I too have hypothryroidism. One of the main things you need to stay away from with this disease is soy. As far as nutrional eating, try to eat fresh food - no frozen foods! I have a coke zero everyday at dinner and it has not hindered me at all.

I could be muscle you are gaining at the gym. But, I have found that even a small slip up has bad consequences. I had 2.5 peices of pizza a couple of weekends ago and gained almost a pound! So, needless to say I have not had any pizza since then! Try to stick to foods that are not frozen and high in carbs too.

I think you should use it as just a guide. I try to stay between 800-1000 calories per day because I feel like if I ate 1200 calories per day and did not work out every day, I would not lose as much as I want or need.

When you weigh yourself throughout the day it is not accurate and you will weigh more after you eat. I have had hypothyroidism for about 10 years now. It definately makes it much harder to lose weight and much easier to put on weight. Just make sure you takes your meds every day on an empty stomach and stay away from foods containing soy. Good luck!

I always log my food in right after I eat it.

When I exercise I do not add those extra calories to my menu to eat more. I stick to around 800 calories a day and do not eat more if I exercise.
