It won't calculate calories for lifting. If you aren't sure if it is connecting or not, simply select a cardio option like running or walking and you will see a circle above the activity indicator (for lack of a better phrase) and in that circle will be your heart rate. If you see the heart rate, everything is connected.…

Doctor. Period. End of story. I've seen a number of athletes with compartment syndrome. It sucks. Not something you need to gather information on and self-assess.

As said above, rest. Any injury like you describe needs rest. There are things you can do and keep exercising but if that exercise involves the hamstring, chances are you are prolonging full recovery. It's why lower body injuries are the worst. We walk from point A to point B so all of those muscles are being used,…

I work out at home. Have never had a gym membership in my adult life. Have been consistently been logging food and exercise since April and am down 20 pounds. All I have is a heavy bag, double end bag (new), a stand for bar dips, a treadmill and a mat. Use the treadmill for a 30 minute walk at the end of main workout.

Polar Beat is also great.

FWIW, learn proper technique and then create your own routines. You may find its easier to push a bit harder. Also, hand wraps and 16 oz. gloves (NOT Everlast).

Just stretch afterwards. Stretch a bit before bed as well. When our season starts, my athletes have been known to throw themselves out of bed in the morning, fall into seats, and go down steps on their rear ends. First day is brutal with anything if/when the body isn't used to it. If you are the adventurous type, ice bath.

It's always amazing. Question asked. One either has an answer or not. It wasn't a solicitation for opinion.

I'm a coach so......I made my kids compete all of the time. They once had a plank competition in the doctors room while waiting for him. They killed it at 4+ minutes and then the doc walked in so they had to stop. I think they were 4 and 7 at the time. When she was 4 my daughter wanted to run lines in the backyard. Lol…

Find what makes you happy and start paying attention to what you eat. Working out doing something that makes you miserable will simply find you backing off/out. Your calorie intake is probably more important right now. Focus on your food choices and a colorie deficit. You can lose weight without working out making some…

Typically between 90-105 minutes / day in total and from 1,400-1,500 calories burned / day.

I love heavy bag work. It's the foundation of my routine right now. FWIW, here is what I do 4-5 times/week: - iPad setup with Spotify and then Timer. - After each song, I do 10 push ups. - The first two songs are light work. I'm not hitting the bag much and when I do it's light. More shadow boxing than heavy bag. - I begin…

Bear crawls. Forwards, backwards, sideways, in circles. Love them.

God.....its 10:30 and now all I can think about is the beer and Wisconsin cheese I have in my fridge. I'm not reading community posts past 9:00 ever again.

I have a vicious sweet tooth so I find a happy medium with frosted shredded mini-wheats.

When I'm working (sport camps) I can kill 17-20,000 steps a day. On normal coaching days I can get 9-10,000. My workouts don't do it alone. I can usually only pull 6-8 out of that. I don't sweat the steps too much on days when I am burning a good load of calories.

Why can't we edit our posts? I meant the H7. Fat fingers.

I don't get a lot of support but I don't get blow back either. Usually just eye rolls in the beginning. Never once a word about how I look but frankly, I don't care. I'm not losing it for her in the first place.

Along with Flow, I suggest getting the Polar Beat app as well. I have the A300 along with the H8 HRM.

I don't know about kickboxing but I work a heavy bag, boxing, just over 35 minutes 5 days a week and love it and it's been great for me. Every once in a while I think about throwing some kicks for old time sake (was in Tae Kwon do when I was a child) but that would require stretching.....and these days I need to stretch to…

@BeeQueen2016 Your example is likely working whether either of you realize it or not. It's embedded and intrinsic. He's 16. Everything for many/most 16 year olds is extrinsic. Intrinsic be damned and placed on hold. At some point he will likely move past what others think about him and when he gains that confidence, your…

I do a few different things independently but I do also use an app for abs called, Instant Abs (iOS). A variety of workout choices/routines along with the length of time each routine runs. I simply use the standard version and it more than serves its purpose. There is also a premium option but I've never bothered to see…

Bingo. I'm guilty of going bananas looking at my daily intake but the reality is when I look at the week I'm still at a healthy deficit. Case in point, last weekend I was in an airport and hit an Outback in the terminal. Had the chicken something or other sandwich and fries and nearly hit my daily intake in one sitting. If…

I've been stuck at a weight that is 15 pounds more than my "goal." The first question I have to ask myself is, "Is my goal realistic?" My answer: Nope. My original goal was getting back to a weight I was at when my metabolism didn't have an off switch. I'd still like to lose some more weight and believe it's more realistic…

Love my GoPro. Hate the GoPro studio for PC. My Mac OS is old and I'm not able to DL it so I can't speak to it. I export everything to my iPad for it and edit everything in iMovie. My favorite part is making accessories for it but there are a ton of great ones out there. I use it nearly weekly with the work I do.

One word, Netflix.

End up hitting me once or twice a year. I always get the club and I never eat the whole thing and not because I don't love it. It's a lot of sandwich....and I get a shake.

Like any exercise, if you don't like it you should find something else. One doesn't need a gym membership for a good cardio burn. Jump rope, Heavy Bag Boxing ($70-$100 for a bag), the list goes on. I forced myself to run and although I loved the results, I always hated running. I dreaded it every time I put my shoes on.…

I find the longer I wait, the harder it is. I love getting stuff done in the morning because it means I don't have to think about it any more. I also like starting the day with more calories (earning through exercise) and eating accordingly the rest of the day.
