  • I just moved the scale from my room so I stop weighing every day and weigh only once a week. I find that I get more compulsive and frustrated when I weigh in everyday. Try both and see what works best for you.
  • Thanks so much everyone. I definitely don't wear make up while working out (stopped wearing it unless I'm going out, really). And I've noticed that since I've started working out (only a week really), my face has cleared up a lot. I think it'll get even better once I have a set routine. I'm considering shower products for…
  • I use a cocoa butter stretch mark lotion that helps but I figured as much re: loose skin. I'm usually willing to splurge on face care. I'm really fond of Shea Moisture though so I might just buy a set of their cleanser/toner/moisturizer. Ahh yes, right now I use clean & clear dark spot remover (2% salicylic acid) and it…
  • I've been having this same issue! Hair line thinning (don't think it's alopecia though bc it's not bald patches but rather just hair thinning around my hair line and other areas on my scalp), fatigue/very low energy levels, etc. I just started working out which is helping with my energy and I plan on taking biotin and…
  • I wish I could show you a snapshot of my journey. I went from 190 lbs to 152 and back up to 215 in a matter of five years. Now I'm 148 lbs and feeling really great about this final stretch (goal is 140). The TIME is going to pass REGARDLESS, just keep working and you will *inevitably* get there.
  • This is awesome! I have about 10-15 lbs left to lose. Would love to join! Do you guys also want to start a group?
  • Yeah I definitely think activity during the summer might be key here. I will be working part-time and studying for my LSAT exam but I should try to find time in between to hit the gym or at the very least walk daily. Thank you!
  • Roughly speaking, I am aware of what I'm eating but not particular about my calorie counting. To be honest I feel as though that'll be equally as stressful. It's just on a weekly basis rather than daily. I will be way too conscious of what I'm eating and I find that anxiety inducing.
  • I feel you. Back in May I bought five pairs of VERY expensive jeans (about 400$ total) because I had been really proud of weight loss and my old pants that I had had for ages no longer fit. And I stick to about two of those jeans for the coming months, then when I was preparing to wear one of my favorite jeans in the…
  • Yeah, I was trying to do this (because I was thinking along that same line), but I really feel as though I look exactly the same as I did when I was 10 lbs heavier last month. Also my shirts seem to fit the same, I think.
  • I carry most of my weight in my hips definitely, and my chest I suppose but I'm actually less concerned with losing weight there. I'm about a size 8/10 there and I'm fine with that. I'm mostly concerned with my arms and stomach area. I know I obviously can't control where I lost the weight, but I'm measuring by how well…
  • Oh, that's a really good point. Can't believe I didn't realize that, haha. I'm 5'5" and my "healthy" BMI is 112-150 lbs. So would I have to go down all the way to about lower 140's to see a real visual difference? Jeez
  • I really want to be 149 by my birthday. My goal weight is 145-150, more of a range than a single number. My birthday is in two weeks and I'm currently 154.
  • Yeah, that's definitely true. I may be opposed to it right now simply because abs and toned arms seems so far-fetched that I don't even want to entertain the thought, haha. I just want to get over my first hurdle which is ANY exercise at all will do. So yeah, so far I'm doing that above video which basically covers arms…
  • Yes exactly, I'm aware that it takes A LOT to get that "toned" look and that's not what I'm aiming for. But as far as I know there are two ways to approach it? Lifting heavy vs lifting a lot with light weights? But yeah, I'm just trying to achieve the "firm and fit" look as opposed to making a lifestyle out of toning.…
  • I think you'd be surprised by how very little arm muscle I have. When I used to go to the gym, the lightest arm machine weight was too heavy for me. But yes I might try a program. Thanks though!
  • This is perfect! Thank you!
  • Hmm, not really. I don't want that toned muscular look. For example, my arms are kind of flabby from losing fat, and I want to lose that, but I don't want cuts. If that makes sense?
  • You guys have definitely helped me feel better :-) Thanks everyone! I hope to be posting my final success story soon.
  • That's how I feel about my back and arms. But y'know, even seeing little improvements on that makes me feel better. After a while though, you're right, you sort of come to terms with it because in the grand scheme of things, bad skin really isn't that terrible. I wish I had the opportunity to fish often, it was loads of…
  • Hehe, I was definitely not fit. I actually just found a photo that is probably a bit more revealing. Those baggy clothes hid a lot :p Thank you!! That's super sweet of you
  • Hahah thanks! I did catch them but that was actually my first and last time fishing :no_mouth:! We used worms as bait I believe, but as far as equipment, I have no clue. I was actually one inch away from winning the 100$ pool :-( Also, thank you!! It is really exciting. Aww, don't be! It was actually a benefit of eating…
  • Thanks so much everyone, I really appreciate it!! <3 <3
  • Hello! I'm also currently in college and working, so super busy and would love some friends that were on the same track as me.
  • Honestly, I'm confused about why there's so much debate here. Simple answer: we all crave things and want to eat over our calorie limits otherwise we wouldn't all be FAT. If you want to lose weight, don't give into the cravings. Stay within your limits. That's it.
  • I'm not sure it has to do with how much weight you lose so much as reaching that point where it's obvious, you know? For example, a few years ago I dropped from 195 to 175 and no one noticed. Then when I hit the 160-165 range everyone was commenting. Just because when you're at an overweightish state losing a pound makes a…
  • Actually, I think those concepts are the things we can't change! Those are so deeply embedded in society that an alternative, more positive way of thinking is very, very difficult. Also, we sort of need to feelings so that we can rationally and objectively criticize and better ourselves. What I disagree with is the fact…
