  • I was diagnosed with Hypothalamic Amenorrhea by a Reproductive Endocrinologist. He said according to my extensive lab results I am not PCOS like my family doctor suspected. He said I either run too much or have less fat than my body would like (I was overweight during puberty). He suggested I GAIN 5 lbs and here I am... It…
  • I cant lose more weight! I have been stuck since October. I do squats. Various kinds of routines. I can also hold a deep squat for a super long time thanks to yoga. Sadly this does nothing for that particular spot with the fat deposits
  • It's amazing how many healthy foods and organics are at Costco now! Walmart is cheap but at the one by my house they find a way to place sweets and junk down one side of every aisle haha! I'm smarter than to fall for these grocery store tricks but I hate that mentality how they want to keep us obese. They don't stock up on…
  • I like the One a Day Active Metabolism because it has caffeine in it! I mean, other reasons too, but that's pretty nifty. I take D3 because my mom who's a nurse said that most of her patients are deficient in this, and she is too. I figure it couldn't hurt to build up on that. I take L-lysine when I remember to prevent…
  • I have adjusted my sugar allowance to 60g just to allow for fruits and other random sugars. I think the thing with sugar is to just not let it get out of control. Mostly look out for high fructose corn syrup and the artificial and "hidden" sugars. There are some sugars (like sugar alcohols) that don't register on food…
  • Prozac -- I was in middle school. I thought I was going to gain a bunch of weight, and I think I told myself I did. Looking back, I actually lost 15 pounds over a year even though I ate badly. Wellbutrin -- I lost 30 pounds over six months with yoga inspiration at the beginning, and being whole heartedly dedicated to…
  • Yes please! I will add a picture soon. First SW: 170 last summer SW: 150 CW: 150 GW: 140 Ultimate GW: 125 I have already made it down to 140 this year, but the non-busy summer makes it tough to keep up!
  • You should go to the goodwill or salvation army. There's a lot of good stuff there if you don't mind spending some time. I'm sure it depends on your area too. Where I live, everyone is ALL about the thrift store shopping. Sometimes there are sales.
  • Personally, i just don't take the birth control. Not taking it means greater ability to lose weight and at a lower weight, i feel my body stabilizes a lot better. My periods became regular when I was eating totally healthy and reached a BMI of 24. When I was 20 pounds heavier I didn't have my period for a year.
  • Have to say, I'm noticing among many who are not eating their exercise calories have their daily calories much higher than 1200 calories. In that case, they are still getting enough nutrition. Having my goal at 1200, I am going to eat whatever calories I burn.
  • Dang, this is reminding me that my period needs to start already. Its approaching 70 days. Hopefully its coming soon, and that's why I'm not losing any weight at all! But yes, my weight loss shows after a couple days that I'm on it.
  • When I had a trainer back in the day, we did 5-10 minute cardio warm up, weights, then the full cardio.
  • Black beans help! I'm personally going to start getting them with low sodium and eat at least a can a day.
  • Yes, this is a wonderful post and put in the most polite way possible. I personally feel that these people need to know what kind of seats they are getting themselves into. From my experience, venues have about the same width of a seat as most other. From how it sounds, she wasn't even close to fitting into her seat. It…
  • ALSO you can tell your friends and family you are reducing your sugar intake. It doesn't have to mean saying you're on a diet, but talk about how you have much more energy throughout the day and feel healthier when you resist sugar.
  • I know what you mean about eating healthier at school than at home!! I lost so much weight in college because I got to choose what was in the apartment. I would say get a dark chocolate candy bar. It may not be everyone's favorite, but after awhile you will appreciate the pure taste of chocolate. You can eat it slower, and…
  • hahahaha were you high?? I had you at first, but the last third I was shaking my head ha
  • I actually tried it for the first time last month, with beets, yellow bell peppers, some time of sweet dressing and spinach. I forget if there were any other fruits, but it was a modestly sweet, mostly grainy flavor. It was pretty good and filled me up fast. I think I would add more fruit, myself.
  • Honestly, I had the same experience. My scale now reads 10 pounds lighter because I lived in a high humidity apartment for a year. I looked this up, and learned that yes, humidity does affect your scale. From my understanding, I thought it was irreversible, but you could try replacing the batteries to see if that helps.
  • Sorry, I prefer not to show my face online, especially with weight being a touchy subject. I am attaching a link of when I was 175lbs or so. I've always had a small waist in comparison to my legs (i feel more so than a typical pear shape!) It sounds like your body shape would have more weight shifted on the upper half. I…

  • Are you getting enough potassium? Maybe its worth looking into because it sounds like when I wasn't getting enough. My body just felt weak. Eating bananas helps a lot
  • I tried weight watchers diet plan without meetings maybe 7 years ago? Granted, I had PCOS that caused me to gain and hold onto a ton of weight--but I only lost 10 pounds on weight watchers, and that was it. I thought the points idea made a lot of sense at first, but as time went on, I felt numbers could be easily rounded…
  • I looooovee Chipotle!!! I would eat Chipotle twice a day if I were you. I wouldn't be able to stop myself!! HAHA Okay, so first off, don't trust the website's calorie estimates. You should jot down your portions and have a better estimate. See, these fast food places are required to post their calories--but its on the…
  • I marinade my tofu way in advance in whatever flavor I want it to be. That's good that you got firm tofu, but I prefer extra firm tofu personally. I'm not huge on tofu myself, but I've learned those two tips will get you a long way. Cut it into strips before you marinade it so it soaks all the way through.
  • You're doing it! Protein. And fiber too. Aside from that, I like to pick foods that combine sweetness and protein together. I do 0% greek yogurt with blueberry flaxseed and splenda. This is like a dessert to me! I also like cottage cheese and pineapple. Every so often I will munch on a spoonful fresh ground peanut butter…

  • Nice calculator! I agree, its not good to consider subway "safe". Only eat it when you have to decide between that and other fast foods. I have read that the whole wheat bread is only partially whole wheat, and actually has white bread mixed in with caramel food coloring. In turkey sandwiches you don't get all that much…
  • Here in San Francisco, Costco and Trader Joe's have been my pocket savers. Safeway is extremely expensive here...even Whole Foods is cheaper if you can imagine! It makes a huge difference where you shop. I totally agree with getting your veggies (and frozen goods!) at Costco. Maybe it's my imagination, but "Bulk" doesn't…
  • My ultimate goal is 120lbs and I'm about 140lbs now. Unfortunately, I don't have much room for exercise except DDR and arm weights. Hoping my 1200 Calorie diet works for majority of this weight loss over some time.
  • I've always stuck to having protein for breakfast, but in yoga the instructor said that its not good to eat a lot of carbs for dinner...maybe to eat them in the middle of the day. But that's unrealistic to really keep track of, at least for me and my lifestyle. My lunch is whatever I can stuff in my purse
  • I have PCOS, and I noticed the tender breast thing too. After 20 pounds I went from a full C cup to barely fitting an A. I don't know if the dramatic breast decrease has anything to do with higher testosterone + weight loss...but its a thought. I do believe my symptoms have died down since I lost weight however :)
