The posters above have pretty well covered it. Be sure that you are counting your calories accurately. The other thing is patience. It has taken me 4 years to get to where I am now (from 190 to 133). I have had a few ups and down but I just keep walking (I use RunKeeper) and counting my calories. I recently added a Pilates…

I think you look fantastic right now. I am wondering if you weight as much as you do because you are mostly muscle. I am a bit taller than you and weight less but believe me, I don't look as good as you do. You probably have a low fat percentage already so I would maintain at this point or if you want to lose more, I would…

Age - 55 Height - 5'5" Daily Calorie intake - 1359 plus about 3/4 of my exercise calories Workouts - Daily walking 8.5 km and Pilates 2x a week Weight loss goals - Started at 190, currently 133, goal is 130 and maybe 125.

Yep, and have lost 57 lbs doing that over the last 4 years. I recently have added Pilates to my routine but the walking was key for me.

I am not going to address your diet strategy or questions because many others have done this but I do want to reassure you about the fibroid. I had one that was 10 cm when I found it and it grew rapidly in the following 5 months to the point that my uterus was the size of a bowling ball when I had surgery. Everything was…

Where do you put your weight??? You have a tiny waist!!! Are you fairly muscular with a low body fat? I am also 5'5", weight 133 lbs, and have a 19.75 thigh. However, I have a 29 inch waist and have an hour glass figure with bust at 37" and hips at 38". Overall, I have much bigger measurements than you. I suspect that the…

Are you using HeyBales spreadsheet? If you are, you can adjust your exercise calories on the MFP tweak tab. What I did was leave the exercise calories blank on the Simple Set up tab and then use the MFP tweak tab to add in my exercise calories (Tabs are at the bottom of the spreadsheet). You input the time spent exercising…

I agree with all of the comments about actually going to a running store and getting your gait analysed. Just make sure that who ever is doing it actually knows what they are talking about. I was given a pair of Asics that made my knees sore for an entire winter in spite of only wearing them for a month. I went to another…

Short and sweet -> Portion control, lower calorie ingredients and water or green tea as beverage. I am French and the French live to eat, not the other way around. :) I also agree with Erik's Mom's co-worker (did I get that right?) that if it doesn't taste excellent, I am not eating it. PS. I also walk 8.5 km (most days)…

The site limits you to 1200 calories so that your body can get the necessary number of calories without damaging your body. I am sure that multitude of others will pop in and explain it better than me.

Going from 145 to 135 has made quite a difference for me. My abs look a lot better and I look much leaner all over. I am pretty lucky in that I have an hour glass figure and either gain or lose weight evenly all over. I didn't have as much as you to lose but I started at 190 and my first goal weight was 144. My second one…

These frame calculators drive me crazy. I have a 5.8" wrist which is tiny but the rest of me is hour glass shape with wide hips and bust. The calculator puts me at a small frame but I do not have a small frame. I guess my goal of 130 is right at the top of their recommendation of 117 to 130, however, at 117, I would look…

I would do the 68 inch since you lost the height in your trunk and that is where most of the weight would be in a body.

Try using this spreadsheet. It is done by HeyBales in this site and is what I use. I agree with you that TDEEs can be all over the place depending on what site you use. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amt7QBR9-c6MdGVTbGswLUUzUHNVVUlNSW9wZWloeUE#gid=14 I hope this helps.

Eat very well and stay active! I only gained 24 pounds with my daughter by doing exactly that. I wasn't into fitness classes at the time but I was doing dog obedience training which kept me going for at least an hour or more per day. I was 140 when I got pregnant and a week post-partum, I was back to my normal weight. None…

I am not a fitness expert but you might want to try Pilates with some modifications for your injuries. Pilates really works the core muscles and will make the best of the tummy muscles you have.

I also signed up for a mud run. I got drafted. 55 years old and I have never done anything like this before. What the heck did I get myself into! :shaking my head here:

This pretty well sums it up!

I don't think I have ever used bull*&^% on the internet but I am going to here. I have seen a huge improvement in my body and my muscle tone as well since I started Pilates 4 months ago. And by the way, how dare you tell her that what she is seeing is an illusion. You aren't there to verify that and if she sees a…

You look great! I am 4 or 5 lbs less than you (same height) and you look 10 times better. Just keep working at it.

^^^This^^^ I am also 5'5" and have been at it for 4 years. I reached my first goal of 144 last year and I am working towards my second goal of 135. I have been hovering around 137-139 for the last few weeks but I know that eventually I will get there and then I can move on to my final goal of 130 (Which might be a pipe…

Me too so I cut out all chocolate except for a hot chocolate each day. I did that for a couple of years then as my weight came down, I was able to cut out the hot chocolate too. I have had a couple of boxes of chocolates sitting on my desk for the last several months and I haven't gotten into them so it can be done.

I eat part of mine back, otherwise, I am hungry. MFP is set up for you to eat them back.

A slice of homemade oatmeal bread with homemade peanut butter and homemade jam. About 230 calories and it sticks to your ribs for a while. Otherwise, there are tons of smoothies that you can make. My favourite: 1 cup and half of frozen fruit (a mix of raspberries, strawberries, mangoes, blueberries, cherries, peaches) - I…

Funny you said that. I just drove past a a billboard advertising a Pat Benatar concert and I wondered how many younger people would know who she is.

5'5" here and trying to get to 130, however, that might be a pipe dream. My first goal was 144, second goal is 135 (2 more pounds to go) and then I will work on getting to 130. The slimmest I have been in my adult life was 127 when I was 20 years old. I have a hard time telling what my frame size is since I have super…

Here is the url for the spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amt7QBR9-c6MdGVTbGswLUUzUHNVVUlNSW9wZWloeUE#gid=14 If you are going to eat your calories back, after you fill out the Simple Set Up tab (don't include any exercise on that page), go to the MFP Tweak tab and fill that out. At the bottom is a…
