  • This is my goal plan, but I'm still experimenting. Right now I' at 35% protein, 35% carb and 30% fat and I am not having any trouble finding good things to eat. Soon I'll try to lower the fat and up the other two a bit.
  • What other forum could she have really posted it in? You said yourself it says General. I'm just busting your balls.

  • I think it's a great idea to do if you hear her mention something about dieting or weight loss. If not, can you speak to someone she is close to and see if you can get them concerned for her? Maybe helping the concerned friend/relative/other close person will have an effect. At least you can walk away knowing you gave it…
  • She doesn't know what BMI and she surely didn't state what her purposes were. Not that I disagree it's not very useful, you just assumed a whole lot.

  • When I was pregnant I was told ginger and cinnamin for morning sickness and I think it helped. I heard it was good for digestion, as in stopping tummy aches. Also, from http://altmedicine.about.com/od/cinnamon/a/cinnamon.htm "In traditional Chinese medicine, Cassia cinnamon is used for colds, flatulence, nausea, diarrhea,…
  • There are two ways to get your information. Click the tools tab, then on the bottom left there will be BMI calculator and it gives you a summary of what it is and means. The other is to go to google, and do a search on BMI.

  • All of you look fabulous but this is my inspiration picture. My stomach is the same shape as your before. I always thought I had such a weird shape and it'd be impossible to get it back to a "normal" looking one, but you did it, so I am going to use you as my inspiration. Thanks a ton!
  • You can set your diary to track fiber. That might help you get an idea of how much you are getting and if you need to adjust.
  • Sometimes just having a back up plan helps, even if you don't have to use it. Take your shakes a a security blanket and then try not to use them.
  • I have been doing a lot of tuna salad with different combinations of ingredients so I don't get bored. Lots of Greek Yogurt. Sometimes, I'll just get ham or turkey and roll a few slices with cheese and put it in a baggy in the fridge. I always keep a Fit & Active Peanut Butter meal or snack bar in my purse. (Ok, so maybe I…
  • I am not doing Atkins but I am doing lower carbs/higher protein diet. You are welcome to friend me or look at my diary. Be wary that a lot of people will tell you you can have carbs just use moderation and not even listen to you, so my advice is skip their comments and move on to people who actually listen to your…

  • You are special. The OP didn't ask for your advice on eating pasta.
  • To all of you suggesting to just eat pasta and watch your portion: She obviously doesn't want to eat the pasta for whatever reason (I find it easier to just eliminate things I don't want from the house so I don't have to worry about self control) You could either kindly give your ideas for pasta replacement or just kindly…
  • If you like chocolate peanut butter combo - I have found Fit & Active protein meal bars to taste pretty close to candy bars. They are a little less sweet but definitively give you a chocolate fix. I love them. ( I eat them as a morning or afternoon snack (or both) never to replace an actual meal)
  • Also agreeing to ask for a referral to see a dietitian and/or get a second opinion.
  • yes ma'am =) I'm glad it's not that expensive, about 10 years ago it was unreal.
  • do you grow your vegetables or hunt your meat or fish? If not, all your food goes through warehouses and plants as well. I am not easily swayed by hype and fads.
  • I don't see any issue in using whey to replace meat. If it makes you feel better, go for it. I don't believe in this paleo diet. I do think you should try to not to eat too many processed food, but science is amazing! I encourage anyone to take advantage of it if it benefits them. I'm not disagreeing with the other food…
  • I have taken them a few years ago for a few months, and it kind of jump started my weight loss. Here is the thing (I work for a physician so this is my experience and experiences I've had in the office) 1. I haven't found an insurance yet that will pay for them, so it's $$ isn't that cheap if I recall 2. It has to be…
  • That is truly inspiring.
  • never mind, not worth replying to a one word reply.
  • Those are your goals to reach, not maximums.
  • I'm going to try out the spaghetti squash idea. Thanks!
  • It's easier to list the things I do not like from Aldi's. I don't care for their cheese or their mac n cheese. Everything else I've had is just as good, and a lot of times, better than other stores/brands. Just recently tried greek yogurt. I went to walmart to get cheese and grabbed a few flavors to try. Then I went to…
