Actually, I think those concepts are the things we can't change! Those are so deeply embedded in society that an alternative, more positive way of thinking is very, very difficult. Also, we sort of need to feelings so that we can rationally and objectively criticize and better ourselves. What I disagree with is the fact…

Disregarding circumstances out of your control (health issues and such), why would you say it's neutral? I wouldn't particularly use the term "character" just because it's a bit vague. But it certainly shows a lack of self-discipline and a need for instant gratification, along with many other things. All of which are…

If your goals are set to two lbs per week, that sounds about right.

I used to weight everyday...got compulsive. Then I stopped weighing completely...gained (a lot) of weight because I had no proper tracking method. Now I weigh once a week. No more, no less. Works well for me.

It's actually really funny that you posted this now, because I just found this article about why people don't exercise. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2015/02/18/how-mindfulness-can-jumpstart-our-exercise-routines/?ref=health&smid=tw-nytimes&_r=0 I really liked the article simply because I could relate to it. A sugar addiction is just like any other addiction (cigarettes, etc) -- it's not going to stop until you cut it out completely and then wait out the withdrawal period. What I did at first was switch out sweets and soda for healthier options...fruit with honey, flavored yogurt, juice. Dates, plums, and grapes are all great…

I don't go over calories, just carbs. So I don't think that will affect weight loss? But I guess I'll stick to the 60/20/20 then and see how that works. Thanks guys :-)

I don't really have a problem eating healthy. I think that's the worst part of this. It's not that I need to eat differently, I need to eat less. Which is odd, I suppose. For example, my "binges" will consist of nuts, bananas, granola, honey, etc.

Just for today...(1/16) 1. I will stay under my calorie goals. 2. I will plan my snacks ahead of time. 3. I will drink at least 16 oz of water. 4. I will go to the gym. 5. I will not eat after 10 PM. 6. I will avoid crackers.

Have to actively and consciously think about it every minute of every day. It's work all. the. time. Don't get me wrong, it's well worth it, but sometimes the conscious effort gets exhausting.

Onions...love the taste in food but its texture is almost guaranteed to make me sick. I stick to the powdered version.

Could always use more motivation!

Tasty food you ate? Caramel chocolate Alcoholic beverage you drank? Vodka Movie you watched? London Boulevard Book you read? I'm reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest now but the last one I finished was The Passion.

Sure thing!

All of the above. I have a vision for the where and how I'd like to be ten years from now...being overweight is not included.

Just for today...(1/6) 1. I will drink at least 3 bottles of water. 2. I will log everything I eat. 3. I will stick to two cups of coffee. 4. I will refrain from indulging in the chocolate in the fridge that's currently calling my name.

That makes sense! Thank you.

Just for today I will... 1. Log everything. 2. Remain below my calories. 3. Not eat out (going into the city today with friends, so this'll be quite a feat!)
