You may want to try a different pair of shoes. Before I started jump rope for my cardio, I used our treadmill. I hate running but I needed something. I have a ton of shoes from one brand because I get them for free. Every year I would cycle through another pair. For the longest time I was fine until I hit 3 miles. Once I…

Been active for quite a while (1525 day streak). Don’t have a ton of friends but feel free to add. I have a raging sweet tooth to deal with. I joke with people that it’s the reason I work out as much as I do.

Enjoy the occasional indulgences. It is possible to be healthy, lead a healthy lifestyle and have a piece of pie or Rice Krispie bar every once in a while. Been married for nearly 24 years. As a coach, fitness has been a part of my life more than it hasn’t and believe me, when it wasn’t, it really wasn’t. That said, I…

Like you, I used to drive myself nuts if I was going over. I went over last night and yesterday was my “day off.” If you are largely consistent with your routine, don’t worry about it. I would look at your last seven days for comparisons rather than one day. I would also reconsider worrying about weight and perhaps reframe…

Committed. Passionate. Relentless.

I once tried correcting my wife. It’s what I do. I’m a coach. She told me to let her exercise the way she wants to and I haven’t said anything since. Her body. Her choice. Her workout. I needed to remember I’m a coach in the gym and with my athletes. Outside of the gym, I’m only a coach when I’m asked about something. I’m…

Clase Azul - Absolute favorite. Straight. No ice.

Bear crawls. Planks. Pushups.

Sennheiser Momentum’s. Had a pair of jaybirds and for some reason they simply stopped connecting to any device I had. They were fine. Slipped out every now and then. Bought a pair of Sennheisers less than a year ago and they have been amazing! I do need to adjust my right bud every once in a while during jump rope…

If you experience pain: 1) Don’t do it 2) See a doctor and then get a referral to a specialist. I wouldn’t simply leave it at number 1. People ignore pain like it’s simple soreness. Your body is speaking to you; listen to it. My job is dealing with athletes. The amount of athletes that dismiss pain drives me nuts. 2 weeks…

I prefer cardio after strength because the studies have shown the metabolic burn lasts much longer after the workout. So, if ones goal is to lose weight, this would be a good pattern. Different goals may mean a different pattern. My suggestion is to look up some actual studies. This place is good for learning what people…

On this site, anecdotes are all you need, apparently.

Started a “Sugar-Free” summer on June 1. It ends in two days. I’ve passed on donuts, graduation cake, birthday cake, countless bits of candy, ice cream, tubs of caramel corn....As of last Friday, it was the easiest 10 pounds I’ve dropped. I’m a bit hesitant about claiming the second 5 pounds as that was pretty recent but…

My best advice is to invest in a Heart Rate Monitor. Research a bit, find the one that is the most accurate and fits into your budget. Mine is a beat off but it’s been fantastic and getting it is when I started turning the corner.

Most of my year consists of working out in my home. I have a facility when our team is in season. Bear crawls, Planks, Squats with a weighted vest and sandbag. Bear crawls are my favorite. If you have some space: heavy bag and double end bag. Usually hit those once to twice a week.

I used to use a pre-workout but now only use it if I really really need it (and I haven’t “needed” it in months). My caution is check the label. If it contains Higenamine, make sure it’s okay for you. It can react poorly with certain medications and it’s also a banned substance in many sport orgs such as WADA, NCAA, etc...…

I’m sure by now you’ve received the overwhelming feedback about choices. Just want to chime in and let you know you aren’t alone. I like my fitness level. It’s not necessarily shared by family. I love candy. My sweet tooth is ridiculous. I made the decision to do a “sugar-Free” summer. Not going away from fruit and natural…

Single leg deadlifts w/kettle bell or dumbbell

I had jaybirds for about two years and they suddenly stopped connecting to anything. Even support couldn’t help. They were okay for general workouts but even bear crawls I had to keep adjusting them. Moved on to a pair of fully wireless Sennheiser Momentum’s and absolutely love them. I don’t run but for cardio I do heavy…

I’d say pay attention to your macros. Eat what you want but try and fit it in there.

Like GI Joe used to say, “....and knowing is half the battle.” 😉

I may not always comment but I will always try and interact. Feel free to add me if you want.

Mine is public. It’s not all that interesting when I’m doing a lot of meal prep (same stuff day after day), but every once in a while it may be.

Great job!

At first my wife was the opposite of helpful and would almost shame me for changing things. Eventually she stopped. I now Meal Prep for the week for most of my meals (I have a weird schedule so it’s also necessary as I also do IF). Every once in a while she will buy things she knows I can’t say no to but for the most part…

I have a polar watch and HRM and both are tied into the Polar Beat app which “talks” to my Apple Health app which in turn “talks” with MFP. When I begin and end my workout (boxing, core, running, etc...) it automatically syncs with MFP and inputs all data.

Mirror. Not necessarily how one may think. The most realistic motivation is self-motivation. Intrinsic motivation. The desire to make change and the discipline to maintain it. Sorry, it’s the coach in me. Everyone can ‘do it.’ It always comes down to how badly one wants it. You wrote about weight loss and healthier…

Have you tried contacting Jeff, directly and asking for details? Zero contact with him or his programs but do follow on IG and he seems fairly open to answer questions.

@BrianSharpe I’m going with that one! I can do 60-80 calf raises with a weighted vest (45#) religiously and they don’t get bigger. Drives me bananas.

I am the complete opposite. I absolutely hate the cold. Don’t get me wrong. I love snowfall but it gets old by mid January. I’ve lived through winters shoveling snowdrifts on my sidewalk taller than me. So much snow in one season it was getting difficult to find a place to put it. I was having to heave it over the already…
