  • This site has tons of helpful tools. The BMI calculator helps you to know if your expectations of weight loss are realistic (Found under tools) The friends and forum are great for feedback, advice and support. (Found on the home page and under community) If you cook at home much, but don't know how to figure nutrition…
  • I just love reading about you all and I'm super excited about all the new friends that I already have just by putting this team together. One of our crew members had a great idea! Adellepuppy went out and found several "Moxie" pics that she uploaded into her profile pics. If you are interested in having one of hers, feel…
  • I forgot to mention about reporting calorie burns. I don't have a problem going and "stealing" your numbers as long as I have access to your diaries (I would wait until the following morning to "steal" them to allow for a complete and finished number if the challenge will allow me to wait that long), but I would prefer you…
  • I would like to report that Moxie is ready to set sail, I mean, begin rowing. Our crew is currently full and consists of the following dedicated crewmembers: (1) ccrawshaw - captain (2) dcrawshaw (3) loveleeb (4) katbass (5) abra526 (6) adellepuppy (7) skylar1907 (8) rebecca_florida (9) seasidebeachgirl (10) melaniep_tx…
  • Yay, Windy!!!! That's works out great for us and for you!!
  • I'll start the intros (but Windy beat me to it while I was typing... ). My name is Casey Crawshaw. I'm single, never been married. I have two dogs (Boo & Sadie), two cats (Katydid & Stitch) and a horse (Kobe). I'm definitely an animal lover! I bought my first house about a year and a half ago and have been immersed…
  • Don't let it intimidate you. Just explore! Friend people. If they're mean, not present or unsupportive, unfriend them. Listen to others' advice, but find what works for you! Stick with it! Friend me if you'd like.
  • I've only done two, 30 Day Shred and Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. I really liked both, but I do wish that she wasn't promoting doing the exact same workout consecutively for such a long time. I found that after about 4 days, my body (and mind) were just sick of the same old thing. Ideally, I believe that every other day…
  • I'll actually complete Phase I on the 28th. I bought the program because I wanted the results, but I let it intimidate me, too. Finally, I just set a D Day and pushed play. Last night I completed week 3 and I'm loving it! Feel free to add me if you'd like. :)
  • If there are still two openings left, you can count myself and my mom (dcrawshaw) in!! I'm 30, single and have two dogs (Boo Bear & Sadie), two cats (Katydid & Stitch) and a horse (Kobe). I get my calories burned pretty much any way possible. Sometimes it's cutting firewood, walking, running, biking, water aerobics, P90X,…
  • I started P90X on June 1 and really like it so far. My one bellyache about it is the time commitment (an hour plus everyday is a lot, IMHO). I wear my HRM for each workout, but on the strength training days your calorie burn is going to be, well, disappointing. The reason for this is that you don't typically get your heart…
  • I love Mexican, especially in the summer! Thanks for sharing.
  • I agree with everyone else. DO NOT RUN THROUGH the pain!! When I first started working out (really working out regularly and for an extended period of time) at the end of January, my knees bothered me as well. Mainly some soreness, not really pain. Since I started working out, I've actually lost less than 10 pounds (which,…
  • Kudos to you for how you've handled this. Great feeling, too, by the way.
  • Great job!!! A 5k is as much a mental race as it is a physical one.

  • First and foremost, ROFL!!!! Second, we also call them PEBCAC errors at my work. Problem Exists Between Computer And Chair
  • Can definitely see a difference!!!! Great job!
  • LorinaLynn is right. As you settle into your new eating habits, you will find foods that you didn't think twice about before. Foods that are much, much healthier and will help you feel full for longer with fewer calories. You also will find new cooking techniques that will help with this also. A tip that I have learned is…
  • At 5'7", I don't feel the need to start jogging until 5 mph, but I also know that a very comfortable walking speed for me is 3.6 and my mother (who is 5'3") has to jog about half the time to keep up with me at that pace.
  • You don't have to add new exercises, just use the ones that already exist and override the calories that auto-populate. :)
  • When I first got my HRM, my resting heart rate was between 70 and 75. After one month of working out, I checked it again and found it to be between 52 and 55. I'm shocked that I fall into the "athlete" category on the spreadsheets that you posted. Interesting! Very interesting! P.S. I would not consider myself an athlete…
  •    Oh, wait.... what?! :blushing: :noway:

  • I was shocked at first when I started losing. I didn't lose any (it seemed anyway) in my boobs, but then all of a sudden.... yep, every bra started getting big! Not sure exactly what happened, but I'm really liking that they are smaller. It's easier to work out plus the bras are WAY cuter (it's amazing how pretty they can…

  • BUMP = Bring Up My Post
  • - Can I wear it for 24 hours to get an estimate of how much my body uses in a day? I know it would be a rough estimate, not taking into account differences in muscle mass... You can wear them as long and as frequently as you want, but like melissatacker says, don't wear it in water unless it is designed to withstand being…
  • FearAnLoathing It is true that if you can't be honest with yourself, having an open diary is not likely to help, but it sounds to me like you need friends, not "friends". I feel as though my friends on MFP are truer than those that I have in the real world (no politics and other crap to get in the way).
