  • That's what I'm shooting for! At *least* 20-25, anyway. I still have 45 pounds to lose (I just lost my first 10 in the past 4 weeks!) and I'm hoping that "the first" weight to go is "the easiest" - I think it is possible, if you led a life like mine (soda & fast food every day, sedentary lifestyle) and suddenly are eating…
  • When I saw a nutritionist my MFP had set my goals for 1200 as well... she in turn said, "You aren't eating enough." and set them to 1600-1800/day, along with at least 150 minutes of exercise per week, preferably 300 minutes per week. It sounds like you & I are similarly overweight - I am 5'7" and was 204 when I saw her…
  • You might also want to increase that calorie goal... see a nutritionist if you can. I had set my goals to 1300 a day and I have about 60 to lose. She said that I should be eating 1600-1800 calories a day & getting at least 30 minutes of exercise in per day, too. Good luck!
  • Oh no!! Haha. But you should be encouraged more now, right? I used to weigh myself on Wii Fit all the time - I haven't in a while. I think it's best to weigh yourself once a week (I weigh myself every 2 weeks) always at the same time each time.
  • I would *definitely* start with walking! I have quite a bit to lose, too, and when I started walking regularly, coupled with drinking *only* water (and a lot of it) & a couple glasses of skim milk each day, I started feeling better, lost a couple pounds... it's slow going at first, but you have to start somewhere! Also,…
  • WOW, you look so incredible! You're a beautiful woman through and through in all of the photos but what an inspiration. Thank you for sharing!
  • I have an app that I logged "dancing" into on my android & for 70 minutes (to include cooldown) it said I burned 343. The app is Cardio Trainer by WorkSmart Labs.
  • You should definitely take a rest day every week or so... or at least don't work out the same thing many days in a row. Your body knows what it needs, if you are feeling anything other than the "good workout sore" then you need a break!
  • Of course I want to be healthy and be able to do more things, and to cut back on my chances of disease but yes, I want to look amazing. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to love what you see in the mirror! I think that it is important though to recognize your beauty as you are, even if you don't like…
  • You'll get used to using MFP after a while - they added a new feature for you to put together a "recipe" for your meal. I approximate the weight of things from time to time but also have a kitchen scale (that goes up to 6 lbs) and that helps tremendously. After a while you just start to know how much 4 oz of liquid is by…
  • Welcome! You'll do just great! I've lost just over 10 pounds since I started MFP... I've kinda dropped off the bandwagon though, haha. Just keep logging your food and exercise! You will be amazed! It took me about 2 months, and I imperfectly kept at it. Good luck!!
  • I WOULD try the Edy's, but I have to be realistic with myself - I have no self control when it comes to portioning out my sweets. That's why I buy the little 3.6oz cups... I can't eat the whole tub in 2 days!! My primary issue is motivation. My job requires me to be on my feet for 8 hours out of the day, running around and…
  • I've tried... and failed. I've been at a stalemate after losing about 10 pounds. I also am an emotional eater; what I try to do, is portion what I like to eat when I "need" to eat: popcorn and ice cream (not together, of course!) I buy a few of the 50 cent Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream. Still 220 calories... but…
  • Thanks Banks! I had nooooo clue... hahaha.
  • I'm going to be making a batch of chicken for us to eat over the next few days, haha. Here's the recipe I've been using, and it is DELICIOUS! I cut (filet?) a bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts in half lengthwise, then mix some gravy/sauce mix (1/3 cupish) with lemon pepper seasoning and Goya Adobo all-purpose…
  • Thanks kimber507, I've written string cheese on my grocery list!
  • Celery and salsa is something I'll definitely try! I just had a stalk of celery and I'm craving junk food, haha. Eava57, I think I'll try the apple with some cheese. I looooove cheese :) Thanks!!
  • Awesome "wait" goals!!
  • Sweet! I just got under 190 a couple of weeks ago for the first time in a year... and I don't even have any baby fat :( Haha. Hang in there, you can do it!!
