cheese, eggs and nuts (including peanut butter) are all good sources of protein. I would encourage him to eat more fruit if he won't eat veggies, although he is missing out on a lot of super foods. I would also encourage him to eat whole grains - whole wheat bread and pasta for more nutritional value.

mine is too - donuts, dominos and candy abound! And I have the worst will power. I have found that a glazed plain donut is 180 calories and a small slice of dominos cheese pizza is 170. I just try to limit myself to things that I can counteract at the gym.

I have 2 rules when I drink. alternate every drink with a glass of water. avoid beer, the carbonation makes me more bloated. I drink diet coke and rum. 64 calories. I try to avoid drinking at dinner, I get club soda with a twist of lime. makes it look like you have a real drink and people stop pushing you to join in.

my father did atkins too and had success with it at the time. I still think a diet that cuts out things that fruits and some veggies (tomatos, etc) is stupid.

don't buy it or buy it in individually wrapped portions (if you can find them) so that you have instant portion control.
