A looooong time ago I was at my ideal "goal weight" (according to bmr charts) and I got asked all the time if I was sick! I'm pretty tall (5'8") so being that weight made me look terrible. As long as my blood pressure, etc. are on track I'll be happy with a higher bmr, even if it keeps me out of the "healthy" bmr category.

I have just started taking fiber. I never thought it would work so well, but I'm now convinced!

Cracks me up that you know the record for the biggest poop!

I totally know the feeling! When I started out I could only walk for 15 mins. Slowly I've gotten up to an hour but it took time (3 months) Walking with the dog helps, for sure. Keep at it!

I so know the feeling! This week I've only lost .8 oz! I know a loss is a loss but I busted my a** this week with the exercise, stayed under my calorie goals and to see .8 oz is very discouraging. I even told my husband this morning that I'm giving up. But then I came to my senses and thought, " just stick with it, it'll…

I love the smart ones Santa Fe rice but I've had to stop eating pre made meals because I'm really watching my sodium, and as others have mentioned they are pretty high in that. Buy if sodium isn't a concern for you then I think the pre made meals are an excellent tool. Especially after a hard day they are better then…

I plan at least 1 day in advance sometimes 2. That way in the morning I already know what I'm having and I don't have to guess and make a calorie mistake. Also knowing what I'm going to have makes taking lunch/snacks with me on the go easier. I would definitely recommend planning!

Bump Cuz I need encouragement!

Cream of wheat?

Mahi mahi burgers! Had one for the first time this week, and although I don't really like fish, I LOVED these! Hooked!!!

Thank you for the info! I see your husband is in the Armed Services. May God Bless him and your family!

I am in the same boat! 29 lbs and not only do I NOT see it, but no ones mentioned that it looks like I have lost weight. It can be discouraging, I know. But I think at the higher weights (sw: 325; cw: 295) its harder to tell right away. Just keep at it and know that you've done an awesome job and the results will be "seen"…

I'm am 47 also (well, in November I'll be) and I walk 5-6 times a week. I usually start out strong on Monday with a longer then usual walk and walk at least 2 miles the rest of the week, BUT by Friday/Saturday I am EXHAUSTED! So on those days I walk about a mile. For me it's about making myself get out there. Even if I…

Bump. Would really like some opinions....

I too am 47 and although I'm doing more exercise then I have EVER done the weight is much slower to come off. I have come to be happy with a 1-2 lb. per week lose instead of the 5 lb I used to have when I was younger. I reduced carbs, sodium as well. I try to keep my fiber up with my food instead of taking a supplement. I…

Go to food/settings. There you can add. But not on the app, just pc

I don't know how you're doing it! I have my sodium set to 2500 mg (that'd what some website told me was "normal" for women) and I have a hard time staying under that. So good hub at staying under 1500! I'm gonna borrow some of your food ideas so that I can lower mine as well. With that said, I think you sodium is just fine!

As I was reading this I was thinking, " this woman is me!" I plan my meals days out also, am always looking for recipes on line for how to make lower cal meals, etc. I would love to be your friend if you'd like.

I hope so too! Keep me posted.

I don't eat exactly the same thing everyday but I pretty much rotate the same several meals around. Oatmeal or eggs - breakfast Sandwich or soup - lunch Chicken/veges or beef/veges - dinner This way meal planning is easier (I tend to plan for several days out). It does get boring sometimes but that's when I vary up stuff…

I noticed you have 5 kids; I have 6. So I totally know those days of "why, what's the use?" I call this mommy burn out (actually its what my husband calls it cuz he's the one that has to pick up the pieces) It's hard for people that don't have a ton of kids to understand; you give it ALL to them and then just don't have…

I tell them, "I found this magic thing that's totally helped me!" "What they ask" with wonder and anticipation. "Eat less, move more" I say. And when they look at me upset cuz I didn't give them the "magic solution" I tell them that I'm also watching my carbs/fats/protein/fiber/sodium. That's when they get really upset and…

I too have been eating every 2 hours or so because years ago I heard it helps with metabolism but I'm starting to question that as my weight loss has been verrrrry slow. I've actually been thinking about changing to 3 square meals a day to see if that works better. I think might do that starting next week just to see what…

What a great idea! I'm gonna start this!

That's Is great! Congrats!

I totally feel your pain! Working harder, watching what I eat, and nothing happens :( I'm just holding out hope that what everyone says is true: "It'll happen, just keep it up!" So my advice to you : "It'll happen, just keep it up!" :)

Walk for 1 hour. A true NSV as the scale is not budging!
