Well, considering you just started out, figure out what triggered it. Then find another way to deal and do not do it again and start over! :flowerforyou: I have found out the hard way, that there is no quick fix, no magic anything that can do this. It's all on me. Eating, making healthier choices, moving as best you can,…
They are risking their lives and health No doubt there is discomfort But is it worth risking your long term health rather than just digging in your heels and doing some hard work?
quote Again, while everyone is entitled to an opinion and you are definitely passionate about yours, do you have the same…

The manner in which you are trying to change her mind is coming across as an attack. With all due respect, you have stated your opinion, we all know how you feel as does this particular member, and we know how she feels. I believe it is time to let it go - on both your parts. Quite frankly, it's like a read version of my…

Oooh Yes! forgot about that - better than berries and yogurt!

berries and/or yogurt!

I dropped 10 lbs the first week too, the first week generally is a wow but it tapers off - don't get too engrossed with your scale. Big numbers aren't what I want to see, 1 - 1.5/week for me. I have been up and down weekly for no apparent reason. I try to look ahead to the end of the month setting a small goal - it isn't…

Yup! Except slurpies aren't my thing......caramel anything mmmmmmmm.!

This! Most of the people I know who were counting carbs were also on a VLCD which is not sustainable in the long run for a lot a people. If you are trying to lose weight doing something you aren't or can't do for the rest of your life, chances are the weight you lost so quickly will find you again.

I may be wrong, but I think they meant if you can buckle down and lose 25 - 50 some pounds on your own before the surgery, why not just continue; not that they only had 25 to 50 lose.

Quite often we just make a "hash" with it. You can cook it up in a pot, drain any fat, although there isn't much in the extra lean, and then put it in a strainer and pour boiling water over it. Then put it back in the pot/frypan, what have you, put the rest in the freezer and add what you have - chili powder, onions, red…

It takes willpower and determination to follow a diet and exercise regimen and it sounds like it takes courage, willpower and determination to have surgery if that is what you must do. I am diabetic, was on insulin, and as my weight has gone down, so have my sugars. I don't think it was solely the weight loss but also the…

YUP, stunning!

I eat the same breakfast pretty much everyday. It's more of a preference and convenience than anything else. I have a grapefruit and oatmeal, it's quick and easy and I add my egg whites to the water when I'm nuking it. I'm not bored......but probably a little boring:wink:

Before MFP my weight bounced back and forth between 298 & 304. I'm currently 262. Slow and steady - you can do this.:flowerforyou:

Okay, NOW we're talking! But how am I going to get fit staring at his pic all day! :blushing:
-
I'm crying 'cause there is no way in hell I could ever do this - even after I lose all the weight! Just wanted to say thank you to those who can. Your pictures inspire more than you'll ever know!:flowerforyou:

Oh stop you! That's gotta be a picture of your mother! :noway:

If it seems to good to be true, it generally is. Patience, willpower, exercise and healthy, nutritional eating (eating being key) is the best way. That's just my opinion though.

Hahahaha - I thought I was the only one who thought that! I know, like WW, TOPS has worked for a lot of people, but my particular group basically got together for coffee every week, moaned about how bad they did and everyone just said "oh it's okay", better job next week, etc. only it was exactly the same the next week.
-
I know a couple of people on WW. I used to find it odd if we were going out they would barely eat during the day and "save up" their points so they could go all out that night. They aren't doing any better than me AND I'm not spending that extra money on ??? A couple of times I have calculated what the points equal in…

Great post! It took me a long time to clue in as well. The scale reflects weight which includes everything - water, fat, muscle, when all we really want to lose is fat. I'm looking forward to taking my measurements in a few months time. Thank you again for the reminder!
-
I'm afraid you are absolutely right!...........you are being too critical of yourself.!:flowerforyou: Enjoy your holiday!

Don't be discouraged - you have lost more than 2 lbs a week! As long as you are doing it in a healthy and sustainable way it will come. I lost more than my "goal" (10 lbs) for January in the very first week. The first week seems to be an anomaly, but it kind of took the pressure off. I'm aiming for 4lbs - 8lbs per month, I…

:noway: There is nothing wrong with your body, only your perception of your body. We are our own worst critics. If you want to see more definition or shape there is quite a following on here for heavy lifting (I think that is what it's called) or new rules of lifting for women. Good Luck! Bellissima!

Great, now I'm hungry for cake! Haven't said that in a while. Has anyone had issues with it sticking to the mug? Does it just pop out easily or are you greasing the mug?
-
Definitely a significant difference! Try picking up a 10 lb bag of potatoes with one hand - that's what you've been walking around with! Kudos on your loss!

Brilliant! You'll be rocking the beach!

Hi Neighbor! St. Albert here!

A hop, skip and a jump - St. Albert - and I also have a golden!

I may not have had the correct numbers, but wanted to show that overall, healthier food choices allow us to eat more. The end result being we are feeling full and satisfied and more likely to continue toward our goals. I have noticed on the boards that rather than comment or question someone politely on something they…
