When I stop counting calories my mind set usually flutters into "Pft...I didn't eat THAT much today..I can have this chocolate cake if I want." so I don't think I could ever really stop counting calories. Plus I've started doing it involuntarily which I suppose is a good thing. But it's AWESOME that you can do that and…

First reading this I thought you'd gained back twice the amount you lost, haha. You didn't even gain back that so DON'T stress. You've acknowledged the problem, and obviously know the solution, now all you need to do is get your butt into gear. Go back to eating your regular calories and immediately start training again.…

I would LOVE to join in! I need to lose 30-35 lbs and then hopefully build some muscle. Wanted to reach my goal by my birthday (november) but I personally think the end of the year would be more realistic.

Oh god, I could eat a load of fruit. I think it was the other day i had two cups of diced watermelon, an apple, a plum, two cups of grapes, and a few pineapple slices. Then again I don't eat fruit as a snack I eat it as an entire meal, either breakfast or lunch.

Honestly? I think it was after two months or so. EVERYONE had been noticing but me apparently. Then one day I was just like "Woah."

Yep, I was told to do the same thing and gained a few pounds. I just went down to about 1300 calories and I've been losing weight for several weeks in a row. Just do whatever works for you! Sometimes you might need to take breaks to restart your metabolism.

I just don't understand the point. Why do it? Eating the fruit will make you feel fuller.

Woah! That's awesome - congrats :)

You're at the beginning of your weight lose journey (judging by your meter) - I think that's why. You're still in the mindset of a "diet" and you feel like you're going to mess it up even if just eating a bit over your allotted calories. I was like that for a few weeks at the beginning of my journey. I don't think it's…

Today I actually packed a box of clothes that I don't plan on wearing again until I lose weight. A lot of them are new and some were old clothes that I bought with the intent of wearing once I reached my goal weight. Among them are a few band shirts, a leather vest, a waistcoat, a pair of black knit pants, and a very cute…

I have (had) the same exact issue. What I did (and it's been about a month or so and it's been working great for me - I also used to be like you, happened at least twice a week): 1) Threw out every source of junk in my house. Not kidding. Every ounce of it. If you have kids/other family members that eat this stuff then put…

Yeah, i've noticed that knee push-ups never really do much for me. This is all really great advice, thanks guys! I'll definitely try the negative push ups and i'm going to attempt to gradually build-up the amount I do. Much appreciated :)

This is great - thank you so much!

I think you two are right, giving myself a break will probably make me more prone to falling off the wagon completely. Well, hey, I've got 6 more pounds to get to that weight - hopefully this time it'll work out. Actually, I KNOW it will.

After about a month of doing it consistently, tracking became habitual for me. So just stick to it!

Plateau's kill me. For me, even if ONE week I find myself gaining, I start spiraling downwards. I'll get upset and aggravated and then just think "Well, this isn't even working so why bother?!" then basically eat everything around me. Obviously, I regret it afterwards. Usually I'm able to pick myself back up after a week…

I'm a little over 5'5" and I eat about 1300 calories (usually a bit more). And no, I don't eat back exercise calories.

As someone who lost weight CONSISTENTLY for about 9 months before beginning to binge-eat, I can attest to the fact that people off days - even if they never had them before. Why? Because as SOON as that scale stops budging, even if it's for a week or two, you (or me, whatever) go into a mode of panic. You start doubting,…

"Also remember that every little bit counts. It's like money. If you put away £10 every month in a savings account, you wouldn't even notice it. Things can build up. Over a couple of years, you would look to find a pot of cash you didn't know was there. Yes, you might have eaten a bag of crisps but if you can stop short of…

First and foremost I just want to thank you guys for taking the time to reply to this, and for all the messages I received. You're all right. Aside from the suggestions, your approach to this entire situation (in regards to mindset) is why you're all doing well. I think that's my main issue - changing my mindset. I tend to…

I wasn't blaming anyone, I know it's my own fault. It's not unheard of to fall off the wagon though. I'm not asking for sympathy or pity, I asked how you pull yourself out of rut because it's advice I need right now.

I definitely agree with you. Indulgent foods CAN be healthy. But people choose to mull over the unhealthy stuff they can't eat because we're programmed to simply want what we can't have or what isn't good for us.

Almond Toffee, peanut butter, coffee-flavored ice cream, and peanut M&MS. I have almost 0 will power

My BMR is 1640 and my TDEE is about 2500. Am I really supposed to be eating that much in a day? O_O
