RN here. Went from floor nurse to more of a desk nursing job and gained a bunch of weight (for a variety of reasons). Need to get in shape, as I know how important it is, and also feel like a hypocrite. Feel free to add me, would love more mfp pals.

I find exercise, and working to be healthy in general helps A LOT with my mental health. It makes me feel in control, and is a great way to let go. It gives you a great mood boost. Find some exercise you enjoy, so that it is not a chore, and go for it! All the best to you :)

Always have water handy, I keep a bottle or glass close by at all times, when I look at it or walk by it - I have a drink. Your body will get used to having more water, and it won't be so challenging to drink it (in my experience). Legumes and beans etc are a great way to add fibre, and very versatile. Roasted chick peas…

I would stay on it, and once your body adjusts it should even out. Your weight may fluctuate for the first few months, but I wouldn't be too concerned. I gained a bit when I started birth control, but I've been on it several months and it doesn't seem to be affecting my weight.

I drink a glass of lemon water, take some powdered greens, then sip on a coffee, throw on some tunes, and do a few stretches to help me wake up. And I agree, MFP is great. I check it every morning and love seeing how much dedication and support there is on here!

Joerog44 - Love that! Going to listen tomorrow during my workout.

Also, a little about me, I'm 27, no kids, vegetarian. I have 60+ lbs to lose, but starting with smaller attainable goals. I had previously lost 60+lbs but gained it all back and then some. I wasn't really commited then, and was just going through the motions. I am on the right track now though! I try to be careful and plan…

Yeah I don't pay too much attention into which category I place my food... it is the day total values that matter anyways. It is just personal preference if you like to see how many cals you had for lunch etc. For instance if I have greek yogourt for breakfast and then decide to have some as a snack after dinner, I usually…

Thanks for your response. I am relieved to hear you had an easy time cancelling, that is one of my biggest concerns. I had a friend who belonged to another chain of gyms, and had the hardest time cancelling, and ended up being charged without knowing etc etc, and then we found out it happens quite often with that chain…

Do you have any blood pressure or circulation concerns? You might want to try doing some sit/stand BP and HR readings if it continues...to make sure there isn't an underlying medical concern that needs to be addressed.

Way to go for making a decision to be healthier. All the best to you, feel free to add me if youd like some mfp pals. I find having my diary open to friends helps keep me on track (for the most part!).

You may be pushing yourself too hard. It also can be due to your food. Either you need to eat before your workout, or need to not eat. It could be due to what you are eating as well. Do the best you can do, without making yourself sick, and play around with your eating/workout schedule until you find what works for you.

Thank you! I was thinking the exact same thing when I read his post. It is so frustrating because there is no way he will get that he is not actually the victim in that situation... And in regards to the original post here, it can be hard to trust people, because some people are selfish...but it is important to remember…

awesome!! Sounds good to me, and way to go on your progress to date :)

I tried resetting my fitbit once, back with the Ultra. I can't remember the exact steps but I am sure you can find it by searching the fitbit website, I find they do have good support and help section.

I think whatever gym you choose, the cost is worth it if the hours, location, and facilities keep you going back. If you try to save a few bucks, you likely will end up with a gym you don't like as much and end up skipping out on more often.

If she does a huge calorie deficit her body will go into starvation mode and store body fat. It is also possible last time she dieted she had high sodium and had a lot of water weight. I have not heard of anything else... but I am not expert either. I do find some people hold on tight to false ideas for a variety of self…

Next time I want a night snack - I am going to re read these posts first!!

I feel like the Blood Donation Services should be advertising this calorie burn - they'd probably motivate more people to donate haha. I donate regularly and have never heard of this, but it makes sense. Id be curious to know over hat time period those calories are burned. I don't think it is necessary to record it - but…

When I lived alone , not buying junk was an easy option - but when you live with other people you can't control what your partner and family want to eat or buy
