A concept 2 rower was the smartest purchase we ever made. We bought it 15 years ago and my husband and I have used it consistently and it still works like a charm - and now our daughter uses it too. Its a great workout. It takes up less space than a treadmill, but I wouldn't say its folds away for easy storage - but its…

Agree with many others - you don't need a gym to be fit. It took me 20 years and a lot of money to figure out the gym was not for me - not for the reasons you say - mainly just too inconvenient and not worth the expense. Cardio outdoors and weight-training at home gives me more time to devote to actual working out. If you…

Hi - I don't know what GSP Rushfit is but I just started Chalean today and I'm already hooked. But I have question for those that have done it - did you actually take 2 rest days?
-
Congratulations and thanks for sharing! You already look so much healthier - keep it up!

I consider a pound a week fast weight loss - I eat really well and work out pretty hard and after 5 months, I don't think I will see that pace again. Those that lose faster are young and/or burning TONs of calories. Kudos to you ammemckee for sticking with it - I hope I reach my goal w/in a year! "Patience is bitter, but…

She pretty much looked like that 4 years ago - I think she mostly has been blessed with killer shoulders and guns.
-
I just finished round 1 - me either - but I think they are under there somewhere - hoping they'll pop out after the next 10 lbs!

Love these - just got a pair of 501s - perfect fit and I am curvy!

She does p90x!

OMG THANK YOU! I am literally on my way to the pool and was going to try out the FT4 while swimming. I am so glad I saw this!

I love this quote! Totally my inspiration!

bump! Thanks!

Or, you lost 62 lbs in 9 months, which is almost 7 lbs/month. Now that your close to your goal, its going slower.
-
Gorgeous! If I did my calculations correctly, you lost 60 lbs in 6 months? Your kicking butt sister!
-
I was just going to say this - while kicking her *kitten* would be awesomely fun, this would probably be a lot more productive.

48 1/2 and on my way to being in the best shape of my life! Just finished p90x, now kicking it on my own while deciding what to do next. I don't take much seriously, except weight loss - I could use some attitude adjustment on that front! Anyone feel free to add me!

Amazing! Congrats!

Lisa, the Zone is a 40/30/30 plan. If you google 40/30/30 you'll get a lot of good ideas. I think I might have a copy of that book somewhere - I will try to dig it up. But you can do it by pre-planning your meals - enter in the amounts and if it is off, adjust. The good news now they say it doesn't matter when you eat your…

I have this problem - not just from running though - any exercise except swimming tweaks it. Mine is do to herniated discs which cause my sacroiliac joint to become arthritic and enables my pelvis "twist". Don't know if that is what you have but it sounds like some kind of pelvic/sacro issue. I exercise through it but you…

Incredible transformation - you look SO healthy and happy! Congratulations!

Definitely a social eater (and drinker)! Still figuring this out but what I've been doing is pretty much in line with others - be good the rest of the week, plan ahead, stay away from chips and bread - anything that can be consumed mindlessly while chatting. Also, always have a drink in hand - seltzer with lime, a splash…

I think it makes sense that extra weight can give you problems when running - I had terrible knee, ankle, and heel problems from running 24 lbs ago and now its pretty much gone. I wouldn't stop running, but if you have injuries subbing runs with walks is probably a good idea.
-
Sounds great - thanks!

I just finished p90x last week and am also trying to decide what to do next - right now I'm just doing the strength training routines along with running/rowing/swimming. I have lower back issues so I was steering clear from the p90x/insanity hybrid because I have heard that Insanity is like plyo everyday - although that…

This is great - thanks for posting. The only issue with it is that you can't modify the % of non-fat mass vs. fat mass - it assumes a set proportion. So it will not be accurate for someone that has higher than average muscle mass - it is not accurate for me - I plugged in my starting weight, calorie deficit, etc. and it…

That is what I call fast weight loss! Don't get discouraged if it slows down either - after 40 it gets really slow for most women.

I'm not sure what "overnight" oats are exactly, but this week I finally made the steel cut oats - you have to cook them the night before, then put them in fridge overnight, and cook again in the morning. They are fantastic - I love the consistency and they seem so much more substantial than quick oats. And I made a big…

Here's one - I've been up 3 lbs for 3 days in a row, after upping my calories from 1200 to 1500 about 3 weeks ago. All the success stories on this thread are motivating me to stick it out for another week, but I don't know if I can hold out any longer!

You are doing exactly what is right. Take care of yourself first, and lead by example. After you reach your goal you can try a little harder - make them a healthy meal, try to get them to for a walk, go play mini-golf, etc. But I suggest you take care of yourself first - doing both at the same time is too much. My parents…
