I'm not trying to advise you to break your diet, but I had Mexican food almost once a week and still managed to lose 32 lbs in 3 months. I think one cheat day a week is fine. My usual Mexican meal is 1 chile relleno, 1 bean tostada and one beef burrito with lots of green chile.

I think it depends on your frame size. I dropped 32 lbs and 3 dress sizes going from a 12 to a 6. I even fit in a few 4's. I have a small frame.

From my personal experience cutting out wheat really helped. I lost 5 inches off of my chest (where your bra sits on your rib cage), 5 inches off of my waist and 5 inches off of my hips from replacing wheat with brown rice. I get this every now and then too. I find that taking a really good multivitamin or (prenatal vitamin even if you are not pregnant) seems to help. One's body may be low on vitamins or certain minerals. I have also noticed that I do not gain weight when I give in to the urge to eat a lot more.
