  • it seems to be really trendy right now to quote someone then simply put 'this' underneath to show how much you agree... in the spirit of being trendy... THIS^^^^
  • i always would put my child first... first before the schools power trippin!
  • The bottomw line is that the state got no place intruding in private family life and parenting. Therefore regardless of a childs weight this is inappropriate and in my (generally very informed and accurate) opinion it is basically an itrusion on individuals' human rights (the section about private and family life). That…
  • Surely weather she obese it not is irrelevant, the school should stick to the 3 rs and other great education, not health. Will the dr be testin her times tables next??
  • i dont even need to look at the pics to comment because i still strongly feel it is not the schools place to get involved, caring for kids is for the parents, not the school. Weighing kids can cause so much worry and upset and never does any good really. it should be banned.
  • I'm so glad my school never sent any awful letters home about me, even though i did actually get bigger each year! It wouldnt have helped one bit, would have made it worse in fact. The young person suffering anorexia is the hero for battling such a horrible thing, and their parents for supporting them. got nothing to do…
  • If you are american , it is not that your employer cares one bit, it is just because they conntribute to your health care. because of socialised health care in the UK, employers dont tlk about people health much.... good news for me!! If I was in that situation, I would tell the health people that I did NOT want to engage…
  • its not about being coddled. i am an adult now but even when i was a kid i hated it. It might have been ok for you but others, maybe who was natural worriers or have experienced fat being presented as a morally terrible thing in their family etc, miht find the whole thing much more difficult. There was probably kids in…
  • This is where I disgree,i think it is the parents responsibility and also RIGHT to manage their health, it is the schools simply to educate them, and schools have gone too far into other area in my opinion. Obviously different if the child is being abused or whatever but weight is not the schools concern. i hate the idea…
  • i hate that schools weigh children!!!!! for one thing i think it is not the schools place to tell parents how tocare for there kids and also, it is cruel to the children, who probably worry a lot about being weighed. They just strted to bring this in during my later school years, i paid my brother to go for me, or just…
  • Thank you all, some great tips bout how to make the most of my cals! It doesn't sound so bad i guess, i just need to PLAN. I love the padding out meals idea, i hate smll portions. Just because I hate people thinking badly of me and my diet. Just any people in geberal. There was a guy on here once who said I 'seemed lazy',…
  • ithink the thing some people didnt understand is... i dont see this to be problem. i want a diet that looks good to other people, it is only a problem if i fail to acheive it.
  • You're right about that bit- i do care a lot about what other people think of it, it is a significant consideration and something i need to factor into my efforts. That is just how it is. That is a good idea bcs mama. i hate those red numbers and i hate when it doesn't say 'joselo2 was under his calorie goal'. I wish there…
  • Just to make clear that was an error i wrote- i started at 406lbs now 368, not 486!! I lost weight not gained, hehe. yeah, i think i need to find the pace what is right, maybe somewere between the 2. It just annoys me when i log, and I feel i have has the PERFECT day, absolutely ideal... yet it says i am over so it doesnt…
  • I have to keep my diary closed because i worry a lot about people's reactions, easier to avoid it. That is the thing, it dont feellike a lot of food to me at all. 2980 felt doable but 2300 is just so low. Maybe i just need to find more really low cal food or something. Or maybe a 1.5 goal is better and ill just exercise…
  • yeeeah, a mean i am very much NOT in the little bit to lose catogory but i can understand tthat... basically i think the forums can be very *****y about nearly anything you could talk about! mpf is a resource for anyone who wants it... even a few pounds can be the difference between feeling happy in your skin and feeling…
  • i'm losing weight for me (heaven knows ppl in my family tried to gt me to for many years before i decided i was ready!) but not i started, it is jst really important that people think I'm doing good enough. I just find it so hard to cope with people thinkin I am arubbish dieter or not trying hard enough or whatever. I dont…
  • thank you brien! :)
  • thank you all. maybe it is goo me to get used to ea less, i see how it goes... if it is extremely hard i might increase a little because i think it has to be realistic to maintain also. i just cant help feel that impressing ppl is very important, just about the most important really. not even for them to be like 'wow…
  • Thanks for the advice everyone. i altered to 2lbs loss a week, i am terrified at how low the calorie goal is(2300) but it looks more impressive and like it should, so i think this will be better for approval from others, and hopefully i can lose 2lbs a week and be realy amazing... wish me luck!!!
  • I'm 5'7 (male) started at 406lbs, now 370lbs. losing about a lb a week, though it can vary a little. I put low exercise as a base line but i log when i swim or do entle circuit training or walking (these are the main kinds i do). I just worry that it doesn't seem as good as other people, when people point out these people…
  • OMGosh jamesy you give the best advice ever and you make me laugh with it, hehe! i think you totally get where am coming from so you never would judge. you inspire me bevcause you found the best love doesn't matter at all about weight... i thought it was just glurgey stuff people say but true love that is deeper than skin…
  • he he, thank you, I am a man though (JoseLo is my nickname from Joselito which is my real name, a spanish male name) I never thought much about supplement, maybe I should. yeah, a mean it is working so far, I've lost 34 lbs, but then i started pretty big so anything was a vast improvement really! but idk if as you get…
  • I don't really ever eat grains but i havesome of each of the rest each day generally. Is grapenuts a grain? If so maybe I do!
  • Thank you all. But in very very honsty even some of that was starting to go over my head abit, it isjust like i don't understand the terms, what they mean. I am just trying to do the calories out greater than calories in thing. Will tht alone work or have I no chance? xxxxxx
  • wow, totally agree! If it is actually pretty much compulsory, why not just have it automatically included and be done with it? If the tip is needed to give them enough wages, then the employer should be paying more! Somones right to a living wage and suitable remuneration for the work they do should not be at whim of…
  • Yep!!!! I can't work out if the waitor wrote that or the customer but if it ws the waitor, if they are the kind of person who would wrote that, they are probably rude and horrible enought that they'd be an awful server anyways, who probably deserved no tip. I would complain right to the top and never ever go there again.…
  • was that the customer or the waiter who wrote that comment??? Now THAT is rude!!!!!
  • i dunnoo.... we don't know what kind of service was recieved. It is probably a cultural thing because tipping is a bit more discretionary in the uk than usa, but if the waiter gave a poor service, she shouldn't have to pay imo. that said, she should have been honest wit that and not used the 'mommyyyy' excuse. a case of…
