Congrats!!! Awesome job! Your story sounds familiar to mine. Last summer this time I was headed to 300lbs. quickly, and felt TERRIBLE all the time. Found out I was becoming a diabetic and that scared me so I started just changing everything. No drinking and so many other bad habits. I've found out that making better…

I agree with everyone here admiring you so I couldn't say anything else not said except, how big is your heart? I bet it's far greater than their negative comments to you. In my experience: people who are so quick to find or invent fault in others are actually those who are the broken ones. Enjoy being the beautiful "you"…

I say consult your doctor, have a full physical exam, bloodwork if they order it. One question pops up immediately....diabetes?? Your doctor will explore all issues, just be candid with him/her. Don't leave anything out during your visit. My body went through may odd things when I changed my life a year ago. Best of luck!!

Diabetes. A year ago I was well under way to destroy my body, and doing a good job at it. I knew something was wrong with me by Thanksgiving when I spent most of my day in bed with no energy, extremely thirsty, other things were going wrong as well. My daily caloric intake a year ago was about 5,400 calories, and NO…

YES!! lol. I quit the binge drinking as well as bad eating but I swear I could write a cookbook for drunks.

I thought I was being creative one night when I got home from the bar and couldn't find the usual late night munchies. So I chopped up the hot dogs I had and cooked them with a taco seasoning packet, as if to make usual tacos, ketchup and hot sauce, then added the mixture with chopped pepperoni, and mixed all of it into a…

Last Fall I started taking a bottle of "Stop ingesting 5400 calories per day", and I've renewed my supply orders monthly since. Lost almost 50 pounds with this. LOL. ;) For real though, I'd stay clear of sales pitches like that. I also agree that Dr. Oz is a snake oil salesman. BTW the bottles of "Stop ingesting 5400…

Tomorrow is a new day and get moving, literally. Pick up your cardio workout no matter how you like to do it. Move forward not back. Don't throw your system into shock by starving/limiting the next day to compensate for the recent extra calories . That would only mess with your sugar levels. Make a plan to reward yourself…

Working on a music track for my upcoming album in Ableton Live 8. Too late for a snack though and I'm hungry. Glass of milk it is I guess.

Here's my favorite omelette that I think is kinda healthy, especially if you use mostly or all egg whites. I use 2 whites, 1 yolk for this, for the filling I add 2 spoonfuls of lowfat cottage cheese and a tablespoon of salsa. Add some black pepper and a no-salt seasoning or garlic and onion powder, maybe some chili powder…

Only real bad date was years ago (pre-cell phone days). Went to a hockey game with a girl I was seeing for a few weeks, then to a pub for food and drinks and she left for what she said was just gonna be maybe 5 minutes to the bar next door to catch up with a girlfriend quickly and then be right back. She said I need not…

As an occasional bartender I've discovered that clear liquors are better than say Whiskey, So-Co, Tequila, etc. Juices at bars and reception halls will be regular juices containing sugar so avoid that (for example: Vodka & Cranberry). Tonic water has sugar too so be aware of Gin or Vodka & Tonics. If you know the reception…

Hi. I don't know if this lady falls into "Indie" but she was highly recommended by a music friend of mine who listens to many different styles out there. I do too I guess, and that's why I'll pass on Regina Spektor to you. If you're already relaxed and want to hear some music to chill out more with give her a try. She's a…
