Thanks!

Yes, it takes me about 35 - 40 minutes, but its only 5 exercises, 2 reps each - does not seem like enough but I guess I'll find out!

Hi- Just started today (just joined group - added intro in that section) and the first thing I noticed is that if I am doing it right (did Workout A, Workout 1), which I think I am (read the book, poured over forums, etc.), is that its a very short workout. Does anybody do both workouts A and B or do more reps of either?…

Hi- My name is Beth and I finally started new rules today. I've been on MFP for almost a year, but started my latest fitness gig last March - in total have lost 33 lbs - 7 more to go (or whenever I lose my belly and arm wings - whichever comes first). I've done 2+ rounds of p90x and 1 round of Chalean extreme, and am ready…

I just had my first successful week on it last week but I don't know if I'm doing it "right". I have a pretty intense job and need to think clearly without being distracted by hunger during the day so I eat pretty normally during the day and then just skip dinner - or have a nibble. But I have been doing 16:8 daily (limit…

You look smaller, healthier, and determined in the new photo. Keep up the good work - you can do it!
-
You're 22 - when I was 22 I could eat 4 times what I eat now - OP is 56 - age matters!
-
I suggest you keep doing what you are doing - a 1 month stall ain't nothing. Some people have slower metabolisms and it increases with age. I learned the hard way that trying to speed things up by bumping calories did not work for me. 73 lbs since last May is AMAZING progress! Relax and keep it up and if you are getting…

You said it sister!

I was soooo out of shape when I first did and I'm not gonna lie - the first week was brutal - but it gets easier. And I think its the fastest way to get in really good shape. You can do it!
-
Keep doing what your doing; you know its working because your clothes are fitting better - 3 weeks ain't nothing as far as the scale is concerned - especially when you just start. 90% of the people that comment are going to tell you to eat more - but they are probably much younger than you. Give it time and then you can…

IMHO, you can pull a muscle mopping the floor or turning your head, or anything. Having done Chalean twice, I'm sure your form is pretty damn good. So I would go for as long you are sure you are fully recovered. Did you see a PT?

I'm 49 with sciatica, L5/S1 herniation, and osteo-arthritis, and did CLX lifting pretty heavy. For bent-over rows, I kept my slightly knees bent, so there wasn't so much pressure on my back, and also didn't lean over quite so much - pretty much do that with any exercise with back at angle. Also, keeping your core strong it…

Fourth that and I'd love to read both articles.

Cardio sounds fine - although keep in mind if you aren't using a heart rate monitor the calorie burn MFP or machine gives you is only an estimate. It probably doesn't matter all that much if you don't eat back your calories (like many others say - just move) - but its nice to know how much you are really exerting yourself.…

You look awesome at 60!
-
Its awesome that you are thinking that far ahead - I sooooo wish I had. When I was younger I had a 10 - 20 lb problem, but I was always into fitness so I didn't consider it a big problem, and was able to keep it in check. You think I might have considered that it would get harder with age but I was an idiot - and then life…

I'm 49 - its taken me 11 months to lose 29 lbs (lost 10 before joining MFP) - and I've been on a "plateau" since last October. I work out hard 6 - 7 times a week - have done 2 rounds of p90x, 1 round of chalean extreme, and run, swim, row, bike, and am a dedicated yogi. Its hard for some women at this age. But after…

I love this thread! Thanks for posting - totally agree - weight loss does not mean you have to choke down pseudo food. Would rather eat less of something delicious than more of something gross! Looks like everything got covered so little to add - but I did try the chocolate protein cake in a mug recipe someone posted last…

Losing fat is the only way to lose tummy fat - if its your "problem area" it will be the last to go probably. To get "abs" you have to use them. I don't know what is the source of your bad back, but I have sciatica and several herniated discs. Twice I was immobile for months and was told I needed surgery. Instead I went to…

Amazing job! p90X rocks!

Yum - thanks!
-
Ok thanks - gonna check my calories first, and then try this after.

You really weigh apples? How much calorie difference is there between the MFP default for apple and precise measurement of one? 25 calories? Correction - I weigh meat and complex carbs. Never weighed vegetables and fruit. And when I eat out, I use the old deck of cards = 4 ounces. But in your response there is a glimmer of…

It sounds like you saying that there is no hope then, but I do plan on changing things up again...and maybe start a test group because it would nice to be able to answer these burning questions!
-
yup. got myself a new food scale for x-mas, but was weighing before that too.
-
I started at 1200. I went up closer to 1500 (I have a very slow metabolism - I don't think BMR calculations are accurate for me) for much of the time along the way. Been back down at 1200 for the most part since beginning of January. I don't think its wise to go below that.

Maybe your right that its not really a plateau that I've been on for the past 4 months, maybe weight loss has just slowed to the point that it can't be measured. It just seems like a plateau when weight loss gradually slows from on average 1, 0.5, 0.25 llbs/week oand then 0 lbs/week over an 10 month period, when I see some…

I was just about to check on you, but been having trouble logging myself, so I might not be the best motivator right now! But I don't think its seeing the actual number of days that made me lose motivation; after awhile it just gets tiring. After my husband got sick and I didn't log, I realized that logging was an option -…

DUDE! HOLY SHEEEEEET! Great job!
