Well, the total calorie count on WW depends. Approximately 50 calories per point is a close guestimation, BUT for foods high in fiber, you get a "break" on calories. Meaning that if you eat a lot of fiber, you will end up eating more than 1200 calories. But that was the old school way (like 10 years ago) and I much prefer…

I felt like getting my portions under control was the first step and with that came a "shrunken" stomach that continued to make it easier. Once you start falling out of your clothes, the drive really kicks in! Congrats and stay strong!

My trick/tip/pointer is to implement changes into your life as you are ready for them so as not to become overwhelmed and fall off the wagon. It will take longer to lose the weight, but it's about sticking with it and creating a lifestyle that you can maintain for the rest of your life. Welcome, good luck and I really look…

I'm ONLY 5'7", but my initial goal weight is 160 and my ultimate goal weight is 150. Years ago (about 8) I lost down to 145 and felt really good, but I was considerably younger. Plus I noticed that as I gained a little of it back, I got lots of compliments on how I looked. As some one who turns 30 within the next couple…

Welcome! You're more than welcome to add me as a friend if you'd like. I can understand the time demands as I only completed my undergraduate program a couple weeks ago. That on top of working FT, recently purchasing my first house which has been lots of work to remodel and attempting to keep up with my business made it…

I just bought three of her videos yesterday (30 Day Shred, Burn Fat Boost Metabolism and Yoga Meltdown) and I can't wait to work out tonight. I'll probably regret it tomorrow, but 'No Pain, No Gain' right? I like Jillian. Her work outs are great and she's the type of trainer that I would need if I were on the show, but I…

I like fat free honey dijon. I'm not sure about the sugars, but there is no fat and only 50 calories per serving.

I'm SO excited to see you on here! Congratulations on finding a wonderful site and resource. MFP has loads of supportive people on it and tons of tools that will help you along the way. I wish you all the success and dedication necessary to complete your journey. :)

I found it interesting that their weight tickers were arranged exactly like ours in the sense that the higher weight was on the left instead of their goal weight being on the right. It's almost as though they are even admitting that they are regressing instead of progressing toward a goal. Just an observation....

I agree wholeheartedly!!! This is how I'm going to eat for the rest of my life and some things are just not feasible to give up forever, but in moderation.... I can definitely do that!!!
-
This is SO great to hear! Still with it, you're doing great!

I haven't even started thinking about pull-ups yet. LOL

Hi, Megan. You'll find tons of great support and many useful tools on this site. I wish you all the success on your journey!

Great to see you on here and it's pretty much a unanimous thought that this site is the bomb!!!

I recently searched out this info on Google and there are several low-cal, low fat ones to choose from, but the one that I liked was a Bloody Mary. Granted there is a lot of sodium, the only calories and fat to speak of are in the alcohol, which you can't avoid. If you don't care for Bloody Marys, do a Google search and…

You're hilarious, amy_p!!!

EXCELLENT ADVICE!!!!

Congratulations on being on here a year!! That's quite an accomplishment. :)

I weigh myself whenever it's convenient. Sometimes that means everyday, sometimes only once or twice a week and occasionally once every two weeks. I don't stress about it because I'm seeing a difference in the way my clothes fit, which is what really matters. The one thing that I'm consistent about is that I always weigh…

Welcome! This site truly is great! When people ask me about it, I always tell them that it's about knowledge and awareness. Being knowledgeable about the food you eat and aware of portion size and preparation. I think that knowledge and awareness about the food that goes in your mouth is an excellent incentive to eat…

I'm so glad you joined MyFitnessPal. This is a great site with tons of support. I agree to start slow and work into a routine that really works for you. I have a friend doing this with me that is close to your size and she's concentrating on just getting her eating habits under control first before she starts an exercise…

By stoned I meant "stones thrown at me" not wasted. LOL. I just read that after I posted it. I know I'm a dork. :)
-
I may get stoned, but I'm not gonna lie. Sometimes I intentionally jump off the wagon (as opposed to falling off) for a little bit. Sometimes it's ten minutes and sometimes it's a day, but the important part is that I get back ON. By allowing yourself to have what you crave, you are helping yourself stay on your diet. We…

We are here for you as much as you are here for us. I look forward to the journey we have embarked upon together. :)

Use the tools that are on here. The BMR will help you understand how by lowering your calorie intake make you lose weight, but nutrition is important, too. If your body isn't getting what it needs, it will be very hard, if not impossible to stay on any diet. If you aren't getting enough protein and carbs, you won't have…

I'm not as structured as a lot of other people on this site. I just roll with the punches and try to stay under my calories and fat grams while meeting my vitamins A & C, Calcium, Iron & fiber. If I need more calories for supper, then I add in an activity that will allow for that. I haven't started exercising just yet.…

What a huge difference!!!! You look fantastic!
