  • Hi Everyone, 4 weeks in and I'm down .4 lbs this week. I've lost a total of 5.6 lbs over the past 4 weeks so I really can't complain - it never goes as fast as I'd like. I need to remind myself to stay committed for the entire week - I often get a bit lazy over the weekend. My big challenge coming up: I'm going away for 11…
  • Hi Everyone, 2 weeks in and I'm down another 2 lbs. Again, very happy with my results this week. I'm having success focussing on my 3 positive changes each week (walking every day, no treats 6 days per week, drinking 8 glasses of water per day). I'm still finding them a challenge so I'm going to stick with them for another…

  • Hi Everyone, Well, here I am 1 week in. I'm down 2 lbs so very happy with my results this week - it's been a while since the scale has moved in the right direction. I'm tired of all the ups and downs so I'm trying to implement only those changes that I can live with for the rest of my life. I'm trying to focus on 3…
  • Hi Everyone, I realize I'm joining late but better late than never. I've been away from MFP for a while - just trying to get back on track now. I'm so happy to have some support. I'll probably weigh in on Tuesdays. Challenge starting weight is 226.4 lbs... 10/28- 226.4 lbs 10/30- 11/6- 11/13- 11/20- 11/27- 12/4- 12/11-…
  • Walking is my thing. I struggle to get myself out the door to begin my walk but I'm NEVER sorry I went. It has contributed greatly to my success in the past. Even just from the point of view of tightening everything up - my pants fit much better even if there's little change on the scale.
  • I've really been working on increasing my water intake - it really does make a difference!!
  • CSW: 211.2 CGW: 191.2 UGW: 140 Apr 11: 213.6 Apr 17: 213.8 Results to date: Up 2.6 lbs. I'd like to blame this on the fact that my husband was off work for 4 days but that's pretty lame. Plus, he's retiring in Oct so I need to get my act together before then or I'll be completely derailed when he's around all the time. No…
  • CSW: 211.2 CGW: 191.2 UGW: 140 Apr 11: 213.6 Sorry, I'm playing catch up: I was away for 5 days and apparently completely lost my mind with respect to food.
  • CSW: 211.2 CGW: 191.2 UGW: 140 I was away for a few days so my weight is up about 3 lbs. I expect that will drop off quickly. Having said that, I'm away again this coming weekend. I'm viewing this as my first big challenge rather than my first big excuse!! Thank you, Kayjosh 2422 for doing this again. Most appreciated!!
  • I'm in. 17 weeks - I'm aiming to lose about a pound per week, after the initial week or so. I plan to go back to what has worked for me in the past: - log all of my food plus plan my meals ahead for the day - eating at home more and making healthy meals - cut out snacking between meals which, of course, means minimizing…
  • Yes, please. I essentially disappeared in the middle of this challenge. I've ended up where I started. But I'm ready to try again. Thanks for asking!
  • Good morning all! I hope you're feeling better, KayJosh!! This was my first week on this Challenge. You know what they say about slow progress is still progress - I'm going with that this week: I lost .8 lbs. It was quite a tumultuous week as I try to stabilize my diet and activity habits after a number of weeks of being…
  • Just starting now. Rolled back quite a bit while on vacation - really need to get that under control for next year!! I'm starting out on this Challenge at 208.2 lbs. Goal for this Challenge is 10 lbs - 198.2 lbs My original MFP starting weight was 238 lbs. My UGW is 140 ish or 68 lbs. Have a great week, everyone!
  • Good morning all, So pleased with my results again this week. I'm down 2 more lbs over the past 2 week. I can't take total credit for my results - there were 3 days with the flu that helped out - silver lining. I'm coming into a most challenging period: We're leaving today to drive to Toronto to have Christmas with our…
  • Commercially prepared foods have so much sodium in them. If you're now preparing your own lunches, you're probably consuming a lot less sodium. Plus drinking lots of water. You'll probably see great results this week. And you lost almost 3 lbs this week - that's awesome!!
  • Good morning all, So so pleased with my results this week - down 3.4 lbs (that's 2.4 lbs overall). Virtually unheard of for me. But I'll take it. I've done a few things differently this week: I've been trying to drink more water. I've been reading a few articles on the subject and it's definitely something top pursue.…
  • A bit of a ho-hum week - I struggled just to stay where I was. I'm Canadian so I can't even blame Thanksgiving as that was weeks ago. I was reading that MFP Email: tips from people who'd lost more than 100 lbs. Very inspirational. Almost every person emphasized the importance of drinking lots of water. It's on my list of…
  • I've given this subject much thought over the years. I don't think it's about 'deserving' to lose the weight - it's about 'doing what it takes' to lose the weight. I re-gain the weight for various reasons: I have a tendency to lose a certain amount of weight, I look better, I feel better - and then I become complacent. I…
  • Just playing catch up here: Starting weight for this Challenge: 202.4 lbs Week 1: 203.4 lbs Week 2: 202.0 lbs Week 3: I was away so no weigh-in
  • Just playing catch up here: Starting weight for this Challenge: 202.4 lbs Week 1: 203.4 lbs Week 2: 202.0 lbs Yay!
  • Just playing catch up here: Starting weight for this Challenge: 202.4 lbs Week 1: 203.4 Yikes! Not a great start!
  • I'm in!
  • Good morning, everyone: kayjosh2422: You have a lot on the go these days. You can be forgiven for not being perfect. But eating poorly is an added measure of stress and I'm sure you have more than your share of stress right now. Take care, Sweetie!! We Canadians are thinking of you lots and lots - we're sending you all…
  • A week late putting in my results - sorry: Here are my stats: MFP SW - 240 CSW - 203 CGW - 188 UGW - 140ish Week 1: 202.2 Week 2: 200.6 Week 3: 199.8 Week 4: 200.8 Week 5: 201.8 Week 6: 200.6 Week 7: 198.8 Week 8: 198.2 Week 9: 199.2 Total loss for this Challenge: 3.8 lbs Still to go: 11.2 lbs.
  • Hi Everyone, This week was a bit tumultuous. This was the last week with the kids and grandkids at the cottage. It went reasonably well. Too many treats but still quite a lot of walking. The meals were relatively healthy and portions probably a bit too large. All in all, I am quite pleased that my weight has, at least,…
  • Playing catch up again: Here are my stats: MFP SW - 240 CSW - 203 CGW - 188 UGW - 140ish Week 1: 202.2 Week 2: 200.6 Week 3: 199.8 Week 4: 200.8 Week 5: 201.8 Total loss for this Challenge: 1.2 lbs Still to go: 13.8 lbs.
  • Hi all, I'm still playing catch-up in recording my progress (or lack of such). I lost .8 lbs last week and then gained 1 lb this week. I'm still at the cottage with our daughter and 2 of the grandkids. So, while I'm not losing much weight, this is, in fact, huge progress for me - to be 3 weeks at the cottage with company…
  • Sorry all, I'm playing catch-up: Here are my stats: MFP SW - 240 CSW - 203 CGW - 188 UGW - 140ish Week 1: 202.2 Week 2: 200.6 Week 3: 199.8 Total loss for this Challenge: 3.2 lbs Still to go: 11.8 lbs
  • Good morning all, I lost 1.6 lbs this week. I'm very happy with that. I rolled back one day but got right back on track - so that's big progress for me. Lots of challenges in the coming week: I have 2 of my grandkids visiting now and, on Thursday, my son and his family arrive for a week. All of a sudden, I'm doing meal…
