  • I say shout it from the roof tops losing weight is a major victor and you should be proud and loud. LOL
  • For every awesome trainer there are 50 bad ones. Just take your time and research different trainers. Talk to your friends and find one that they respect.
  • I have a $50 digital scale that seems pretty consistent. I prefer getting daily feed back, I never worry if I go up a few pounds its normal to fluctuate +/- 3lbs on a daily basis. I do it first thing in the morning, naked, after going potty.
  • Exactly 5lbs in 20 weeks is just noise. If you stay true to your caloric goals you are going to lose weight. Its as simple as that.
  • I would like to agree with everyone that mentioned about using a HRM. If you are really serious about working out and losing weight. the HRM is the single most important thing you will need beside recording everything in MFP. A HRM is the only way to know pretty close to what your calories burnt are. Everyone is different…
  • bored beyond belief.
  • You know I looked back and some days you are under some days and some close and some over. I do not think you are too crazy under. I think you are fine,,, maybe just add some fresh fruit or even almonds to make up the difference.
  • Whats in the paleo Stirfry? That sounds yummy.
  • #1. I would also make sure your weighing everything. Thats really the only serious way to do this. If you are guessing or not logging things it is really hard to keep under your daily calories. #2 if snacks are a big problem to start. portion control is your friend. Start slowly and remove the junk 1 item at a time. Not…
  • My favorite motivation to combat over eating or unhealthy choices is make yourself accountable. If you eat 1200 extra calories go to the gym and do 2 hours of cardio to make up for it. These days are going to happen and its more healthy if you come to terms with the occasional lapse, and stay on the journey.
  • Totally agree. and 500 calories over isn't even enough to gain any weight. in a day. There is no quick fix to weight loss. If you do not lose anything in a month then you are doing it wrong.
  • In my opinion. High calorie days I think are part of good program. I have plenty of anecdotal evidence that shows a single day does not make or break your diet. If your average calories are under your goal you are going to lose weight. I have had plenty of days where i had a high calorie day and lost weight for 2 days…
  • Its ok to take a day off. weight loss and feeling good is a journey and lifestyle you are going to have days where you take a step back, and its 100% normal. Just make sure you take 2 steps forward the next time you are at the gym. Drink some water and have a green apple. Fish is also perfect food to fill up on and its…
  • For me it just depends on the day. I think keeping your body confused is important. one day eat them all back, one day eat 1/2, another day just eat your base. I feel that making sure I hit my base calories is whats more important. Exercise calories are the great equalizer when you eat too much.
  • Its a myth that eating before bed is bad. On a daily basis it doesn't matter when you eat for the sake of calories. For most people keeping the feeling of full makes dieting easier. I eat at least 6 meals a day. Only lunch and dinner are big meals the rest are small either 300 or 150 calories.
  • Lets look at the weight loss math. 3500 calories is 1 pound of fat, 50 mins of good cardio is 500 calories. There is almost no possible way to burn 3500 calories in 2 days let alone a week. I do crazy Cardio and eat right and only lose about 1 pound a week. Sometimes it comes off slowly sometimes or sometimes I lose…
  • Swimming is awesome exercise you use your whole body.
  • Take the kids on a hike or walk 400 over is not the end of the world. sometimes we get in our head that 1 day makes or breaks a diet and that is really not true at all. you can always make up the calories tomorrow at the gym. Its what you do over the whole week and months that matters most in the end.
  • #1 advice do not sweat plateaus its just a fact of doing a weight loss plan sometimes they last a couple days or a couple weeks. Water, Water, Water. Also mix up your exercises and times, duration and intensity. I am also a firm believer that you should break your diet every 10 days or so sometimes we starve the body…
  • I agree with what people said above. You should increase your calories. Logging and even weighing everything that passes your lips is #1 priority. Also from what I saw of your diary you need to exercise more for a little longer and more consistently. Bare minimum 3 times a week for 30 mins. This will increase your…
  • Everyone has different ways to get motivated. I say burn away if that what gets you and keeps you exercising.
  • Amazon is the best place to get an HRM. I find that working out fairly hard doing any cardio for me burns 100 calories every 10 mins on average. The only real exception is Stair Master. I tend to burn 150 calories every 10mins. HRM is key, but also as a rule i take 10% off the HRM as a buffer.
  • Dance Dance Revolution and In the Groove. So I can game and do Cardio. There is not better workout.
  • You are not tracking water from what I can tell. I would make sure you stay super hydrated and see if that has an effect. Also try some hardcore cardio for a couple days and see if that doesn't jump start things. I'm talking about 1k calories in exercise. Also mixing up the type of cardio and the time of day. Keeping your…
