Hmmm, much pizza eaten and some of my husband’s work xmas cocktails tasted, I’m over my calories today. Still under for the week though though frankly, who knows how many calories were in that pizza. A good day, if not the most abstemious. Fish Friday tomorrow, which is never a difficult day to keep healthy!

Thank you lovely people! Hearing from you and getting my blasted assignment 99% finished has combined to make me a very cheerful bunny this morning! My son is home in an hour from school for the holidays so made it just in time 😁 @melichalupa sorry your soup is getting boring. Can you portion and freeze it for a later…

Ok so a bit of reassurance please. Today I measured my foods really carefully and ate a nice lunch and BIG supper. According to MFP, the ingredients of my recipe and my scales, I was really really low on calories. I’m not hungry. I couldn’t easily eat more without turning to junk food, and I’m losing weight at a steady…

Coffee tastes of headaches

@HealthyTrent How are you today? Sorry to hear you had a headache, and hope it didn’t mess your day up too badly @Dukare of course! You have so much on your plate right now that there is always going to be something that has to give. I did t even try to do more than eat right recovering from mine, so the fact you’re…

@melichalupa am another huge fan of roasted chick peas. With chilli and cumin 😍. It’s been too long, must make them again... Checking in myself, it was a good day. Ate well within my calories and also did a couple of trips out by bike just getting chores done. Exercise?! Yay! Add in a haircut too with deep conditioning…

My shoulders have corners!

Hi and welcome @roxinronni ! I have the same issues with old favourite foods in the cupboard and it’s been the downfall of EVERY previous weight loss attempt. For me it’s not chocolate or crisps (completely off the menu due to migraines). It’s biscuits, mince pies, snack bars. We’re a very active house so carby snacks are…

Hah! Thanks for the good vibes @melichalupa and @HealthyTrent. Today was a much better day. First day my week at home on “study” and eating stayed pretty much exactly on plan. Did very little exercise so the plan for tomorrow is to cycle into town and get the food shopping for the rest of the week. Hoping for 73.5 at the…

Argh I’ve written two check ins and lost both due to hitting “done” rather than “reply” 😖 Today wasn’t the best day. I ate pretty much exactly goal calories but that was as breakfast, lunch AND dinner. Usually I skip at least one of the former which makes dinner an easy meal to enjoy. Today I stupidly ate my second…

Hah! Not only did I not have a mince pie at work today (I’m saving my first taste of mince pie for Xmas worked!)but my DELIGHTFUL husband brought home Waitrose extra special ones last night too which I am studiously ignoring 😩 Worst thing is I know he got them because he knows I love them and wants to make me happy. My…

This is going to sound daft, but I really had an NSV this week. I joked with a fellow teacher about how many layers I had decided to wear to counteract the cold in the classroom. She giggled and said “yeah I thought you were looking a bit chubby today”. If she thought I was fat (or even worried about my weight) she’d NEVER…

@Dukare wow I know where you are coming from! Babies are hard work though. When we were all new mums we had a mantra: 9 months on, 9 months off. Give your body time to recover and eat right. It will fall off (particularly if you’re breastfeeding!) Congratulations on your little one and much joy in your first Xmas together x

Posting here as I am going to be facing my first real Xmas food challenge tomorrow morning 😬 Last meeting of the year for us trainee teachers and the experienced staff member is bringing mince pies. I LOVE mince pies, despite them being about 250kcal each. I could fit it in, but I promised myself I wouldn’t do that until…

Trent I totally get where you are with the work. Am training to be a teacher this year and despite only teaching half a normal timetable I’ve been spending hours every night working on lesson plans. Sitting at the kitchen table would previously have been prime snacking opportunity (I am looking directly at the snacks…

Hi Mason, just spotted this and notice that you’ve dropped 7 pounds since the 3rd? Not an expert here but that sounds like a huge loss for someone who isn’t carrying much spare. Sending you warm thoughts, hope you go through with your appointment and that it is helpful. I know how it is to see something different in the…

Checking in. The weekends are harder as I’m generally at home where the food is good and plentiful and everyone else is eating semi-continuously (the rest of my family is slender and active). At lunch today I wasn’t feeling hungry due to a late and larger than normal breakfast so joined my family at the table with my tea…

@kathi2587 hi! Can’t claim to be in any way an expert but seem to be finding this time easier than previously. The difference is this time I decided at the end of October that if I couldn’t lose 5kg by xmas, I’d seek outside help. The alternative was accepting that I simply cannot control my weight, buying ever larger…

Congratulations! Wishing you and your family a happy and loving holiday season 😃

Pizza night! Knew it was coming, looked forwards to it, fit it into my calorie target and thoroughly enjoyed it! The local artisan sourdough pizzas barely have any cheese on and lashings of fresh rocket even made it look healthy! Loving the fact that this fits into a way of living that is getting me closer to my goals…

As someone who has been down this road before, I’m finding myself very mistrustful of the ease with which it is happening this time. Keeping within my calorie goal is trivial and I feel well fed. It’s too easy, so pleasure in my success to date is rather spoiled by a belief that it’s not “real”. This group will understand…

So my Achilles heel is biscuits. I utterly love them, and have accepted that I have no control over my intake once I get started. Today after donating blood the lovely ladies were very insistent that I have something to eat from the biscuit-and-chocolate table. I went for a packet of mini-cheddars which turned out to be…

Hi, Bex here. I’d love to join in too. I’ve always seen myself as in control of my life and choices. At the end of October this year I faced I to the realisation that I had let my weight creep up since nearly hitting my goal weight in 2016, and that I was now at my heaviest non-pregnant weight ever. Thinking it through, I…

[quotew="Sand_TIger;c-45535524"] Red lentil pasta is nice too - some say there are anti-nutrients in it but I don't eat it often enough to worry[/quote] Mainlining white tea between meals - it’s the most extraordinary appetite suppressant. Over the last decade I’ve definitely moved away from a normal cuppa to something a…

When I hit 73kg (a loss of 9kg) I will get the big drawer of clothes out from under the bed and see what fits me now. There’s a denim pencil skirt in there that I can’t wait to see again. On current progress, this could happen before Christmas!
-
Yeah. Me too today. Was doing so well, limiting myself to the sugarless wholemeal mince pies (which fit and are yummy). Then I tasted the shards of my son’s gingerbread house and that was it... I need to either stop baking or slather every bake in chocolate (which I avoid due to migraine). Wish it wasn’t that way but need…

I am sooooooo looking forwards to going under the bed and getting back out clothes I put away when they “got too tight”. And then wearing them!

Someone shared a photo of me singing with the work choir at a charity Xmas lunch last week. I was wearing a favourite pair of shoes and was flat out delighted to see my legs looked fabulous in the shot. I’ve only just started to lose weight after a huge gain and had assumed they looked like tree trunks! I’ve a long way to…

I’m in a similar position OP. My family are all slim, healthy and active which means they ravenously eat anything anytime. Having been rather sedentary since a health thing a few years back, I feel weird not joining in (so gained a load of weight). Plus I like food! My recent brainwave has been to log my day’s eating in…

A quick thank you to everyone who posted this. Super helpful even years later!
