  • Tell me if this is considered LNS; last night when I was putting my lunch together I had about 10 grapes. I logged the food and went over my goal by 5 calories. Is this considered LNS?
  • Me:2 LNS:0 I can't wait to make this my goal(no late noght snacking or binging) for next month.
  • You really didn't go ever by much, I did WAY worse on Friday night. My big problem is having a cheat day turning into binging. What i'm doing is setting a 9:00pm alarm, and if it's not in my food journal by then I don't eat it. That'll keep me from rummaging through the house and eating random junk food really late at…
  • Me:1 Lns:0 I hope this isn't premature for me to post before the night is over. What I do is plan ahead with my food log. I set an alarm for 9:00pm, and if I haven't logged it by then I won't eat it. For example even if it's a cheat day I'm not going to log 3/4 of a bag of chocolate chips or an armful of Halloween candy so…
  • What is TDEE? I was at my goal weight (155lbs) and actually a little below and I was still in a 980calorie deficit. I noticed that I get a little nutty and want to binge when I would go bellow 155 pounds, so I lowered my calorie deficit to 580calories per day. I'm really close to my goal weight, but I'm a little confused…
  • Can I join? My big problem is if I have a 'cheat day' I end up binging late at night when everyone is asleep. It would really help me if I didn't eat anything after a specific time that I didn't at least enter in my food log to plan what I'm going to eat. What would be a good time to set as my deadline?
  • Wow what a great post. I'm having a problem not necessarily taking a break from my diet, but just taking a 'cheat day'. My problem is that I end up binging. Maybe I really do need to take a 7-10 day break where I don't binge or eat like a pig, but just maintain. I did this for a few days when I was on vacation a couple…
  • No, I have gained some muscle and have really toned up. I've got a very lean look and I'm happy with that. I did up my calorie intake recently by 500 calories because I felt like I was getting too skinny. But I've thought for a long time that really gaining muscle and losing fat are kind of hard to do at the same time.
  • That is the exact point I was trying to make! I agree 100%.
  • I've found that it's healthier to splurge every now and then. Otherwise you'll go crazy and want to quit. Or eventually your splurge may be an entire cake, or a really huge amount of bad food.
  • That's a good article. I've been in a calorie deficit for a while now and it has occured to me that it is going to be impossible for me to really gain muscle while doing so.
  • I've done both programs and I think if your goal is to lose weight you should get Insanity. I love both programs and I do them together with Insanity Asylum, but It seems like Insanity works better for women whos main goal is to lose weight. Besides you don't need any weights, bands, or a pull up bar with Insanity.
  • +1 on yes it's worth it! Right now I do Insanity, P90X, and Insanity Asylum. After doing Insanity I did P90X and the plyo workouts and cardio workouts with P90X are really weak compared to Insanity, so I turned my first round of P90X into an Insanity/P90X hybrid.
  • I eat a lot of tuna, right out of the can. No jokes here either but tuna is cheap, full of protein, no carbs or fat, and I really like tuna. I eat a lot of eggs too and natural peanutbutter, but since I've been using MFP I've realized that peanutbutter-even the natural stuff-has a lot of fat.
  • Thanks for the tips and that's how I'll change my carbs, fat, protein.
  • I always thought that the body uses more energy to burn celery than what is in it. Nothing big, just 1 calorie for each calorie of celery. But in the database it is listed, but it's not many calories. Something like 10 calories for 2 large stalks. That is why I log it.
  • That's a good point. Besides, my MFP goal includes over 900 calories in deficit, so if I do go over a little bit I'll still actually be in a deficit.
  • If you found peanut butter that didn't contain calories AND tasted good it would be a major diccovery!
  • Thanks, I'll do that! Would you believe we've got birthday cake today too? I can't even believe it.
  • Thanks for all the replies. I usually have a protein bar at work or in my car as kind of an emergency meal replacement. I would always indulge in birthday cake if it was at work but a couple months ago I was thinking having a protein bar, which I like would be an indulgence, but not as bad. A better food choice if you…
  • I like that approach. If I'm going to splurge i want to enjoy it. So far I've been able to have some cheat items and still fly under the radar with calories. On days when I know we're going out to dinner I'll try to get a really good workout in the morning and then have a light breakfast and lunch. I've found that I really…
