  • I walk most the time and run when I'm chased. Although in the summer I like to bike while listening to the app. It works just as well, and I just bike faster during the chases. Despite being Runner 5, I am not a runner.
  • I plan on it, but I have to wait until May for my new phone. My current one is only running Android 2.something, and The Walk requires 4 or higher. The only reason I can do ZR2 is I put it on my iPad and wear that in a backpack when I do missions. LOL But, from the looks of it, The Walk is designed to track your steps all…
  • Ha! More than that! At my heaviest, I wore a size 22 or 24 jeans in most brands. But in the Lane Bryant brand I wore a size 4. A size 4! Seriously, I liked shopping there because the clothes actually fit and were cute, but who did they think they were fooling? I knew, for a fact, that I was no size 4.
  • I started at 220 and my original goal was just to be under 150. Now that I'm basically there, my new goal is somewhere in the 135 area. Even when I was in high school and was quite thin (prom dress was a size 4), I always had a curvy figure. Wide-ish hips and larger chest. So going much below that would leave me looking…
  • I hate the idea of willpower. People will say to me "Oh, I can't lose weight, I don't have willpower like you do." Like I have this magic thing that makes it easy for me. I don't, no one does. It's not willpower, it's choices. You chose what is more important to you, losing weight or the snacking. You do this every day,…
  • I live in Minnesota... That said, I STARTED this app last January, so I really don't have any excuse. Just bundle up and get out there. If it's hard, just remember, in the zombie apocalypse, the weather won't always be nice, but you'll always need supplies. No excuses!
  • I was going to be something else, but then I didn't get that costume done in time, so I wound up being Runner 5 after all. My daughter had long ago decided to be a zombie, so it worked! Thought I would share the photos with you all. ^_^ Oh, and if I look a little puffy, I'm wearing three shirts under the Runner 5 shirt to…
  • Ooh, I can see that way of thinking helping me! I'm not eating less of something I really want because it's too many calories. I'm eating less because we all have to conserve food in these post zombie apocalypse times. Fun!
  • So true! And I will add that stage 2 can come back and rear it's ugly head. When you hit a plateau, when you've been doing it for "just too long", when the progression slows due to being a lower weight, when you had a break because of a vacation or holiday, or just flat out of nowhere. Watch out for it! Also, if you give…
  • What drives me nuts are the conversations that go like this: "Hey, you look great! How much have you lost?" "About 65 pounds." "That's awesome! Hey, have you heard about South Beach / Atkins / cabbage soup / XYZ cleanse? It's supposed to be great, you can drop like 57 pounds in 3 days! You should do that! bla, bla, bla"…
  • I typically go out on a trail on the edge of town, unless it’s dark, then I run in town. It's pretty nice out there, just lonely enough to add a creepy factor: trees, lakes, a hand full of houses (some of them empty), and often no one else on the trail. I do have a few amusing stories from ZR. Once I was running a mission…
  • Meh... Biker 5 here! I hate running also. I walked all through season one, unless I was being chased, and I made it most of the way through the 5K training... sorta. But I just really don't like running. Now, this app while biking is the bees knees! I've been having SO much fun with it. Even the chases are fun, unless they…
  • Nearly everyone in my family gets it in their 50s and yes, I do worry that I will also. It used to scare me silly and was part of the reason I started working on losing weight. But now I don't worry about it so much. Why? Because in the course of losing all this weight, I naturally eat lower carb (I don't count carbs, but…
  • I guessed it right on... and I'm actually a little disappointed! See, I thought that I saw myself as bigger than I am (now) and I guess I don't. :frown:
  • marking this to do on my lunch break. ^_^
  • The classic "little black dress." I've never had one. In fact, the only dress I own (or have owned in over 10 years) is my wedding dress... which is WAY too big for me now! lol Not that I would wear it again anyway. I've never looked good in dresses, as I've always been short and have been fat for 10 years. I wind…
  • I'm mizzie1980 on ZombieLink also, if anyone wants to add me. ^_^
  • Hard boiled eggs, all the way! A carton of eggs is super cheap and one egg is only about 75 calories. I use the whole egg, no one is taking my yolk away from me.
  • Goodness yes! I don't eat clean, far from it, but I avoid the worst of the bad stuff. After months of eating healthier, I went out with a few friends. Half a plate of cheese sticks and a two cocktails later and I was throwing up in the bathroom. The alcohol and grease hitting my stomach at the same time like that was very,…
  • I do eat a lot of the same things for breakfast and lunch. I try to save the bulk of my daily calories for dinner so I can eat with my family without changing our meals too drastically (although they have changed). So breakfast is usually oatmeal or a peanut butter sandwich. Lunch is usually a PB sandwich (but not if I had…
  • Oh good, thank you both! I was worried there was something wrong with my iPad or my app. Bummer for the delay, but I'm glad to know there is nothing wrong.
  • Everyone is different, every body is different. Does the dietitian know how active you are? It's possible that the 1250 number she gave you is not taking into account all your exercise. Taking a look, it looks to me like she just took that 1760 that your test showed and subtracted 500 a day to lose 1 pound a week. It also…
  • Eh, no. Too much sodium will bloat me like nothing else and it takes me weeks to get rid of it, so I avoid things like that. On top it that, there are a LOT of veggies I don't like and those pre made meals tend to have a lot of those (peppers, onions, tomatoes, etc). Plus, I would rather make my own food and learn how to…
  • It's possible that the food didn't sit well in your stomach as your system isn't used to the grease and fat anymore. I know a few years ago, after eating fairly healthy for 8 months I went out with a few friends. One cocktail and half a plate of cheese sticks later and I was throwing up in the bathroom. Just couldn't take…
  • ^ This Seriously, I can't be the only one who thinks the "thigh gap" is horrendously ugly, right? It's not a sign of health or fitness, women with it often look anorexic or child like to me. Do not want.
  • I've seen this question a lot and I've never really understood it. You aren't sick, you don't need bed rest or special treatment. Just slap on a pad or tampon and go about your day. Exercising isn't going to cause a leak or make you feel faint. It might help with bloating or cramps, it might not. Depends on the person. I…
  • I saw that also and was going to post it! I was all geared up to make a nasty comment on it before I got past the first few lines. I love it!
  • Dear lord, how much ice cream did she think you ate?!? In order for you have lost more "pounds" (plural) without it, you would have had to have eaten at least 7000 calories (2 pounds) worth. Since your average full fat ice cream tends to be around 140 calories for a half cup serving, you would have had to have eaten at…
  • Lol, a lot of loose jeans today. I can wear jeans on Friday to work, so I pull out one of my favorite pair, fresh from the dryer... and they are practically falling down! WAY too big, I look kind of ridiculous. Going to hit Goodwill and Savers this weekend, to see if I can find a few pair that fit. Too expensive to buy new…
  • I lost 67 pounds, hit a plateau, got frustrated and gave up. Wound up gaining back about 45 over the course of a year. Hit 198 and realized I’d be back over 200 soon if I didn’t kick it back into gear. Now I’ve lost that 45 again and am only about 4 pounds away from my original goal. I won’t lie, it’s harder the second…
