No, but there are 11 people in this challenge, and we all kind of know what the competitors are doing to lose weight, what type of diet, what type of exercise. We work together, so we talk. But one of the competitors was having a casual conversation with "clean eater" and mentioned my diet. There are also some other people…

100% this.

Also, make sure you are drinking a lot of water. People typically shed a lot of water weight initially with this type of diet. So you need to drink plenty of water to replenish yourself. You'll still lose water weight, too, even if you are drinking a ton of water. Good luck!

This. And, you still have to log everything and create a calorie deficit.

Don't forget about the holidays in there! That's always a struggle. I've seen that a lot of people go up to maintenance during the holiday season for a little more wiggle room and motivation to stay on track with those healthy habits.[/quote] Yes, absolutely! And once I've gone off the diet by September/October, it's all…

I wish I knew how to do that. As it is, I do not eat pork (not quite Kosher, but similar). I do eat a few servings per day of eggs or meat and dairy, along with leafy green and other low glycemic index veg, nuts, etc. I think it must be possible as there are veggies that have lots of fat and protein . . . .

I eat low carb. I know this is a lifestyle, not a temporary "diet". My reason for eating low carb, while prompted initially by weight concerns, are also related to insulin resistance and pre-diabetic conditions. I second the advice that you should examine your reasons for wanting to go low carb and decide if it is…

Busy working mom here, 4 kids in my house, and I feel your pain. Usually, what happens with me is I start trying to get it together in Spring, and I do well through the Summer when the kids' schedules are more relaxed. I lose anywhere from 30 to 40 pounds. But every Fall (I've checked the pattern here on MFP), when school…

Looks delicious, but I'd be hungry again in an hour.

Yes, and yes.

That, I understand. I understand those people are just selfish @ holes.

While we're judging people at planet fitness . . . . why do so many people wipe down the wrong machine? I see people get off the machine, walk over to the sanitizer, go to a different machine (usually one right next to the on they were on) and wipe it down. And, that is why I wipe my machine down both before and after I…

I've been on MFP for a few years, changed my details and profile stuff a few times, and it ALWAYS says 1200. I finally went to some different web sites and used the info there to calculate what my calories should be AT MY GOAL WEIGHT. Says 1500-1700. So, I am trying to keep mine under 1500 per day.

Update: Since joining Sexy by Summer on Feb. 20th, I am down another 3 pounds. And, I am a winner in one of the two diet contests I was entered in. The other isn't over until April 10th. AND, I joined another diet contest for March! Just need to keep up the momentum, and keep on working out and eating below goal!

I started January 10th with 100 pounds to lose. I have already lost 22. Only 78 more to go!! Let's do this!!

I have been slacking on going to the gym this week. I have just felt so tired, and working long days at my job. But, my diet has been ON POINT! So, I am still down a couple of pounds this week! Yesssssss.

Holy geez. I never said I was the ONLY person who was sympathetic, or that there weren't enough sympathizers. Is there an "only one sympathetic person per thread" rule, or what? And, actually I said something along those same lines, is there a rule against that too? Anyway, "We are not meant to compare our losses to the…

She is a grown woman who made a frustrated post about how different people are different. Get over yourself already. You are one of the main ones I see that lurks around on these forums just waiting for someone to post something you can pounce on, correct, and then ride them like a paint horse when they try to explain…

OP, I feel ya'. I totally get where you're coming from. But, you just can't post stuff like that here. The diet police WILL call you out on YOUR feelings and YOUR opinions. And then they'll bring all kinds of science into the argument too, sheesh. That being said, I personally try to use my CICO tools as more of a…

Competition works for me too. Currently in a couple of diet contests. After they end, I may do another one. Don't know yet.

There are certain restaurants that I just can't do. And, that is specific to my particular dietary restrictions. Some places I used to love to eat, I just don't go there. But, the internet is your friend. Plan ahead, look up their menu and check their nutritional info. By doing this, I know which restaurants I can do, and…

I've had pie made from Avocados, both key lime and chocolate cream pie. So, definite treat options, but the creamy consistency of this lovely superfood does lend itself well to creamy pie fillings, and the flavor is bland enough to be covered by the main flavoring. Personally, I love them without the pie camouflage! So, I…

I fell off the low carb wagon hard when last summer ended. Life just got super busy, and I stopped pre-planning and meal prepping. I regained everything I had worked to lose and then some. Meanwhile, I watched my boss, who started low carbing the same time as me last year, steadily lose weight, and now he looks great. No…

I'm in. I've been losing pretty aggressively since January 10th because I'm in 2 weight loss contests. I'm thinking of joining another one when those two end because it has been very motivational so far! I've lost about 18 pounds since January 10th! I'd love to lose another 40 by July 1st!

I like the grilled nuggets and side salad at Chic Fil A with avocado lime ranch. No reason to avoid it.

I set up a reward system for myself because plans, spreadsheets, and rewards are motivational to me. And everyone should do what works best for them. The first couple of mini goals are for larger weight loss amounts, and then the milestones get smaller because I know the pounds typically come off quickly at first and then…
