bag and heavy bag.

Boxing. I used to run on our treadmill. It was killing my knees (sport related). I was doing 5-8 miles daily. Switched up to a heavy bag and haven't looked back.

Turning 47 in less than 24 hours. Feel free to add.

I never stress over holiday and "diet." It's a small period of time and it doesn't mean I'm eating that way for a month. Now, the candy that can be pilfered from the little ones can last for days. That's more difficult. As for dinner, I'll be eating ham for days, sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole until it…

I'm in a cycle right now where I'm not home on weekends. 3-4 days every week for the better part of the last month with a couple more before it ends for a little while. All I eat is restaurant or bar food on the road and the healthy choices aren't stellar. It's difficult. At least in my case I'm home during the week so I…

I will second the Polar H7. I use that in conjunction with the Polar Beat app.

It's likely an oversimplification in general but for me Discipline = Motivation. Find discipline and motivation follows naturally.

The only strength I can do is body weight. Workout in basement. I mix cardio and body weight together with exception to pull-ups.

In the world I spend the majority of my time in, it's full of Athletic Trainers. People whose sole purpose is to assess athletes and their issues when they arise. The NHS system you describe sounds like a nightmare. My experience is trainer says, "X," get a referral to a sports medicine doctor, and off you go. So, my…

If your GP has a lot to be desired, request a different one. This isn't something to self-assess with a Doctorate from Google U. This is something that can need surgery to fix. See a doctor. Don't like your doctor; get a different one. Suffering a god-complex, see a psych.

Just mentioned this on another thread but Polar's H7 is one of, if not the most accurate HRM out there. I use mine in conjunction with the A300 watch. Polar also has a couple of nice apps to use. Polar Beat and Polar Flow. I almost exclusively use Beat but will plug into Flow to check my sleep pattern from time to time.
