Check out your local Aldi if its available. I get by on about $30 a week. And I eat all the time. Add another $10 a week or so for meat (which you don't eat) Doubt I break $50 a week on groceries.

My initial reaction was disbelief at the ridiculous workout that was being done. In 2 weeks it won't be hard. In 4 it will be routine. Then month 2 starts it all over again :) Eat well!

I like to cook some steak in my cast iron skillet. I then fry my already cooked rice in the beef juice. Add veggies as desired. Curry powder goes great in the rice when frying it too.

Flex your arms in the mirror. Combine this with making funny faces :) 2 sets of 10 reps, take the 3rd set to failure. But in all seriousness you get to learn a lesson about willpower. You can focus on diet alone.

"that's just the way it is" NO!

+1 Thanks for sharing your journey :)

If you are doing IF you need to eat more calories than someone who eats smaller meals more often. Look into it at least, I did the research on IF for a month before deciding it wasn't going to help me any (body fat % not low enough etc). On topic - I admit I do not know what SlimQuick is and back up the evil of cleanses,…

Hmm motivation. How do I stay motivated. I look at where I've been, and compare it to where I want to go. Crazy fun workouts will never stand in my way :) I know how I want to look, how I want to feel and its really all in all pretty simple how to get there. Getting into better shape became something I want more than…

Rule of thumb for counting fry oil calories is if there's oil in the pan when you're done, count half.

My thoughts exactly :) Congratulations on your success! And more importantly on being happy :)

I have only one pair. I wear them on dry pavement, wet pavement, snow and ice and I've used them on the treadmill a few times. I haven't tried trail running yet, not sure how they would do in those circumstances.

Personally opinion says healthy diet is what makes the difference. Maybe I'm just being anecdotal. I'm with the folks who say "what's the point of losing weight if you don't look good and aren't healthy."

I LOVE cooking. It's one of my few real hobbies. Cooking/baking are not strange in the slightest. I particularly like baking cookies. How do people expect to eat if they cannot cook? *Thanks for the reminder to go clean the kitchen haha.

I want to lose the next 10 lbs convincingly so I'll begin strictly following my diet plan. It's time to exercise the more important muscle there is - Willpower. Then I get to enlist in the military :D

I'm not picky about macro %'s so i tend to eat a lot of fats. Tree nuts, Avocados, Sweet Potatoes, Quinoa, Couscous, Carrots, Celery or Apples with Peanut Butter (yum), Greek Yogurt+Protein Powder(1 scoop per half cup). That's all I've got off the top of my head for now, hope it helps :)

No, and I haven't had the flu in 10 years or more. I've never had the flu shot. Never will get one if I can help it. Many people I know who do get them still get the flu.

I like to get pizza on friday nights. Usually eat half of a 14inch or so. This week I ate the other half saturday (logged the calories both days) Went slightly over friday, and about even saturday. I call this victorious. I find it good for my own personal morale and base my decision not on a training theory but just that…

Post fancy pictures on MFP. Then I'm enlisting in the Air Force. While I wait to go to Basic Military Training I'm going to weight lift. SL 5x5 or the 5-3-1 programs I hear good things about. I will start weights super super low. Probably 100#'s even though I'm sure I can still squat 400. I will eat calorically neutral (or…

"No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch" I think that sums it up fairly well. You will get stronger with time, injury or no. Great job pushing through :)

+1 Inspiration. Thank you :D

I went out to the bar after work. Then ate out. 700 calories over yesterday, and today is a new day. All part of the overall plan of enjoying life along the way. Deprivation gets you nowhere. You'll be fine :)

I'm pretty particular to having fried eggs with whole grain toast. I sautee mushrooms and spinach to go on it and usually a piece of cheese on each piece of toast. (thin sliced sargento) Sometimes a greek yogurt cup with it.

I have a treadmill, weight bench, 300# barbell set, adjustable dumbells (want to upgrade to a hex set) ab mats, rubber bands and Insanity. I would like to acquire a squat rack with a spotter. Maybe floor mats and rubber 45's so i can drop weights on the floor without breaking stuff. In a perfect world maybe.

4-5 weeks, But was 240 at that particular starting point. Your skin can't keep up with weight loss like that though :(

Reminds me of when I first step foot in a weight room. I remember that feeling. Took me a while to get used to it. The next year of High School I made that room my home. By the time I'd finished 3 years lifting I'd gone from benching like, 95 at the start, to 300, and squatting parallel 435. Leave all hesitation at the…
