You all have dragged me back into this thread LOL So here is where I'm at with my running: Haven't been able to get big long runs due to heat All over the place with figuring out what to do (I need a coach) Last weekend decided to give Garmin Coaching a try Garmin Coaching is adaptive so I get a week at a time Garmin…

Oh, and I had to laugh about the Garmin outage. They don't know how long it'll last. I was thinking "sure I finally decide to use Garmin coaching and Garmin goes down". I should have tomorrow & Sunday's runs in my watch (because those were set up & synced Monday) but if it goes longer I'm right back at WTF do I do? Just…

@TheMrWobbly Unfortunately no. It's US only. I wish it was. I have had other people outside the US interested. I would guess it's the shipping costs. ☹
-
My weight only slightly down but it's going in the right direction so 👍🏻 Any other garmin users not sure what to do without the app? Lol I see all these people uploading manually to strava and I'm like nah. I don't want to delete the extra data when it finally uploads. I did snap a quick photo of my watch after my run so I…

@ddmom0811 the furnishings look very much like a staged beach house. Not my style either but I do like the margarita glasses 🤣

I did 10 minutes on the bike after weight lifting. Reduced resistance to nada then brought it up to a good spot for me. I think I need to raise the handlebars. I just put it together at the lowest spot. Seat and pedals seem good but handles feel low. 10 minutes was 2.3 miles per the little display.
-
Since you all liked my lunch the other day, here is today's.
-
Oh, I was going slow and had only slight resistance hahahaha
-
So I thought Id hop on the bike and do a 10-15 minute test ride before work. I did 2.5 minutes and was like I'm dead 🤣 Oh how humbling a new workout can be (or something you haven't done in YEARS)

Don't feel like an idiot. Most of us would do the exact same thing. What about seeing a sports doctor of some type? Make sure it's not something more? I know sometimes it's actually a hip issue or another part of the body that manifests elsewhere because of compensation.

I already signed up for the free trial at les mills. I was browsing last night & they have SO many options! Dance classes! Core work. I have until 8/5 to decide. I picked the annual price so it's like 9.99/month. I always hoose the annual over monthly if it's a deal. Lol

Meet our newest family member. 😍 @bearly63 yay! Thank you! I am doing way too many virtual races but it's all I have right now LOL I had my dessert thinking that was it for today but I still have 300ish calories and I'm hungry. Off to raid the kitchen!

@elise4270 My dad died in October so then Halloween. His birthday is in November (sometimes on Thanksgiving). My uncle died in December so then Christmas. It was a hell of a last quarter that year. I feel for DD. Birthdays will be hard for her. Ugh. I can't even imagine.

@quilteryoyo I think leaving at 1 is perfectly valid and you shouldn't feel guilty. Your reason is very personal and understanable. I think most people would understand especially those that have lost someone close to them. I usually honor my dad on his bday as opposed to the day he passed (I've been too sad on that day).…

@kgirlhart I hope all goes well 🖤

Oh I don't think I mentioned it in here but I bought an exercise bike on Amazon. It should be delivered today. I wanted to get some cross training in & it's something both DH & I can use (unlike a treadmill which would be all me). I looked at several apps (zwift, les mills, peloton) and I think I am going to try les mills.…

I'm trying to give the garmin coaching a fair try. So far, I've done 2 runs and both were short (2.5 and 2.35). I had been doing at least 3 miles on non long run days so it feels wrong. Friday is a 45 minute run and 70 on Saturday. I know the plan adjusts. I put it I was doing 20-25 miles a week so hopefully it picks up a…

I like the sleeping late & drinking coffee! Yah, not much use worrying now. Wait until you know more.

@elise4270 I saw the Dbacks were doing their race virtually this year. I wasn't exactly paying attention to the game but the race caught my attention 🤣 What do you need to discuss with the nursing school? Physical limitations?
-
If you want to submit time & get the finisher certificate it needs to be completed by 10/4. Otherwise, whenever you want.

Hey all. Just dropping in to cross post from FB group. I have a favor if you want to do a virtual group run. I have always been obsessed with Scooby Doo and now there's a race. Virtual of course. They are giving free buffs to groups of 15 or more. I want a buff. So I made a group! You can do a 5 or 10k. Run or walk. You…

@ddmom0811 Those are my parents plates from the 80s. Apparently they have lead but I've been using them for almost 40 years! In running news, I posted this in the FB group but in case some aren't in there... I have a favor if you want to do a virtual group run. I have always been obsessed with Scooby Doo and now there's a…

I'm feeling super hungry today so will probably go over my calories. With vacation I was under my calories but walking quite a bit & since I got back I went back to my routine. Food today has been mostly healthy choices. Lots of fruit & veg. Today's lunch:
-
@elise4270 I believe there are still limitations to going to Cuba. It's easier than before but I believe you have to have a reason not just vacation. I remember only because I'd love to photograph there but I'd have to go in an organized educational photography tour. I could be wrong. It's been a while.

@shanaber I renewed my library card and have been doing ebook checkouts. Maybe reading something other than news? Arts & crafts can take up time. I read once to think about what you did as a kid and pick that back up as an adult because it's probably something you really like.
-
I decided to attempt a Garmin Coach 10k plan. It looks like it adapts as you go? I chose Greg McMillan. I dunno, I am tired of planning my own runs LOL
-
@elise4270 even if she doesn't use it now she may feel compelled later.
-
@shanaber yes, we have a split one because I prefer a firmer mattress and I had to work my way up on the adjustable part. We also have the one where the feet come up. Sometimes I'll do post long run naps with the feet part raised. It was expensive but so worth it.
-
@shanaber @quilteryoyo Loud snoring can also be post nasal drip. My dh snored loudly and would do the sleep apnea stop breathing but it was allergies. He got prescription nose spray and adjustable bed & it's made a HUGE difference.

I didn't read everything. @elise4270 Promptly has a grief journal & workbook. I ordered them after my dad died but haven't gotten around to them yet. I need to do that. https://promptlyjournals.com/collections/healing-journals/products/grief-and-remembrance-journal-bundle We also have separate blankets. We can deal with…
