Still here! I'm doing Insanity at the moment, and an hour of Callanetics 3x a week is a little beyond me currently! Although, having said that, I really should start it back up again. It was the main thing that helped with losing inches...hmmm!

I'm 5'5" too! My goal is around 120 lbs, although it's entirely dependent on how I feel... And I agree with you on taking photos - it's a tricky thing because ideally you would think that if you're happy with your weight when you look in the mirror then that's that. And photos are a whole different ball game - I always…

I'm not sure why you're aiming for 140 if you're happy at 150. I mean, weight loss is one thing - maintenance is a whole other ball game. It's not the end of the road, but rather a new road to start on. So, you could start maintaining your weight now and changing the way you think about it. (ie: not a chance to slip back…

Having seen how they actually do the procedure... ugh..NO WAY! Even if I was rich and could afford it. Plus, I always believe it's better to do these kinds of things on your own...make yourself self reliant for fat loss. But whatever, each to their own!
-
Yup, same here! I'm also glad I started measuring and taking before pics from the start. But I wish I'd started exercise at the start. Even if it was only 20 minutes three times a week, it would have been better than nothing!

I'm also one of the world's most persistent procrastinators. Yeah, everything in my life gets left to the last minute so it's no surprise I've achieved so little (or rather, I have achieved much, but I could have achieved so much more if only I got off my *kitten*). Somehow, I've managed to keep up with healthy eating.…

I think that's like a standard thing in the weight loss journey, and could be down to any number of factors. The fact that you look and feel slimmer is the main thing. Scale pounds are meaningless in this context when you are actually losing fat! Me, at the moment, I'm the same but I'm losing weight in places I'm not…

Depends on the presenter! I prefer American ones, for some reason (I'm from the UK). The British presenters are too...meh. I need over the top American's to shout at me to get me going (therefore, I'm a big fan of Jillian, Shaun T, Billy Blanks etc...). I also prefer them fit, so I can look at them at think "Yeah, if I…

I usually found it took me 3-4 days to get into the levels, then it became REALLY hard! Like it would take me a while to get used to what I was doing, and only when I really started doing it on form it would exhaust me! So by the time I was working really hard on level 1, I moved to level 2 and it became 'easy' again until…

Although I've kept a pair of trousers from when I was at my biggest (my fat pants, as they say) and I put them on now and again, my brain can't comprehend I was ever that big. Like...I hold them out like you do, and I'm wondering how they were ever tight on me... did I ever fill these up with my fat?!!! I find it difficult…

I'm day 4 today - I'm sore, but not shockingly sore... Is it because I've been exercising a lot before I started Insanity? (last few weeks I was doing a lot of Jillian Michaels and had some muscle soreness from that...?) I do know I'm taking it a little easy though. Anyone feel free to add me!

Not sure I have any wise advice for anyone!!
-
My calves seem to be OK so far (I'm on day 4!) but I know when I started good old 30 Day Shred a while back, my calves were like yours for the first week or so. I must be used to jumping up and down now!
-
Ditto on doing it at your own pace. I can't do any push ups, so when they do push ups I see if I can manage one (whilst they're busy doing 10 or so!) and I only keep up with the pace of the people on the DVD when I know I am capable of doing that (ie: for the jogging parts). For the jumping, I keep it easy too because I…

I'd read 'Secrets of a Former Fat Girl' and the author talks about trying not to tell people about your weight loss goals, for the exact same reasons you point out. Their idea of 'weight loss' and your idea of 'weight loss' could be radically different, and many people will feel like they can chime in with advice that will…

OMG... I need to tell my boyfriend about this. He LOVES those kinds of movies!! And in a similar vein, I watched about 3 minutes of 'Cannibal Holocaust' - funnily enough the scene with the actual turtle butchering...blegh. Nice music though, done by the same guy that did the Deer Hunter! (Apparently he had no idea what…

I started yesterday. I have a heart rate monitor, and I was very conscious about my heart rate going too high so I didn't go mega overboard with the exercises. I managed to get through the workouts OK, but like I said, I was pushing but not going crazy. There were some exercises I could match the people in the DVD, some I…

I have a 'Complan' (chocolate) shake for breakfast on days when I don't have the stomach to eat anything. I really like it, and I make it with Almond Milk (you can make it with any milk, or even water though it does taste a little less creamy with water). It has a nice taste and is nice and creamy. You can get that from…

The more processed food I eat, the more of it I want. When I have a phase of eating say...90% clean then my weight loss is fine. But then, I have a cake here, biscuit there...then some more and I start craving them even more. I never not eat what I want - meaning if I want a cake I'll eat it even if it's over my calories…

I'm finding that sizing is a mystical and confusing process that has nothing to do with actual inches you are. Here in the UK, I can fit into a few size 10 items of clothing, and a few size 8 items of clothing. This is despite the fact that according to my measurements I'm a size 12 in most stores... Eg: I'm currently…

Less surface area to shave Jeans stop cutting you in half at the waist I have hip bones, and its weird! They dig in when I lay on my side in bed Skin is marginally less greasy I can sit closer to my desk now, this throwing my arms out of sync with my keyboard

If I knew how to post gifs, I'd post one of that boss from 'Office Space' and his responses to conversations, which is pretty much what I do when faced with stuff like this: "Avocados are bad for you because they're high in fat..." "Yeahhhhhhhh, mmmmmmmmm..............." [walks away]

My goal was 119 lbs (I'm 5'5"), picked because it's 8.5 stone so seemed like a reasonable goal! But yeah, I've never been a healthy weight as an adult so I had absolutely no idea, and so I looked at a whole bunch of charts for what's good at my age/height and picked something on the lower end of the healthy scale. But…

Oooh - don't think I've weighed in yet! As of Monday 17th June I was 138 lbs. Roughly around 19 lbs to go until my goal (though that's a rough goal that's not set in stone). I've been quite slack recently though - mainly trying to get my calories to around 1300-1400. Not doing much exercise. I'm gonna try and shake things…

I watched that, and I thought it was quite interesting. Stupid, mostly...like all tv shows of this type there was a lot of padding and weird marketing. Why did they have to be dragged to an empty warehouse and lined up like naughty school children to be given their medical results? But apart from that, there were some…
-
Oh no, I agree about not ignoring or avoiding someone because of their conduct. I'm not talking about enduring bad behavior. I mean once you have told them to leave you alone and they continue to be persistent. Avoid, which is what you suggested anyway with regards to switching gyms. Yeah - ignoring them is a bit more…

Those are awesome words, and something I'm trying to work to incorporate into my life every day!
-
''that's completely inappropriate. i'm here to _____.'' Ooohh - I'm totally adding that to my repertoire! Part of me wishes that in these situations I could just stand up and yell "STRANGER DANGER!!" then point and scream at them like in 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers'.

I was thinking about this thread last night, especially in regards to my own experience I talked about here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1015528-standing-up-for-yourself-and-harassment And if you have any issues about the repercussions of standing up to persistent people etc.. you might want to have a look at…
