  • You look a lot younger! You look great!
  • I went through that period where I would gain weight and then fall off the wagon because "it doesn't make any difference anyways". Now I think about the other reasons why I want to lose weight (and those are the most important reasons): my health, my son, having more energy, being around longer, getting in shape for…
  • You are doing awesome and should be super proud!
  • MFP gives me around 1,600 calories to burn one pound per week. I generally burn between 300-600 from exercise (I use a HRM) and I exercise almost daily. I do generally not like to eat my exercise calories back. I agree that if I burned a ton, I would probably eat some back.
  • Mine is probably higher than most. I'm 5'4 and my goal weight is around 160. When I was training for a half marathon, I was around 150 and loved my body. Big boobs, big hips, hourglass. So that's what works for me. I don't have the body type to get down to 120something and really wouldn't like my body that tiny.
  • I don't care what other people choose to do. But someone created a post asking for opinions, so they got opinions.
  • I am the one who said "I have to laugh when I see people basically logging anything that gets them off the couch as exercise". Take that how you will and if you want to get upset, that's fine. You can do whatever you choose and if it works for you, that's great. But personally, I love running and Zumba and burning a good…
  • I'll add my name to the Polar folks. I think I paid around $60 on Amazon and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made for myself. It makes me want to exercise more and burn more calories. It is a big motivator. It was also scary how much difference there would be between MFP calories burned and my HRM calories…
  • I wouldn't count it unless I was doing a lot of yard work, washing cars, etc. To me, I have to laugh when I see people logging anything that is basically them off the couch. If you mark your activity level as moderate or light, it should already account for some of this.
  • I'm not giving up anything that I can think of. I try to really limit soda to one every few days, but that's more because of the health risks it poses rather than the calories/weight loss issues. I ate pizza last night and had a Diet Coke with lunch. Still losing weight at a steady pace. Exercise helps you to look at food…
  • Why does the mfp number of calories differ from your MPR? And what is a TDEE? Isn't the MPR the amount of calories you would burn during a day? How can you lose weight if you eat at this number? Wouldn't you maintain? Thanks for the help!
