Mounds is a fun place to walk, I've been over there before. Love to bike the Greenway tho...

Iowa is colder and more snow than Indiana, we lived there for 3 years, hated it.

Still at BSU - sent you a friend request - we'll figure it out!! you look familiar too!

Maybe not as important as WHAT you eat, but HOW you eat: try eating your vegetables first, then your protein. Also, exchange a little protein for carbs at mid-day (I sometimes skip carb for lunch and have a small banana with a TBSP natural peanut butter for my afternoon snack, keeps the hungries away). Protein (chicken,…

Will check out When Eddie met Salad next time I'm in Indy. Thanks!

I only lost 24 pounds, but slimmed down from a 16 to a 6, and people would tell me I was too skinny, but according to my frame size and height, I am at the high end of the chart. My BMI is good, my body fat is low and great. Giving up dairy and foods that make you inflamed makes a huge difference! Most (99%) of my friends…

We live close to the Hawthorn Street entrance and I usually bike the entire length along the river, 6 miles one way, and back - usually try to hit the trail early mornings in the summer, but could do a Sunday evening too, keep me in mind when the weather gets nicer!

To answer your question, yes, it matters what you eat. However, a calorie is a calorie no matter what form you eat it. Your body needs a variety of nutrients from all sources - fruit, vegetable, grain and protein. Of course if you have food sensitivities or allergies then you add a whole new set of challenges. If you are…

When my son was born, my MIL had the balls to scream all the way down the corridor at the hospital "they've got the wrong name on that baby" and when she got to our room, the nurses were all panicked and my husband rushed to the nursery, then it dawned on him that duh, what was she thinking, it was the first time she had…

Perhaps you need to concentrate more on portions - making sure you eat proteins, carbs, fats and grains rather than concentrating on calories. Your metabolism is key in weight loss - you can count calories until you are blue in the face, but in the end it is your metabolism that will win your battle with weight loss, and…

I've done the Leslie Sansone walk at home video's, but I used them to get started "walking" to build up some stamina. I will probably do them once a week or so during the cold (icky) winter when I can't get outside to walk or don't feel like braving the cold to go to the gym.

Hi Genny! I'm new here too - only 5 days! I don't have but a couple pounds left to loose, but wanted a quick app on my phone to log in food - was tired of doing it pen/paper! So far I love this website and app! Good luck with your weight loss goal!

Agree with you lordofultima! I would suggest working with a personal trainer 2-3 times a week. Yes, it can be a little bit on the budget busting side, but hey - aren't you worth it? Think about all the money you would spend on doctors and medications - then the personal trainer cost doesn't look so bad. I do cardio 3-4…

I get my breakfast ready, lay out my clothes and set a departure time goal. Yesterday was comical - could not get my self together as I didn't complete these steps. My MP3 was low on juice, need to download more tunes, forgot to fill water bottle...the list was endless but a reminder that planning ahead is a must! My…

If you have a smartphone - mine is a Droid - there is a sweet little free app called "JEFIT" that has animations and you can build your own routines for each day of the week and set the weights, reps, timer, etc. Installed and used it this week - it is great. Will be using this to track my stats and stay on track when I'm…
