  • That's some willpower! I would have picked Taco Bell though...I've never had the other one. My husband will do that sometimes, only he won't call. He'll just bring home the fixin's for brownies sundaes.....mmmm..........no wonder I've lost weight since he left!
  • Thanks for all y'all's encouragement. I measured myself and have lost a couple inches overall, so at least I'm losing that, even if not pounds. I really think I'm just getting too much sodium. I've eaten out a couple times this past week (and I don't normally eat out), and that could have something to do with it. Trish-…
  • Good morning! I'm trying to hard to keep a positive attitude right now. I'm up 1.5#!! Not only have I not lost in 2 weeks, I'm now gaining  I hope I can get to the bottom of this because it's really ticking me off. I'm drinking 10+ glasses of water today in hopes that it's water weight. And no, it's not TOM yet so I…
  • Hi ladies! We have another thread for military wives (with an emphasis on stress/over eating) if you're looking for more ladies. I know it's so hard being a military wife/spouse to a deployed husband. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/74451-deployment-overeater-support-team :flowerforyou:
  • Happy Thursday! Here's my stats for the week: 12/31- 190 lbs 1/7- 187 lbs 1/21- 183 lbs 1/28- 182 lbs 2/4- 182 lbs No loss this week. I did everything right with exercising but I seriously need to focus more on my diet. I've been eating to meet my calories, not eating to make a life change (like when I burned 2500 cals by…
  • Hey ladies, I've been at the church all morning volunteering, and this is the first time getting online fo rme today. Nicole- I'm glad your appt went well. I hope you're able to heal soon. yogurt, bananas, and smoothies. Take it easy! Trish- maybe time to change up the routine a little? When my cals go down, it…
  • I think a lot of it can be attributed to stress. My DH has been gone almost 4 months and there are days that I just don't want to get out of bed. I try to stay really busy, esp. with housework and playing with Georgia and that ups my energy level. I make a to-do list every morning and that keeps me from being "too tired"…
  • Way to go! You've lost 20 i a month?! Goodness you're working hard! Great job!!!
  • If you buy canned veggies, make sure to get the ones with no salt added. Have you tried sea salt? It has the flavor of table salt but is a healthier form that can help reduce blood pressure (so I've been told?). I also started cooking with Mrs. Dash seasonings that are all salt free and they're very flavorful. I wish I had…
  • I helped a friend do a hsm cake a year ago. it was tricky! She bought a cake pan in the shape of a star and piped red icing on it around the edges and along the bottom, and did some music notes sprinkles (if I'm remembering right). i think she got one of those cake pictures and put that on there, but I can't remember. I…
  • Good morning ladies! I've been on a plateau all week...ugh! I did manage to move ALL the furniture and steam clean the carpets in the WHOLE house yesterday. My poor arms are sore today, but I went running anyway and now am about to do 30 day shred. Thomas is home in 3 1/2 weeks and I still have 7# before I'm at my 1st Goal…
  • GM ladies! Nicole- good luck at the dentist today. I'll be sending a prayer up for you and sending you positive vibes. Kim- happy anniversary! It sounds like a great date. Enjoy and don't worry about calories on big celebrations. Just got back from a 2 mile run (ran 3/4 mile straight for each mile). I had to go by my…
  • Welcome! good luck in reaching your goals. This community is a great place for support and inspiration. i know you can do this!!
  • Nicole- We drove to the coast (in the pouring rain, 90 min away!) to have lunch and so that I could see the Pacific. It was stormy, and beautiful! And before leaving we went to Multnomah (spelling?) Falls. It was gorgeous! I got hubby a t-shirt from there. I also went to the Running Store in Eugene (I think it's the…
  • I like rice cakes. Yummy! and 50 cals each (i like apple cinnamon ones) Bananas are filling too. Or a piece of bread with almond butter. Now I'm hungry and it's too late to snack! :blushing:
  • Hi ladies! I'm back from Oregon and from re-organizing the house. It only took 2 weeks! How have you all been? My DH comes home in 25 days for a couple weeks, and I'm desperately trying to get the house ready so we can relax and have 2 weeks of family time with minimal housework. Nicole- congrats on the Jamaica trip! How…
  • I'm glad you're enjoying the Shred. I got through 7 days of level 1 and got bored. I really wish I could stick with it, but I just can't do workout videos. Great job! Stick with it!!!
  • You all look so amazing! I can't wait to be there one day... you have given me such inspiration, thank you!!
  • Timmi I hope you and Tayla feel better soon. There's nothing more frustrating than having a sick baby. Jamie- enjoy that R&R! I hope you are not worrying so much about logging your food and exercise during the "vacation" Holly- you are always rockin' girl! 2 5ks?! Rock on!!! My honey will be home on leave FOUR WEEKS from…
  • Here's my stats for the week: 12/31- 190 lbs 1/7- 187 lbs 1/21- 183 lbs 1/28- 182 lbs 1 lb loss. I hope to do better next week. I have 7# before my first goal weight when DH comes home on leave...I'd better get working!! 8 lbs lost total in 2010. You are all doing so well! I'm seeing some good numbers this week! Do we have…
  • Don't let your weight inhibit you from doing what you want to do. Just start slow and build up gradually. I used to be able to only jog (at maybe a 15 min pace) for less than a minute! I'm not able to run a full mile yet, but I'm working on it steadily. Plus, running will help you lose weight faster than walking.
  • I have a new found love for running; it's great at getting more weight off. Have you looked into the c25k program? www.coolrunning.com is the site that gives the 9 week program that will train you for a 5k. i'm about to start week 5 and I am loving it! Good luck with your new goal, you'll love running!
  • That's awesome! And at this rate, you'll be making friends with a brand new *smaller* pair before you know it!!
  • I try to run 4x a week, and then I do the elliptical 2x a week; each workout is approx. 45 min. I'm not really doing much strength training right now, but I know it's important. If I could motivate myself, I would do more strength but I just don't like doing it!
  • I'm having a terrible time too. Low fat ice cream Friday night, a glass of wine last night, and heart healthy waffles this morning. I'm not over my calories, but only because I've been exercising. I just really miss DH this weekend... Don't worry about ruining this week. Every day is a chance to start over. We just learn…
  • I like to use extra calories on a bowl of cereal (I like special K, honey bunches, and fruity cheerios) and then I drink the milk from the bowl...yummy! Def. don't store them and save them for another day. it will only mess with your metabolism. i have 300 extra calories for the day...I'm going to partake in a glass of…
  • Hi ladies! I just got back from a visit to my sister's house in Oregon (we live in GA), and we had so much fun! I've not really lost much the past 2 weeks (I think 2#?) but I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things now. Holly your dress is beautiful! I think you'll knock him dead! And for those doing c25k, I'm doing…
  • Almonds are good. I found some at Trader Joe's that are coated in sesame seeds...YUMMY!! And my new love? Almond butter...by itself, on a banana, or on bread...so good! I also like slices of skim mozarella And though some don't like them, I love rice cakes. Especially the apple cinnamon ones! And only 50 calories.
  • Hi all! I was out of town for a week and didn't get a chance to weigh in. I was on vacation and didn't have any expectation of weight loss, even though I did exercise (flying always makes me retain water like crazy!) Here's my stats for the week: 12/31- 190 lbs 1/7- 187 lbs 1/21- 183 lbs Total lost in 2010: 7 lbs Goals for…
  • 12/31- 190 lbs 1/7- 187 lbs 1/14- 184 lbs 3 more pounds lost. Total of 6b lbs this year! Marjot- love the challenge for the week! Totally doable, and such a good idea! I've been trying to do 5 servings/day for weeks now and can't ever quite get it right. This will force me to do it!
