Yeah baby...it helps keep ME accountable...hope it can do the same for you. I was naturally skinny most my life and then found myself well over 35 lbs over weight. I am down 15-16 lbs since mid January. It's great, and I feel a lot better getting back to my old GOOD habits. My family laughs at me because before dinner…

I like what he/she said: NEVER let another person define YOU blah blah blah.... I had a controlling/abusive situation for many years and it did the opposite for me ...at 5'8" I was down to 97lbs. Looking back it was eating disorder. Focus on health - mind, body, spirit and SELF! You will be amazed at how healthy you will…

when I first started back watching portion size I had to measure for a while because I forgot what an actual 1/2 cup of something was. I still occasionally measure to keep it right but eyeball a lot too. That first meal you described did sound ginormous!!!! Kudos to you for the positive changes you are making I always cook…

Man I feel your pain... I blew out my ankle a week before my first 8k race and I was freaking out. What I did was rest and ibprofen. I was supper bumbed out becasue I was really into the training routine HOWEVER....with the rest I gave myself I was able to do and FINISH the race. I didn't get as good as a time as I had…

I know you can do it! Often at the start you will lose more than one a week and that is encouraging to keep going. I was idle for three weeks but have finally started moving down again. Just have to stay motivated and remember it's about health, not a number on the scale. Bonus is stick with it and those numbers usually go…

Hi and welcome. This site is really great especially if you use the tools and friendships I want you to know that you are not alone. I too was the girl who could eat/drink whatever but I have always worked out so things pretty much balanced themselves out. 16 months ago I almost lost my oldest daughter in a car accident…

Time is my enemy too! Try getting up 20 minutes earlier and walking - do you have a tread mill? Initially the 20 minutes will benefit. when you get into it you will be surprised at how much more energy you have and then you will find a lot more time to exercise. Also, make yourself get up at least 2-3 times a day from your…

I totally agree, I more often than not figure out my meals before consuming them. Especially if we are going out. My family makes fun of me but oh well, I feel better going in that way and it really keeps me on track. this site is great - plus it's fun so it keeps me motivated. Hoping for the best for you in your journey!

I work in the Cardiac Department at our hospital....wow! Not trying to judge anyone but what about her child? doesn't she want to stick around long enough to see her grow up. Sorry, I just don't get it.

the nurses in the heart failur center that I work in say 2300 or lower for normal healthy heart...of course, it is much more restricted for those with heart failure. they did tell me thou you could go to low with sodium and it could effect cognitive function of the brain. I am not a clinician so I don't know specific…
