  • I try not to snack at all between meals - this week it's something healthy but eventually I'm not content with healthy and then I revert back to the bad stuff. If I'm going to "learn" a new habit, I'd rather it be one of "no more eating after dinner".
  • Happy Birthday!!
  • Good morning, everyone, Well, the end of MY first week with this group. I managed to lose 1 pound. I've been struggling so much lately to get back on track - I'll gladly take a 1-pound loss. Off to the beach today. Have a great week, all B) .
  • Great idea! Love your picture. Did we all have that haircut? So sweet!
  • This is a good challenge for me - I struggle to drink enough. I'm going to fill my bottle 4 times per day to ensure I drink enough water.
  • Good morning, everyone, I'm just starting with this group. Here are my stats: MFP Start: 238 CSW: 194 CGW: 174 UGW: 140 7/19: 194 I'm currently at my cottage for 2 weeks with my 2 teenage granddaughters so this may not be the ideal time to start a program - or maybe it's the perfect time to make such a commitment. I'm…
  • Hi Everyone, I'm starting late - but starting!
  • Hi Everyone, I'm going to target a 10-lb loss for this Challenge. I've really been struggling for the past number of months so I think 10 lbs is a realistic goal. Best of luck to everyone! MFP SW: 238 UGW: 140 Challenge SW: 178 Challenge GW: 168 01/02 (Week 01): 178 01/09 (Week 02): 01/16 (Week 03): 01/23 (Week 04): 01/30…
  • Hi Everyone, I lost 1 lb this week. I've just hit my 60-lb mark, overall so I'm doing my happy dance today!! SW for this Challenge: 182 lbs CW: 178 lbs Lost for this Challenge: 4 lbs. Obviously won't hit my 20-lbs goal for this Challenge but that's OK - slow progress is still progress!!! Have a great week, everyone!
  • I lost 1 lb this week. I've really be stuck in neutral these past few weeks so it's great to see a bit of progress. This brings my total loss for this Challenge to 3 lbs - slow progress but progress, nevertheless. My total loss overall is 59 lbs. Have a great week, everyone.
  • I lost a pound this week. Yay!! MFP SW: 238 lbs Christmas Challenge SW: 182 lbs CW: 180 lbs Challenge GW: 162 lbs Pounds to go in this Challenge: 18 lbs. • I made Morning Glory Muffins yesterday. They take quite a lot of time to make so I made a double batch and froze them. I've modified a yummy recipe I found online to make it healthier. I've substituted ALL of the oil with zero-fat greek yogurt and ALL of the sugars with unsweetened apple sauce. To boost flavour and…
  • Good morning Cycletrak1. I'm having trouble with your spreadsheet - I'm not able to scroll through the lines - I have to use the tab on the right and it jumps several lines at a time so I'm never able to zero in on my line. May I ask you to update my results? I lost 1 lb this week - current weight 181. Thank you.
  • Good morning, everyone, I lost a pound this week. I'm so happy to be back on track - I've been in a holding pattern for several months. Starting weight for this Challenge: 182 Current weight: 181 Goal weight: 162 Have a great week, all. :)
  • Today I set out for my 1-hour walk and decided to keep going. So I turned it into a 90-minute walk. Feels great! As an aside, turns out, I must the slowest walker on earth - just about everyone was passing me - even an old lady blew past me like I was sitting on a park bench. Sheesh, fairly humbling!!! :)
  • As a means of measuring my progress (other than strictly by the scale) and providing inspiration, I buy a pair of pants 1 size smaller than I currently wear. I try them on every Monday. This is really helpful when the scale won't move - you can see the progress even though the numbers aren't there. This past weekend, I was…
  • MFP starting weight: 238 Current Weight: 182 Goal weight for the Christmas Challenge: 162 Ultimate Goal Weight: 140ish. Haven't been at this weight for many years so will have to determine exact goal when I get closer to it. Best of luck, everyone!! Have a great week!! :)
  • Yesterday I reminded myself that one mistake doesn't ruin the entire day. I ate more than I planned at breakfast and was feeling upset with myself. I then went to the gym, went for a long walk and prepared a nice healthy dinner with grapes for a bedtime snack. I completely salvaged the day - after a rocky start, it ended…
  • Hi Everyone, I'm turning 59 in a few weeks. I retired just over 2 years ago. I'm married with 2 grown kids and 3 grandchildren. I've been on MFP for about 3 years but got serious just over a year ago. I started MFP at 238 lbs and have lost 55 lbs (183 lbs), mostly within this past year. It's been a long time since I've…
  • Welcome to Canada. I hope you love it here. Vancouver is awesome - what's not to love.
  • Thank you so much. I'm in!!!
  • Thank you for creating the spreadsheet, Joshua. It's an excellent tool to record our progress. I've added my information to the bottom of the page.
  • Original MFP starting weight: 238 lbs Ultimate Goal Weight: 140-150 Starting weight for this Challenge: 183 Challenge GW: 168 I'll choose Tuesday as my weigh-in day.
  • Hi Everyone, I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. I moved here 2 years ago when I retired. I am married and we have 2 adult children and 3 perfect granddaughters. I got serious about losing weight, getting fit and improving my health almost a year ago - in August of 2014. In total, I've lost 55 lbs. I have another 30-40 lbs to…
  • Hi Everyone, I've been absent from MFP for a few weeks (just too much going on in my life). I've been trying to stay on track and was happy to see that I'm down a few pounds. I certainly didn't meet my 20 lb loss for this Challenge but I've lost 7 lbs. I've lost 55 lbs, in total - for which, I am very happy. Anytime I move…
  • I remained the same this week. My stats are: OSW: 230 lbs UGW: 140 lbs Start weight for this challenge: 182 lbs Current weight: 179 lbs Weight lost in this Challenge: 3 lbs Weight remaining to lose in this Challenge: 17 lbs Have a great week, everyone.
  • I'm definitely in for whatever the group decides. I prefer shorter end dates - it doesn't allow me to procrastinate. I like the idea of a Labour Day end date (with an appropriate amount of weight loss targeted - 9 weeks seems reasonable for a 20 lb target) for our next challenge. I find summer poses a particular set of…
  • Hi Everyone, I lost 1 lb this week. I finally feel like I'm back in control (somewhat). Went out for dinner last night and we walked to the restaurant - 10 km round trip - woot! woot! major (physical) accomplishment. Still ate reasonably when I got there which is an even bigger (emotional) accomplishment. Here are my…
  • Hi Everyone, I lost 1 lb this week. That brings my overall total to 50 lbs - woot! woot! My other good news this week is that, after 15 years, my doctor took me off blood pressure medication - double woot! woot! I started this process telling myself it was for my health but, the reality is, my primary motivation was to…
