  • Thanks @WinoGelato! I've been on the site for a few years but never really used it consistently. Since I'm already a healthy weight my motivation to lose weight comes and goes. Mostly I use it to keep my weight in check by logging my food and exercise every so often. For me, seeing the calories in black and white can be a…
  • @WinoGelato My goal weight is set at 135 with a loss of 1 lb per week. My calorie goal is 1350 before exercise & my profile is set to sedentary. Yes, I see what you're saying. I think I'm just more active than I thought. I just don't want to go crazy eating 2000+ cals and end up gaining weight lol. 848 calories just seemed…
  • Hi Lyssa, I'm 5'10" and 149 lbs. My current step count for today is 11,848. I'm seeing the calorie adjustment in MFP if that's what you're asking. Ok, I'll keep that in mind about the Fitbit getting to know me. Thanks!
  • It could just be a habit. Try to get out of the habit of snacking while watching tv or eating dessert every night. Sip on water instead, or have some fruit. If you do have a snack, limit the portion size. It's all about moderation :)
  • Yeah, I agree that weekends are the hardest.. so many distractions! I would carve out time early in the day for workouts, or incorporate activity into your weekend (biking, hiking, etc.). I'm not sure about your statistics / goals, but 1200 calories sounds low to me. I would try to start slow so you can stick with it as a…
  • I'm not sure, but I eat Quick Oats every weekday morning and love it .. so quick and easy .. they keep me full for a long time too. They may not be as healthy as Steel Cut Oats for the reasons already stated, but they are healthier (and more filling) than many regular cereals.
  • They both look nice, but I'm not sure either is right for the occasion. The material of the first dress looks gauzy & casual, like a maxi dress style. Maybe the material just isn't coming through on the photo. The second is a more dressy material, but as others have stated, I'm not sure it's formal since it isn't floor…
  • My family is a big Diet Coke family, so I grew up drinking it daily (or almost daily), even throughout college. Now I have cut down to probably 2x per week. I don't monitor it that closely, but like several other people have said it's about moderation and portion control. Try to swap out most juice / pop drinks for water,…
  • Ditto to what others have said, I've heard you shouldn't work out right before you go to sleep because you may have a harder time falling asleep.
  • Thanks guys! Yes, I have heard Urban Decay products are good. Are they only sold at Sephora? Revlon ColorStay is the foundation I use currently, before that I used the Almay Clear Complexion for years. I would like something a little more.. glowy? I don't know. I have tried using BB cream but then I don't feel like I am…
  • I forgot to mention, if you are concerned about the safety of your products, you can check them on the Environmental Working Group's (EWG) Skin Deep database! It is an awesome site :) http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/
  • I might try getting under 140 (maybe 135 or so) and see how I look & feel (and if I can even tell a difference). Being tall, it is easier to carry more weight and still look thin / healthy I think. I can't necessarily tell if I gain or lose only a few pounds. As far as the comparison to models, their actual JOB is to look…
  • Just to clarify, the 30 Day Shred is a circuit program of three 22-minute programs of varying intensity. You are supposed to spend 10 days on each level before progressing to the next one. Level 1 includes pushups, but it's not like you do pushups the whole time - probably around 2 minutes total. I'm not sure if Levels 2…
  • Thank you everyone for the tips, I really appreciate it!!
  • Also, I never said anything about quitting or giving up .. I asked specifically for tips on quicker recovery from muscle soreness so I can continue doing 30DS as soon as possible.
  • It's not that I didn't expect to be sore, it's that usually when I'm sore I can take a day or 2 off and I thought the whole point of the program is to do 30 continuous days. It's not like this is my first time working out, I lead an active lifestyle and am basically on here to tone up..
  • Wow, thanks for the quick responses everyone .. what I was thinking of was doing cardio (walking/running) today and hoping by tomorrow I will feel well enough to do it again! But as someone mentioned, sometimes the soreness gets worse day 2 after exercising, so we'll see ..
